Teespring Campaign: Is it time to pull the plug?!

If anybody else is on Teepring and can give me some advice I'd appreciate it.

I started my campaign on the 24th and these are the results so far:

147 clicks, $47+ spent and only 2 sales.

I'm wondering whether or not I should continue because the click-through rate is the highest I've gotten on a campaign (over 5%) and I've got a lot of website clicks so there must be interest.

But for some reason it's just not converting. It's not the design because I've had comments that people love it.

Thoughts?!

Have you tried to optimize your ads? If you've been tracking your conversions, you can simply add more funds to the ads that converted sales and stop the ones that didn't convert.

you say its not the design because people love it. But to be honest that is not a real strong indicator of conversions. Your numbers speak louder than what some have said. How many people have actually said they love it? Try a different design see if there are any changes.

yes, i suggest a different design as well. people are interested but lose interest once they get to the ad and see something. it is your job to find out what that something is. maybe price, logo, etc.
you are on the right track.

You need to test further. Try a different header / title. Try a different copy. Don't rely on 'people love it'. That could be friends or family just saying so to make you feel good (apologies if I am wrong).

Let people show their pleasure by buying. It is that simple. At 1.4% conversion, not many seem to 'like' your ad truth be told. Test, test and test. You may have to decide to drop it altogether if the copy is wrong or your price point for the product is unattractive.

I wouldn't continue with the shirt the way it stands. If you've spent nearly $50 and only have 2 sales, you're going to lose more money if you continue to promote that shirt using the current ad and/or design.

I've had shirts that people commented on and tagged their friends in the comments, but for some reason they didn't pull the trigger. Sometimes a change to the design can help boost sales. Other times, tweaking the targeting can help.

Don't get stuck on one design. If it isn't selling fast enough to turn a profit, kill it and move on to another shirt. In the beginning it hurts to kill a campaign that has a few sales, but losing campaigns aren't going to all of a suddenly become profitable just because you threw more money at them.

Don't get hung up on clickthrough rate too much. It doesn't really indicate how well a shirt is going to sell. You can have a clickthrough rate of 15%, but that doesn't mean anything if noone buys the shirt after they click through to it.

Forget paying for your traffic. I do a LOT of tee marketing.

I advocate media buys in general (I'd have to; I do enough) but there is simply no need for tee marketing. The solution is developing a STRONG social presence.

How many different ads have you tested?
Have you tried to split test between different teespring designs?

With that CTR I'm assuming it's a Newsfeed Image ad?

I think if you made 2 sales right away then it's worth pursuing further.

I don't think it's your ad copy or ad, it's your campaign setup. How many interests have you put in there? Are you using their tracking/conversion pixel? I typically run OCPM with Newsfeed Image ads as it works way better then CPC for me.

Is OCPM something different then CPM?

You just have to change and play around with the ads until you get the perfect one. You seem to be on the right track in a nutshell. I also heard of Adroll which is a PPC for physical products. Your products might sell better on that network instead.

You've got a great CTR for which you should keep going but with a little twist.

Are you running an optimization campaign with different ads (different images). If that's the case, pause the ads that are not converting very well and focus the traffic on the one(s) that is/are converting.

You might also check the exact demographics where the high CTRs as well as the 2 sales come from and focus on it.

Don't get emotionally connected with your shirts. You need to look at this game as a money in vs money out. If you are not in the profit after spending $20 then kill it and move on. There are only rare cases where I would spend more and that's if I have a ton of shares and comments with people saying they want it. Sometimes you will find late starters but it's very rare. I have found its best to run as many campaigns as you can and kill the losers as quick as possible. If I have a low CTR right out of the gate I will kill it. If it hasn't sold 2 or more after $20 spent I will kill it. Also make sure you are using someone professional for your designs. This game has gotten much more competitive so you need to have the best designs you can. I know there are crappy designs selling but there is a lot more going on behind the scenes on those.
