Self-development audio

Do any of you use audio tapes that help you to focus on your goals, increase salesmanship, and so forth?

I am by nature an introvert, but not enough of one to disbelieve that I could actually learn to become a better saleswoman if I had some encouragement. I feel my mindset needs adjusting, but I don't have anyone in my personal sphere who could help me with that.

I read the other day that Susan Blakely (inventor of Spanxx) used to listen to Wayne Dyer a lot as she was trying to sell fax machines before she self-engineered her big break. In a TED talk she recounts driving around the block many times trying to psych herself into going in and making the sale. She benefited from Dyer.

Anybody here who uses such materials and feels having been helped?

Thanks.

All of these are AWESOME suggestions. Daily reading and audio will boost your mind to levels of "unconscious competence" beyond your present belief. Our mind is still one of the greatest undiscovered places in the world we live in today. We all have the ability to create and shape our lives simply by change of thought. As Earl Nightingale said "We Become What We Think About". This simple phrase has unlocked some of the greatest achievements known to man. Our mind is very fertile so be careful also what you place in it because It will give that very "thing" back to you. The subconscious part of you absorbs and retains a lot more than you can and it sends electric signals through your body, which can affect you physically therefore make sure what you put in is uplifting and empowering. Writing also helps in a variety of ways. Your brain uses so many signals when you write which can literally help change your thought and the way you view yourself as well. (i.e your goals, affirmations, etc) Enjoy your journey even when it gets challenging because in the end...it will be worth it.

Hi Roz, even I am an introvert by nature. Few years back, one of my mentors gave me an affirmations audio. The first time I heard it, I fell in love with affirmations. It was like being reminded of your positive traits that we all too quickly forget or underestimate. I listened it almost regularly for the past 3 years, and have had felt much better about myself and my outlook towards life.

Few months back, I decided to create my own affirmations. I had it created by a professional and I give it away to my subscribers. You can download it from here (no opt-in):

Informational and motivational audios have really changed my entire life.

Listening to these type of audios on a daily basis, is one of the keys to success in life. The outcomes in your life, are a reflection of what you put inside of your mind.

They say in order to become successful, you gotta surround yourself with successful people. If you are broke and don't got any good and successful friends - then what you can do is LISTEN to successful people through audios. Your brain will not know the difference.

When you listen to people through audios, your brain thinks they are actually next to you. You tricked your mind, and that is how you scale up to accomplish maximum success.

Listening to these type of audios is actually one of the key ingredients to become successful online very fast. I have learned this myself, from the top leaders online.

My life and business changed for the better once I started listening to audios DAILY.

So yeah, this technique definitely works!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!

Thanks for that link, jimmy. Very powerful stuff.

I love that voice of Earl Nightingale.

      =============

Thanks, freedomblogger, it's funny but even though I normally prefer transcripts because I can read at my own speed etc instead of having to listen to a webinar, with these types of talks I prefer to actually listen. It has a bigger impact, like you say, as if the person were speaking directly to you.

Listening to audio everyday and reading a motivational book everyday is the KEY to your success.

Many successful people online do this all the time.

You can't watch the news, have negativity in your life, and expect good results.

Thankfully, the Internet is like an oceanic abyss and there's no shortage on self-dev material. Head over on YouTube and slap a few keywords there, you'll come up with plenty.

I use audio myself, but I don't believe it's anything like what is being discussed here.

What I use for concentration and studying is called "Aural Entrainment"

Using music with specific sound waves associated with brain activity I look to achieve. There is a lot to know on this topic. In two articles I have written it still only covers a few areas of aural entrainment.

Also, on a broader scale referring to brainwave entrainment as a whole may also include visual stimulation. (This I haven't been involved with yet)

On my website, you can download 20 free MP3 from the sidebar.

I listed to audiobooks all the time. I find it easy to soak up content while on the go (walking, driving, at work, etc.)

Absolutely! That's a bit 10-4 good buddy - got your ears on?

I listen to a podcast a day - sometimes two or three plus motivational videos. Couldn't cope without them especially if I happen to get a splash of poison from a new broadcast. The best tool will be your smart phone. Use the podcast and search, search search. I'm getting a lot of requests for my book to be narrated for exactly that reason - people want to listen to something uplifting as they do other things or relaxing, driving, walking...etc

You're on the right track, get as much audio into your brain as possible and also as Tal mentioned - read at least 10 minutes from any motivational or uplifting book you can get your hands on.

I use them all the time, during the day for total focus and concentration, 30 min. audio meditation in the middle of the day for goals and an hour long audio with binaural beats and subliminal messages to go to sleep to.

The night time one knocks me out like a light and I sleep like a baby feeling energized every morning.

I make my own audios, there is nothing like hearing subliminal messages in your own voice to get results faster than you ever thought possible, it's amazing.

Like everyone else here I too have benefited greatly from listening to self improvement and motivational authors. Some of my very favorites that I would recommend anyone check out are: Anthony Robbins, Jim Rohn, W. Clement Stone, Brian Tracy, Dan Milman, Denis Waitley and Earl Nightingale.

For those that are looking for that extra edge in focus and attention I highly recommend you look into "Holosync" by Centerpoint Research. It's an audio system that utilizes binaural wave patterns to achieve whole-brain-synchronization. For myself it is the most beneficial and powerful mood and focus booster I have ever come across. Also a great addition to meditation.

I start my day with some nice music instead of the traditional alarm sound.
Then either listen to a music or a podcast e.g. Brooke Castillo, Mixergy, Entrepreneur on Fire, Ask Altucher

My alarm is the audiobook 'Greatest Salesman in the World' in Og Mandino's own voice where he talks about how you are a new person today.

    Yes!!

Audios are fantastic. There is something about hearing someones voice over and over that is different than just reading. Its another way to really change your own internal dialogue. The more you listen, the more you will start thinking differently.

And if you want better results then you have to think differently.

There are so many people that will give you stories just like Sara's of how they listened to audio tapes over and over again and it changed their life.

And with the internet these days and the accessibility to great materials being so easy, to find great content.

Definitely do it! Even if its just 15-20 minutes a day. It will change how you feel.

  • I absolutely love listening to self improvement mp3s!! I especially like listening to the secret audiobook. I find them so effective and they have changed my life. I started listening to them on my way to work every morning and it's like they set up my entire attitude, mindset, and posture for success and positivity. I'm not saying that everything is perfect when I listen to them, but I have noticed that I am able to keep a more positive attitude when dealing with negative situations.
