What payment options do you like besides PayPal?

Aside from PayPal, what is another good option to offer our affiliates to get paid? I'd like to keep things as simple as possible and not have to have 5 different payment methods, but obviously need to have at least 1 alternative to PayPal.

I was thinking of something like Payoneer, which anyone in any country to use if they don't want to use PayPal. That would allow them to receive their commissions right to their Payoneer prepaid MasterCard, or they could have the funds sent to their bank account, etc.

Do you think this is enough, or do we always need to offer a standard "old school" check option too?

Offering your affiliates an additional alternative to PayPal is certainly a good idea. I use PayPal, but I'm not willing to be paid my affiliate commissions that way.

Direct deposits into people's bank accounts will be very popular, if you can do it?

Payoneer's also a good alternative option.

I think not. Very few people want that. Even ClickBank has abandoned its former "2 checks rule" and now offers direct deposit payments (or bank wire transfers, to countries to which they can't do direct deposits) right from the start.

checks is still a viable payout method. Also e-wallet or a wire transfer from your bank.

      "Credit-card"?

Not so much, not with the modern banking/money-laundering regulations.

In practice, the only payments you'll be able to make to people's credit-cards, these days, are funds previously paid out from those same credit-cards, i.e. that wouldn't work at all.

    Thanks for the replies.

Payoneer will work, but it's an extra "hassle" for people who want/have to use it but don't already have an account.

If we could just send ACH/wire transfers directly to our affiliates that would certainly be the simplest I would imagine. I just don't think our bank (Wells Fargo) offers a convenient way to do lots of automated (or mostly automated) ACH/wire transfers on a weekly basis. Anyone know of a service for something like this?

You actually CAN send money to people with Stripe. They have something called Stripe for Marketplaces and another "program" as well, and both allow you to pay affiliate commissions, etc. to people's bank accounts. The only problem is that it only works in the US, and I'm looking to add a "backup" option to PayPal that works in all/most countries so I don't have to end up with 4 or 5 different payment methods.

Bank wire transfer is far and away the best way to go if you don't want to pay via PayPal.

Wells Fargo does offer this service https://www.wellsfargo.com/help/faqs/transfers/. I don't think it's possible to automate it completely, but you could always try and find a coder who could write a script to make the process easier.

Not really. There are services like webmasterchecks.com that allow you to fully automate the sending of checks to your affiliates - as simple as sending a mass pay via PayPal. They also offer wire and ACH payments, I'm just not sure it'll work for us in this situation ...

Ok, so I'm also looking for another payment processed other than paypal.

Is Skrill, Payoneer, Zaxaa the best alternatives to selling digital products or services online?

Paypal is the juggernaut and they can limit and put you on a six month wait and hold your funds for reasons unbeknown to most.

Who has used and had great success with other payment processors whether they are shopping carts or not?

        Hi Alexa,

The above quote is what gave me the impression that you do not like to receive your commissions from PayPal. And since you are mainly into affiliate marketing I assumed you just use ClickBank because you are paid by bank deposit even if the customer chooses PayPal for their payment option.

I can't quite remember! I think I made it ages ago at one of those free websites used (with varying degrees of legitimacy, because "resale" is sometimes prohibited in the TOS) by various Fiverr sellers to create such things. One could input one's own wording for the "options" and download the result, for use on blogs/sites/forums and so on. I've had it for so long that I can't now remember the url of the site where I made it; sorry.

No, not at all - I use a variety of things. It's perfectly true, though, that ClickBank does represent about 70% of my monthly IM income at the moment, and I receive that by direct deposit.

There are also countless other affiliate programs/schemes/networks not using PayPal (Amazon - which I also use - is just one other well-known example).

I certainly wouldn't want the security and reliability of my main income to be permanently and exclusively dependent on PayPal. (I'm much less uncomfortable with it being dependent on ClickBank.)

And the context of this thread, for the OP's purposes of paying his affiliates, one clearly wouldn't want to be entirely PayPal-dependent: for a start, one would be losing the potential to have any affiliates from "non-PayPal countries".

I understand not having all your eggs in one basket, but I also don't think it would be wise for the OP to seek affiliates from countries that PayPal will not allow to use their service. I think his question involves the eggs and the basket.

My question now is if you had the choice to promote 2 similar products that would benefit your list and one used PayPal, would that influence your decision?

My advice for another payment system would be to use authorize.net through a service like 1shoppingcart or zaxaa.com or even ClickBank if authorize.net is not to be used. These services give the customer the choice of using their credit card or PayPal without a bunch of extra work.

Plus 2 of the 3 suggestions give the OP the opportunity to pick up extra affiliates to promote his products.

            Best regards,
            Steve Yakim

Not sure. My instinct would probably be to promote them both, anyway, other things being equal.

I now promote so many different things in so many different niches that I probably wouldn't, in principle, mind having to process the affiliate-commissions for one additional product through PayPal, but of course that's a hugely different matter from having the bulk of one's regular, monthly income arriving that way, which many pro-affiliates would understandably find a rather scary proposition.

One of the reasons that I like Paypal is I like to minimize the ability for my personal banking information to be "hacked" I feel there is a certain degree of security with them. I also have a long standing positive relationship with paypal as they have been the payment gateway for my ecommerce site for 10 years.

This is why I like them as a payment processor as well as receiving payments from my affiliate ventures

Besides paypal? well I guess that depends on if you're buying or selling...

If buying I prefer paypal to all others. Why? because the refund policy is favorable to buyers and navigating is pretty straightforward.

If selling, I prefer a processor such as 2CheckOut. How come? because you have a team a people handling potential refunds for you, thus lowering chargebacks and refunds due to the personal, hands on approach they take.

I suspect that several of the replies above may have confused "bank wire payments" with "direct deposit payments".

          These are two different things.

"Wire payments" are normally characterized by their high cost. Many places (including ClickBank) paying affiliates by bank wire payments do so only to countries to which they can't make direct deposit payments.

I used to have some bad experiences with PayPal a few years back - but I feel as though they're changing now, and not as 'strict' as they once were with freezing your account etc.

Depending on what you're looking to sell PayPal is obviously the most recognized online payment processing software - but I did find this article, which contains payment processes for both affiliates and accepting payments in general:

So far Stripe looks promising (has the same 2.9%+ 0¢ per successful charge)

Merchantinc review according to Bsntech: Costs for Merchant Inc.
      - No Setup or Application Fee
      - BUT there is a $25 charge to verify your 'business entity' and charged within 30 days
      - 1.9% per transaction plus 25 cents plus 2 cents for an acquirer fee
      - 25 cents DAILY for days with successful payments
      - $7.95 per month - $6.95 a month goes to Authorize.net and the $1.00 goes to Merchant Inc (I guess? - they call it a $1 a month billing charge)
      - $4.95 per month - for regulation charges
      - $160 per YEAR for PCI Compliance
      - $30 per month if not PCI Compliant

The rest of the 4 below I haven't checked so lemme know.....
Zaxaa, Allied Wallet, Payoneer, Fastspring ?

As you can see I ONLY mentioned these cause I read negative reviews on other services: (like 2co/2checkout, googlewallet and skrill).
If you know any other, preferrably that accept Paypal payments its a plus

Skrill is a good option. The good thing with that is that the service is available to about 200 countries, if I remember right. On the other hand, Paypal does not allow withdrawal in many countries, even if they allow buying. So I suggest for paying your affiliates, especially if they are from remote locations, Skrill is a good option.
