Approaching me by email

by Bev Clement 4 replies
I have received a couple of emails in the last few days which demonstrate how not to approach me.

Someone found one of my websites, and they wanted to know how much I would charge them to have a front page text link.

Problem they didn't give me any website for me to check their site out. I am not going to allow anyone to have a front page text link on any of my sites if you can't be bothered to tell me which niche you are in, and what you are selling.

I have received a few emails (from warriors) who have asked me about writing. The problem is that they have sent it to a travel site not to my ghostwriting site. They have assumed my paypal address is a .com whereas it is a .co.uk and I get some of the default emails but not on a daily basis. Don't assume my email address is wrong, and change it because it will take me time to receive and answer you.

So if you want me to answer emails, then give as much information as possible, and get the email address correct.

    Bev,

I'm with you on the info-sharing! People email all the time asking for a link and give no info at all. Why should we be the ones to waste time asking the senders about their sites, who they are, etc?

Sadly enough, too, the few who do include this info run sites like DogDung.com or PimpTips.com. Like wow - -sure let's link. I mean, have you LOOKED at my site????

    Waste of time.

      Hi Bev,

I'm not sure about those. I've been getting a ton of those. I did negotiate with one bloke but his offering was paltry. Then afterwards I got so many all with the same message that I get the impression that someone has released an ebook/software that helps to do this.

I get some to the contact email on my sites and some to the whois details. I'm not convinced that they are genuine though. Something is a little fishy about them suddenly arriving en masse.
