    Oh where to start?

I assume we are talking about free traffic so go with these

    Youtube videos
    Social media
    Document sharing
    Slideshare

These will be a good start

I used to run a ton of Amazon review sites.

Most of the traffic (if not all) was SEO based.

I would target long keywords, such as "Product Name Real Customer Review".

I think you're off to an awesome start with Twitter though. Twitter is a great way to get a ton of clicks if you can get some good followers.

I would say for review sites (in my experience), SEO is the bread and butter.

(I don't really have any experience buying traffic for anything other than promoting funnels + squeeze pages, so maybe someone else who has had success promoting a review site with paid traffic could chime in).

Also, maybe consider building some type of email list that's strictly for reviews, and send them an update with each new edition?

Food for thought, and I wish you nothing but the absolute best.

From my experience with 2 amazon review sites:

    1. SEO traffic is the best (I target long keywords like Sarevok mentioned above)
    2. twitter
    3. forums
    4. blog commenting

Yeah to elaborate on my earlier comment seo is easily the best type of traffic

This is how and why I use the above mentioned especially youtube videos to rank on the first page which creates valuable back links to your site resulting in your site ranking as well

To take things one step further hangouts outperform normal videos tenfold when it comes to ranking power

To me seo traffic is a result achieved by doing other things correctly first

I do not really focus on it besides the essential on page factors

Ironically I still get good rankings

Just don't try to game the system or you will get that dreaded slap

      Is it important? Hell yes

Do you need to worry about it too much? Not really

      Just my 2 cents

Build back links and target for low competition or medium competition keywords. Try Facebook and other social networks, you might have success there as well, forums are also a good source of traffic.

I'd say do video reviews or maybe even go a step further and ask product creators to do interviews. This will be great for your exposure.
You can build a list, one way to get that started is to put out a free WSO and direct that traffic to your website via email marketing.

    Cheers!

    Hi,
Like everyone have been saying, SEO traffic is the best.
Create a sitemap for your site and submit it to Google..
Build a few high quality links and point it to your website..

If you want to look outside Google, then I will recommend social networks and social bookmarking:
    Stumbleupon
    Pinterest
    Reddit
    Facebook.

Twitter doesnt really convert much when it comes to sales, so I wouldn't waste my time there!

Social media works best for review traffic. Also create an amazon account with your website name and start writing and posting reviews on amazon

It's great if you manage to get all traffic from serps. But If I own a quite new review website what to you think about combining serps traffic with some purchased traffic time to time? I saw companies like e.g. webtrafficgeeks offers good coditions and even money back guarantee.

Promoting links in my YouTube videos seems to work best for me. Oh, and the occasional plug on Twitter and Facebook.
