What drives you to be successful

I am living with the inability to write (dysgraphia), to do arithmetic (dyscalculia), to see or feel fingers (finger agnosia) and to tell left from right (left-right disorientation). The name given for this is Gerstmann Syndrome, a brain disease acquired after bleeding in the brain during a stroke or traumatic head injury. As a kid, there was not much I could aspire to be, because even one single story of someone overcoming the inability to write, to do arithmetic, to see or feel fingers, and to tell left from right to find success in a career does not exist. So I did not quite know if people like me could have a career, or contribute to society. I tell myself it is not about having the skill to do something, it is about having the will, desire, and commitment to be your best. I think the challenge of finding success is what pushes me to my goals and beyond.

I may be different than some people. My Success is not something predicated in getting buildings named after me ( Donald Trump) or starting a small business and building it with 100s or thousands of employees.

    Nope !!

What drives me to be successful is to have Freedom.

Freedom that money can give you.

For me, that is having the ability to have a HUGE presence in my kids' lives.

That is above everything. Also, to have the freedom to do things I REALLY truly Love.

Traveling, play sports, volunteer work, Church, music.

This is the stuff I live for.

I do not care about having a 5 million dollar house ( Iam happy with my 200K one ) or 10 Lambos. I have no desire for that stuff.

Iam pretty simple and Freedom to do what I want has and always will be the driving force behind my desires

  • What drives me to be successful is my family. I want to make sure I am the best father figure I can be to my children. I can't even bear the thought of not trying my hardest for them to have a good life. I am driven by them to make sure that they have positive memories of my wife and I and their childhood.

Also, keeping myself focused on self improvement by reading books, blogs, and forums like this one has motivated me to become successful as well.
