We tend to complicate things. Maybe we are just looking for an excuse.

The simple things done over a long period of time will give you the best results.

Do you agree?

  • Yeah bro you're right man.

We are the ones who complicate success. Real success is not defined by things, or goals, or objects in my opinion. Real success is defined by your mindset, and what you become.

Like for example lets say as you read this you're fat and weigh 350 pounds! But you know you want to lose weight and slim down because if not you'll suffer from heart failure, and clogged organs and pipes and all that mumbo jumbo lol . . .

So then you see yourself losing over 150 pounds and getting down to 200 pounds within 1 or 2 years and you work at it.

Once you finally hit that weight objective, you're a success - and yes that's a goal you want to hit, but everyday working towards that goal requires you to have a certain mindset that cannot change in one way or another.

That mindset as long as you can maintain it on a long term basis will produce success in any area of your life!

In order to be successful, you really gotta focus and develop your mind to achieve the real you that you want to be.

I hope I didn't confuse you as you read through this, but at the same time I hope this was able to inspire you to be successful right now by changing your mindset!

    All the best,
    Michael

      Completely agree.

We need to have the right mindset and stop making excuses.

Success is the journey not the destination. Stop waiting for you to accomplish a goal in order to allow yourself to feel happy and successful.

If you are already working and giving your best everyday. You are a success and you WILL achieve your goals.

We all know that money doesn't make us happy. Beyond a certain level of security, having more money won’t make a difference – sure, you can always buy another gadget or splash out on a better bottle of wine, but will a few extra megapixels on your camera really matter?
A big bank balance might be nice to look at, but it can never replace the love of family and friends, or the sense of satisfaction gained by doing work which you enjoy and which is fulfilling. You could be earning $100,000 working a 60-hour week in a job which you hate … is that success? I’d say no, it’s not.

i would normally agree with much of what yo say ..but this doesn't fit this thread ..

money may not make people happy but it gives people options to do things that can make them happy that they otherwise would not be able to do..

i think the research i have read i believe dan gilbert may have put the number up once .. is between 70-80k usd a year is the line where more money starts having diminishing returns on providing happiness .

now people can parrot the money won't make you happy line all they want..it a great f'n cope after all..

but having no money ..or not enough ..does make people misserable and causes many to to things that they find degrading .

about 70-80 percent of people either strongly dislike or hate their jobs ..

so money may not make people happy but doing the wrong things to earn money or not earning enough money..makes a whole lot of people miserable.

again this thread is not about that ...we may not agree on what success is..but we may be able to agree that it is not getting up and going to a job you would rather not be doing in order to make money .

the way you make money in our society and much of the world is how you identify yourself to others .

the way you make money impacts how happy you can be or how much time you have to spend being happy .

so a basic definition of success would probably be making money doing something you enjoy doing that pays the bills and provides the lifestyle you desire .

which may mean that up to 20 percent of people can be considered successfull if they are doing jobs they like and have lifestyles they enjoy .

Great post! I know I have made my share of excuses over the years. I think success for me is a matter of making a decision and being committed to making it happen.

Reminds me of the book "The Compound Effect". Simple success habits done on a daily basis will add up over a long period of time.

You don't have to take massive action which usually leads to burn out within a few days. A more healthier approach is to take small daily actions on a consistent basis without fail, and eventually momentum will set in and you will start to get results.

Once you start getting results, you will be naturally motivated to take more actions, and then before you know it, you will find yourself taking consistent massive action. That is when you will reach the kind of success you dreamed of. It takes discipline and perseverance, but like I said, you don't have to spend 8 hours every day working on your business in the beginning, unless you really love what you do. It will be very hard to keep up that kind of work ethic for a long period of time, especially in the beginning when you aren't getting any significant results from your efforts.

So, focus on taking small daily actions towards achieving your goal.
