Autoresponder Needed ASAP!

I've been using Responsebot for a few months and it's pretty okay for what I needed, but it's closing down on the 10 July, so I need another very soon.

Responsebot was $9.95 a month so I need something like it or better. I have lots of pages that need new autoresponder scripts so I'm keen to get something recommended soon.

Hope you Warriors can help?

Thanks in advance

Brian

Most people that I've talked to use Aweber - I'm getting it set up on my blog this weekend. It's $19 a month, I think.

    Brian,
The only two even worth looking into are about $20.00 a month, and they are

    GetResponse and Aweber.

From what I understand, GetResponse has a better delivery rate, but I've only just begun using it where I've used Aweber for a long time and I"ve been happy with it.

The only reason I am trying out GetResponse is to see if I have better delivery rates than with Aweber.

    -Happy 4th of July!

    Brian,

I would go with Getresponse.com. They are VERY affordable and they are great.

    I can highly recommend iContact.

iContact starts at 9.99/month for 250 list members (email addresses). They'll also let you import your current list. Prices increase from there depending on how many email addys you have.

This is one of the reasons why I use my own autoresponder script: Dirt Cheap Autoresponder | The Best Autoresponder for Simple Needs

I really do not like having service availability, pricing, subscriber levels, etc., for anything related to my website being dependent on someone else.

On the other hand, the statistics, and other cool features of Aweber / GetResponse can't be beat. Just depends on whether you need and use them.

I have used aweber and getresponse but now only use gertresponse.
It does not mean it is any better because so many factors come into it.

At the end of the day it is a personal choice and either would do the basic functions just as well in my opinion.

Aweber is better IMO. I have used both and migrated over to AW and haven't looked back.

I use iContact, AutoresponsePlus, and WorldMerge for all my needs.

Folks should use the right tool for the right job.

Also, feel free to use the search function on top of this forum - this particular topic gets discussed several times a month. And as you may realize - folks have pretty strong opinions on their tools/service providers.

Its like asking a bit-head which is better - emacs or some other L^2 (loser and lame) editor (you may be able to guess my bias there ;-) )

Emacs? Oh no... The can of worms is now open!

      Pico, baby! (errmmm... never mind.)

Excellent analogy, Jack. At this point, I doubt that there's a significant difference in deliverability rates for the two. I know there have been some, shall we say "flawed," comparisons from GR fans, but those seem to have gone the way of the dodo.

People get way heated over this topic, and most of them have no good reason to.

The question of using a service over installing the thing on your own machine is different. That's been discussed here a lot, so a search will help. Just don't believe anything you read in what you find.

Use the tool that fits. I use Aweber, Autoresponse Plus, and Worldmerge, mostly. The choice depends on the application.

For a situation like this, I'd go with a self-hosted solution, with a dedicated IP. What you might lose in delivery will be more than covered by what you WILL lose moving to a service that requires that you re-confirm the list.

I use Aweber and was grandfathered in before the rate changes. However, I also don't get as many bells and whistles with the list I keep at that account.

GetResponse has an efficient rate ( ) and are upgrading soon I believe.

It really comes down to personal choice - BUT these are the only two to really consider if you are in business for the long haul. Otherwise you'll be migrating large lists later and that's a real hassle.

    Hey Brian,

I am in the same boat, but I had lifetime membership. Oh well.

I am switching to Get Response. I have clients that use both Aweber and GR, but of the two, I really like GR. Aweber used to be very good, but when they changed their pricing, the quality of service seemed to drop a bit.

    Will be switching this week.

    Thanks,

    John

Setup your own script on your own domain. It's actually very easy to get white listed with the major ISP's and email providers. Don't listen to the autoresponder services that claim it's a full time job to get your emails delivered. It's NOT!

I would love to go for this over a service. I really don't know why I didn't think of this here. I remember noticing on a different blog that I couldn't find where to input name and email - turns out, adblockpro for firefox was blocking the form.

      Got any good script recommendations?

Aweber is the best. Sadly most will take your list when you leave. If you are lucky you might be left with a partial list, but Aweber is the best so that's what you should go for if you are serious in any way about a list.

    Enjoy the journey.

I just started using G-lock from my own computer... no monthlies... and it does split testing.

It also has a cool double opt-in wordpress plugin that integrates with it.

There's a free version, and a paid version... I suggest going free until you list builds.

DM me for a link if want more info.

I found this site from another forum profollow.com. This seems to be an old aweber reseller site. You can store up to 10,000 leads. Anyone use this service? any advise?

That is, I believe, Jeff Walker's label of Aweber.

I don't know if Tom has any plans for changing the pricing for the private label resellers.

I use Aweber. Not only do they have a great delivery rate but their are many options at your disposal. One very important feature is scalability. IMHO this service is the Rolls Royce of autoresponders.

What's the reason they are closing? If it's lack of customers then I'd be tempted to buy the entire business lock-stock and barrel.. I think I'll send them an email

    Mike,

Gary (Hunyh) said it was because of issues with the script he uses. Long story about the developer not responding, script issues, etc. I think it became something he didn't wnat to mess with anymore.

As for the script, a lot of others are using it and don't seem to be having any problems. I didn't have any problems using the service, but it's gone come friday.

    Thanks,

    John
