What drove you to become an online marketer?

Exactly right! Couldn't have said it better myself. Remember this, entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can't

Same here brother, and when you analyze the fact that most people get paid $10.00 (if even) PER HOUR for all the hard work they put in, just seems plain ludicrous

That's why I got into internet marketing back in December of 2002.

You would be surprised to know that most people here got into internet marketing just to be FREE from job. They never wanted hot cars or huge house. They just wanted FREEDOM.

Hahahaha! Now that you mention that, a lot of people with prior criminal histories who can't get jobs should always look into the endless possibilities of the online marketing world. I've seen cases where they succeed. That was their motivation

Excellent story my friend! Truly inspiring! That's the one thing I tell everyone, always BELIEVE you can--WILL do it. Without believing that you can, there's not much more to go but a 9-5 that will end in sheer misery. As for me, you're right on the ball, I love doing this and it's the one thing in life that has satisfied me while nothing else did. We just have to keep rolling with the punches and never forget where we came from.

I'm new here, and this is my very first post. What drove me to become an online marketer starting from just simply wanting to own my business. I simply had that idea when I was about maybe 14 to 15 years old. Throughout my high school and early years of college life of playing sports and school activities, I had developed a strong leadership ability in which I could easily encourage people, train people, and even make the people around better than they thought they were. I always loved that about myself and it made me realize that maybe later on in life I had to become an entrepreneur. I had to become a business owner.

Going through college though, I failed out during my first year. Got my first job that summer at Wal-Mart and it was okay. Went back to another school that fall semester. Failed out again before the semester was even over. I was playing basketball at the time at both colleges on scholarship too. Well after failing, my parents were extremely disappointed in me. I hated the feeling of them being disappointed so I tried getting a job and it took me a while to find one because I was smoking marijuana and couldn't pass a drug test. They didn't know I was smoking but they thought something was up and was disappointed even more that I didn't have a job right away. Well I found a job finally at a manufacturing company. It was alright, I knew it was something I'd never want to do though but it was a start. About seven months later, I got a new job as an Account Executive. Well it was alright, but I just honestly wasn't patient with the company's growth policy. I stopped going and my parents were extremely let down again. This is probably the worse I've ever felt in my life by this time. Suicidal thoughts and more. I didn't know what to do.

Well I went back to that manufacturing company and started reading up on the internet a lot about being financially stabled. I slowly started seeing things about making money online and the first internet-based business that I had thought about started was drop shipping business. I never started it but I had read a lot about it and took an immense amount of notes and even bought some books on the topic. I'm a very studious person, and I honestly love learning and the thought of reading all of that and taking that in put an excitement through my mind that maybe I can do this.

I didn't start the drop shipping business but with some internet business knowledge and more researching I had stumbled something called affiliate marketing. I found that it was easier than starting a drop shopping business and making money quicker and that excited me even more! Right away I went to reading voraciously upon this topic of affiliate marketing and watched numerous YouTube videos. I found the marketing platform that you all most likely know about, ClickBank.

I am now currently in the process of starting my business through ClickBank with some ideas that I've come up with myself, and I'm looking to stay motivated. I have a vision that my future will be as bright as ever. I feel as if all those times I failed, was to put me exactly in the situation that I am currently in. The BIGGEST motivation that I have right now is believing in myself and my future. Making my parents proud and living a lifestyle I want. Traveling the world anytime I want to. Raising my future children in the best environment that I can. I want to peacefully in bliss. That is why I became an online marketer, and that is why I will stick to it.

After a 20 year sales career I wanted to get off the road and stay at home and make money. I was intrigued by the Internet and using it to sell as opposed to selling face to face. It took me 4 years of part time Internet marketing to be able to quit my job and do this full time now since 2006. You just can not beat the 30 second commute to work everyday.

It's definitely all about time/freedom. Do YOU want to be in control of your time, or do you want someone else to be in control of it? It's strange to me how so many people don't want to work for themselves, though....they just want to show up to some place and give their entire day to someone in return for chump change. Sure, some jobs pay a decent amount of money, but if you work for someone else there will ALWAYS be a limit as to how much you can/will make...if you work for yourself there is no limit.

The sense of fulfillment knowing you created or provided something that other people find useful and want to throw money at you is indescribable. Yes, there can be long days, but as someone once said, when you love what you do, you've never worked a day in your life.
