Your opinion, please!

Hi everyone...

So I'm putting something together and getting ready to launch a product. I do my own graphic work (for now) and I'm trying to decide on what I want to use...

So I have this product that basically teaches methods for making money online quickly without having to wait - as opposed to something like a CB affiliate offer where you have to wait to get your money.

Originally I was gonna call it "Instant Cash Guru" and I created some graphics with a guru guy. Later I decided to call it "Instant Cash Methods" and redid the graphics with a lady with her hands out and money coming down from the sky.

A good friend and fellow IMer suggested to me that the money from the sky one looked "spammy", so I decided to use the guru, but with the new name. I figured a guru still relays the idea of someone with some wisdom to impart...

But I still kinda like the one with the lady, personally. So I'm trying to decide which I want to use.

I put a link in my signature to a page I just threw up that shows them both. If you would all be so kind as to take a look and give me an honest opinion of which you like better and why, it would help me in the decision making process.

Thanks so much!

No offense, they both look extremely spammy, both in name and the graphic.

Really. All three words "instant," "cash," and "guru" would keep me from ever considering this red flag.

I agree with Steve. Both designs look spammy and neither looks professionally done. Even when I was new to the game, I don't think I would have considered buying a product with either of those images (or product names) on it.

I'm afraid I have to agree, here: they both look really bad, to me.

It's marginally better, in that only two of the three words (instead of all three) are huge "red flags". It still sounds about as scammy as you can get, though. Sorry.

He meant "scammy", not "spammy", surely? (People quite often get these very similar-sounding words mixed up).

Back to the drawing board altogether really is the right direction here. You really need far better options than either of these (and a more plausible name) before you have anything to test.

the only way to truly know is to split test both of them...
send an equal amount of traffic to them both and see which one performs better.

      db,

We're honestly not trying to pick on you or trash your product. It's just that many of us have been in this money making industry for quite awhile and we are maybe overly sensitive to the scammy (thank you Lexy) and hyped up products and graphics that infiltrate this Internet space. I hope you understand that it really is nothing personal - we are actually trying to help you. That's what you asked for, right?

I agree with the first reply ... the names do sound a bit spammy and general.

It is one of those names you can see in popups and ads all over the net - nothing especial to standout from the crowd!!

    Get more creative!

I wish you the best of the best!!

    Cheers!

Yup, have to agree with all the comments above, sounds almost as bad as as Clickbank MMO product with 'commissions' in the name.

As a suggestion db, why not start another thread asking for product name ideas from the members, someone is sure to come up with a nugget.

Failing that make three word lists containing all appropriate terms and chuck them in a keyword tool like Redfly that will give you hundreds of variations.

...and I have just remembered another fun naming tool that has appeared here before
it's called the WSO Name Generator, it even comes with word lists, play with it here....

    hope that helps

Maybe I should give that name generator a try...

The challenge is that, as I said, the subject of the course deals with methods of making money online where you can collect quickly. So I have to come up with something that conveys that without being scammy and is SEO friendly.

I understand what you are all saying about being leery of scamminess. I think I've unsubscribed from a lot more lists than I've subscribed to. But I also base a lot on what people seem to be looking for - as in keyword research (I use Market Samurai).

But, having said that, I also know that there are a lot of people out there looking for that "push button" kind of stuff that most of us know don't exist or work. I don't want to get a rep for taking advantage of those people, so... I do plan to take your advice and rethink this whole thing.

      Thanks again.

Don't you think the "guru" theme is overdone? Many people get turned off by the gurus selling trash and not cash. Why can't you be original or different? Use tried and true headlines and realistic copy. What is your USP?
