If You Started Over Today...What Would You Do Differently?

Write at least 2 blog posts a day for my niche for the whole year.

(i) Start building lists on day one, instead of a little later;

(ii) Avoid all the clueless beginner's mistakes I made;

(iii) Spend less time writing content and more time getting it published in places that really help.

Channeled all my efforts into building one big super-duper go-to, supersite.

Avoided shiny objects like the plague.

Paid others to do what I could not, instead of learning it myself.

Trying to learn/do 300 things at once!

That's what I was going to say.

Forget learning, and trying to perfect every aspect of the "plan", and just take action, try and fail, and try again...

Read, Study, Ask Questions about all marketing methods and MMO and then use the Power of One (ie. focus on one project until it makes money) before moving on to the next project that interests me. If you know marketing principles, you can apply them to anything to make money. Actually, I'm starting all over again now that I have the inside knowledge, tools available, and services available.

I've lost a lot of valuable time and money to scammers but I've learned a lot of knowledge and that like everything else in life, the best thing is the simplest thing.

Damn, that's a great question... Wonder why nobody else thought about asking it before?

I have been marketing online since 2001. If i were to start again, i would stop buying too many products and create one myself. I would stop worrying about everything being perfect and just take action and actually get something out there. Learn by doing. I remember i must've spent atleast 2 years, just looking for the magic bullet. I only saw success after taking "IMPERFECT" Action.

I will learn from day one how to drive traffic....and how to make use of others' list.

I would start building a list right a way

Wouldn't stop and restart my "internet business". Could've been done and set in life even if i kept my operations going online... whether the campaign sucked or not. Whatever you, just keep pushing and don't quit the business. The minute you see something working - dont touch it. Just ride it out, and let it produce the money that you're looking for in your business. May take 1 year, or 5.... all depends on how often and where you advertise.

If I could start over again, I would buy all the good .com domains that were available for registering at the time I've started doing IM, 12 years ago

Focus on ONE niche I am passionate about and learn all I can about it, create a product, launch a WSO and build an email list around the niche...rinse and repeat.

Choose the right niche and wrote content more consistently.

Be consistent in what you do, plan your work and work your plan...

I wouldn't do anything differently.

I would do precisely what I'm doing now.



But that's wisdom right? Something that takes time and effort in order to acquire.

Start building a list.
Build solid relationships with that list.
Find great things to offer that list both free and paid.

If I was to start all over I would go on WarriorForum and create a thread asking what others will do if they had to start over. Of course I won't bother with the search function

Anyway, jokes aside. If we get to keep the knowledge we have today then it's going to be:

1. Create my own info product
2. Build a list promoting that as a FE
3. Then basic affiliate marketing

I would focus on ONE niche until it works. The fastest way to see success in IM is to FOCUS.

Ignore fear of criticism.

Absolutely not. The mistakes i made helped me learn how to over come them and make me a better person in general. I'm thankful for every lesson learned.

Building a list should be your'e number one priority.
Pick one source of traffic and master. You MUST learn how to drive traffic. Because you can be the best marketer in the world but if you don't have traffic your'e dead in the water!

If I know what i know today, I will do three things very differently.

1) Build a list and continue building it. It's a never ending process

2) Churn out offers for my list.

3) Preserve and never give up. I gave up too many times and that is why I keep failing.

Don't try to be an overnight millionaire. Take small consistent actions every day, your efforts will eventually compound into a small business before you even realize

focus 100% on huge deals. The smaller number of cusotmers you need the better. Much more relaxing. Delaing with dozens of new cusotmers every month for small fees is a way to burn out.

Stop waiting until everything is perfect and start doing things instead.

If I were to start over - I would

- Focus on dominating one business.

Instead of hoping around.

I went from affiliate marketing to copyrighting to having my own products to ppc marketing to ppv marketing to apps - with a bunch of businesses in between.

I made money with all of them. But I could have made 10x if I just focused on one business instead of going for the next big wave.

- Doing media buys.

When I look around - it's mostly the media buying vendors in the Internet marketing world that earn the most.

If I just crack media buying - that's enough.

I won't need any other form of traffic.

Marc Cuban says this a lot: "You only have to get rich once".

- Selling assets.

Having an exit strategy and knowing when to say goodbye.

In our industry - most people never sell. They cling to their assets until it's life cycle is over and it's dead.

But they don't sell it. Specially not at it's peak.

Most millionaires and billionaires you know about - didn't get rich by clinging on to their thing. They sold it and moved on.

Marc cuban (broadcast.com to yahoo), Steve jobs (sold all apple stocks), Elon Musk (paypal to ebay) to name a few.

I don't want to be doing this 3 years from now. I want to move up the food chain and become an investor.

I don't want to be the guy managing the casinos.

I want to be the guy owning them

If I was starting today I would:

1) DO one thing at a time instead of trying to make everything work.
2) Build up on stuff that I have already built. If not then built something first and the build up on top of that.
3) Research and do some inner dialogues to truly find out what I want and need from life and what is my gift that I would like to share with the world to create purpose in my work instead of dong it just for money.
4) Collect a list right from the beginning.
5) Test and track to find the best things that work for me.
6) Made videos when YouTube was still in its early stages.

Much more but those were the ones that came up to the top of my head right away.

I would have started putting my ideas into action!

I would ...
1. Focus on mastering copywriting and email list building.
2. Master one niche before moving on to the next niche.
3. Outsource most of the content and email writing to free up my time and focus on what really matters.
4. And definitely get a mentor. A mentor will save you a lot of time and errors.

I'm actually starting over again. Here's some of what I'm planning to do.

I would focus on building a list, learn article writing, and plant hundreds of order buttons all over the internet.

I would also invest back my online income to my sites.

1 Invest a lot more in paid marketing... cause everything else is slow

2 Accept faster people don't want the truth, they want to be motivated, uplifted and most of the time told what they wanted to hear... to feel better.

By the way, I've been having trouble with this for about 10 years now... LOL

3 Get people to do my marketing and concentrate more on the things that matter.

1. Build a list from day 1

2. Try not to conquer 20 different venues of marketing all at once

3. Outsource more tasks to allow myself more freedom to do what really matters.......project management.

4. Create more products

5. Spend more time learning about trackable paid traffic than SEO. ;-)

Realize it doesn't take money to make money... But at the same time, sometimes spending money will help kickstart your career. People say it takes money to make money, but you don't need to do that. However, again, spending some money will help jump start you to making an income from home. Hope that helps!

I would focus more on DOING and less on reading about it. I wasted so much time by not doing stuff

Not waste any time in the small insignificant stuff. Only focus on making big money. it's about the same effort.

I would start doing exactly what a successful person in my niche is doing.Also, I would most likely make a video and an SEO blog post per day for 6 months without stopping!!!

Things I Would Do Differently?

1) Have a long term perspective and choose a niche that is profitable and I'm passionate about
2) Build assets in that niche like email list, blog, video channel, etc
3) Invest 80% of time taking action and applying rather than LEARN, LEARN, LEARN

Get a coach straight away. This business has changed so drastically over the years that it's nearly impossible for a new entrant to gain traction.

If i had to start over..
just recently for example my blog got wiped out clean because of servers
so i never gave up..i soldiered on..and kept my optimism
i was a bit of a pessimism now im so optimistic..
step1 Take action..baby steps to acheive your goals daily consistently
step2 add value to people's lives cos it's not about "ME' i was always about finding that next shiny object
step3 no business hopping..just stick with one and stick it out until achieved the most ultimate results
step4 Keep going..never quit ...quitter's never win winners never quit

- Get some assets live and rank em up.
- Build a list.
- Profit.

I would have built my sales funnel right the first time and actually put a funded proposal in place. I left a lot of money on the table by not doing this.

The majority of people are already in a business opportunity so I should have been promoting something else that will provide a solution to their problem - normally how to get more leads.

A value packed sales funnel in the form of a funded proposal also increases conversion rates through the roof and allows me to have more of that 1-to-1 personal experience with my list!

Big mistake I made and that I should have done right from the first time!
