I would honestly recommend joining a coaching program. It will save you TONS of time and TONS of money. Plus you get a guaranteed return on investment. Trust me, every IM that is successful had a mentor.

He is 100% correct. A mentor keeps you focused and makes sure you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Without a mentor you may be prone to keep buying the next shiny object that comes your way.

Joining the right coaching program may save you tons of time and/or money, but there are a lot of programs out there that'll cost you a ton of money and leave you no better off than you were before you started. Watch the forums here for a while and you'll see countless people pass through who have joined programs and still have no clue how to make money online.

There are no guaranteed returns on investment with coaching programs. If one does make an income guarantee, I'd be very, very leery of giving them my money.

To state definitively that every IM who is successful had a mentor is painting with a very broad brush. I didn't have a mentor and have experienced a great deal of success. I'm sure there are quite a few others who have also managed to do very well on their own.

Years ago and perhaps now even people were offering private coaching, as I recall, for 1000's of dollars. Unless these marketers were picky about whom they accepted, it was a terrible scam for new marketers spending what could have been all the money they had in the world.

Agreed. There are tons people who provide private coaching but actually doesn't know what they are offered. In easy words, they took advantages on newcomers as these newcomers mostly know nothing. The real challenge is to search a real gurus that provide real training and real maps that will lead you into real business.

I am sorry, maybe here was not the correct place to ask, but anyone can suggest any private coaching or training that worth to join onboard?

          Thanks for sharing.

A mentor or coaching program isn't always the solution. You will probably find yourself reading all kinds of info until your face turns blue. No matter what you read and decide to do, make sure you follow this process:

    1) Find good niche

    2) Get site

    3) Get/create product

    4) Create squeeze page

    5) Lead folks to squeeze page (traffic generation, ex: PPC)

    6) Let your email autoresponder do the selling (Aweber, Getresponse)

    7) Get sales, put in backend marketing funnel

    8) Repeat steps 5-7

Of course it's possible to make money online!! It's possible to make money with anything.

With affiliate marketing, you may start with $100 investment (for domain, hosting, auto-responder). Cheap to get into but takes work to make money.

Took me two months to make my first dime when I started, but now I get checks in the mail every month and it keeps growing and growing.

    Hey man,

You came to the right place.

It is definitely possible to make money online, there are actually tons of ways to do so! Initial investment can be anywhere from zero to a million. Practically speaking and depending on what you're going to be doing, I'd say start off with $100 max on your first month, for your infrastructure and initial marketing. A few tips --

-there are a bunch of IM programs/products and get-rich scheme on the interwebs and, if something sounds too good to be true, there's a good chance it's crap
-if you see a Ferrari or Lamborghini on a sales video, AVOID
-a number of services you might need will likely come with a 30-day free trial
-whatever you pay for, look around for a coupon code
-for services, check this forum for alternatives
-if unsure about anything, ask questions
    -check reviews
-check the tick boxes to make sure you're not getting up-sells you don't need and double-check everything on checkout

As suggested above, I also agree on getting a coach. Tons of benefits with coaching. That said, there are a bunch of "coaches" and "gurus" out there who couldn't coach a fish to swim. Be cautious and treat IM like you would a real brick-and-mortar business -- do your due diligence.

Good luck on your IM endeavors

Avoid information overload! There are tons of IM products that will tell you how, when and where to get money from, but remember that acting will get us somewhere than reading and knowing. Focus your time and effort in one strategy or method, test it, tweak it and evaluate, when you see even little success try to scale up and move forward.

Of course treat it as your Business not a hobby. Love your work

Make sure you frequently visit this section on wf (Ad Networks (CPM/CPL, Display, SEM))

Read blogs like charlesngo.com, affplaybook blog, STM blog

Get an idea on what traffic sources you are interested in starting with and learning, research them more..
Start to dive in and ask questions as you go

The most important part is taking action
    Best of luck!

Basics are hosting, domain name and autoresponder.

The rest is your choice to which niche you are passionate with.

Those three tools is probably the cheapest out of your overhead cost and the most important in list building.

I know alot of warriors think that list building is crap! and for wussies!

But basically when I started building lists of customers, in my niches, I was able to quit my job, get married, and buy a house without a loan [cash down only]

I owe all this to 1 thing. list building!!! and list building only! Without learning how to list build you are not going to get very far in business.

How do you think guru's with a list or databases 800,000 strong make money. from sending emails. YES!

Basically they can click 1 button, send an email and make $10,000 USD while they sleep.

Its all done with list building, CLICKBANK will earn you money, but if you start learning to build lists, on clickbank you will go to the top 100 seller there pretty quickly.

We have tests very targeted marketing campaigns, and nothing works as good as building you lists up. Both freebie seekers, and then your PAID MEMBERS [like having gold in your pocket carried around with you]

So to answer your questions, if I lost my brain tomorrow, and had a pen to wire myself, a letter as I woke up....i would write in a big nikko pen BLACK...... "LEARN LIST BUILDING!"

If I have one regret, is is not building a list sooner for one of our bigger niches. So good luck and wish you all the best. Enjoy the wild ride coming :-) But I am sure you will do well.

It is entirely possible. Do some reading (plenty of free info here in WF), pick a tried and tested method, and take action. Test, track, tweak, scale.

If you do decide to go the coaching route, make sure to read all of the review, not just the testimonials that they highlight on their sales page. Not all coaches provide the same quality of training or the same level of attention.

I'm in a similar position myself and have just started my IM journey. There's lot's of mentioning about coaches but can anyone actually vouch for a coach out there right now that is genuine and doesn't cost $1000's to train with? or alternatively what programs can you say you have done and made money from and would recommend to a newbie?

    Cheers

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

My two best recommendations for phenomenal IM training programs are Ali Brown's Elevate program (ElevateBizTraining.com) and Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula (ProductLaunchFormula.com)

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!

Internet marketing a nutshell is creating a sales funnel (with products(digital or tangible) or services(ad copy, design etc) this is what they called the offer and then you need to drive traffic to that offer and then you get sales. List building is essentially traffic that can be used again and again.

Instead of just hopping from one course to course like most newbies, you need to find something you are passionate about and can help others before working on it.

But if you are someone not used to working by yourself in front of computer and need someone to handhold and guide you every step of the way, you need to find a mentor - preferably someone who shares the same vision as you but already succeeded in what you do and learn from him or her.

That is my best advice for you right now though others might have different answers for that.
