Graphical Salesletter Question...

Hi guys,

I have a WSO coming up with a partner and I'd just like to get this question out of the way. If I were to launch a WSO with the whole salesletter being graphics, what is the best way to place these sliced images onto the thread in the right order?

Also, what is the best format/size to save these sliced images without losing quality and making viewers wait forever each slice to load?

Here are the big three in web images:
    1. PNG uses loss less compression.
    2. JPG compresses more... however, it introduces artifacts and jaggies.
    3. GIF limits you to 256 colors and is not used anymore.

I just setup a web page and then do a scrolling screenshot. One image and a buy button.

I've never noticed any loss of quality.

Make sure you make your background match the "white smoke" of the forum and it will look great.

I always use PNG format for sales graphics, Of course it is advisable to slice it into smaller sections to increase load speed. Keep in mind that where you host your images will also affect the load speed.

I use jpg. It's smaller and loads a good deal faster than png. I use Photoshop to export the large image into smaller sliced images. Slice them from the top down and name them file1.jpg, file2.jpg, etc. so you know the order to place them in the file. I use 10 images since you are allowed 10 or 11 in a post. Using one big one is nuts. Not everyone has broadband and not everyone will sit around and wait forever for a page to load. I know I'm one that won't. The images should be 740 pixels wide.

      This.

I strongly suspect that the people who are using one huge .png typically have very little idea how many potential sales it's costing them!
