Please Stop Calling Yourself 'Newbies'. It's Irritating...

This has been bothering me for a while. There are thousands of people around here that keep calling themselves Newbies.

That is like calling yourself a Rookie.

Yes you are new and yes you will need to learn new skills but calling yourself a NEWBIE makes you sound very cheap, little and unworthy.

The truth is...you are worthy and will not be successful with your endeavours until you realize this.

Try to refrain from calling yourself a newbie even if you need a question answered.

Just because you say something like "Help for a Newbie" doesn't mean that you will get better answers.

Just ask your question.

Why does this bother me?

Because I Know that 'inside' each of you (everyone of you) is a sleeping GIANT that is dying to come out.

Let him or her out:

    i disagree ..

people who self identify as a newbie ..fall into two groups.. those are just stumbling around and not really helpable.. and those looking for some help from someone who is at least less new and can offer help.

Being a newbie is part of the process ..staying one.. not soo good

You're only a newbie if you say you are.

You're only good if you say you are.

You're only great if you say you are.

This is something that applies to everyday life, not just IM. The world bothers me too brotha

I think that what Rory is saying is that when you call yourself a newbie
    you are selling yourself short.

Remember that perception is reality. So if you just perceive yourself as
a newbie, then you are not giving yourself enough credit.

Just because you are not a "guru" doesn't mean that you are a newbie.
But then again, they say it takes 10,000 hours to fully master a task...

Inspirational post but the truth is that if you really want to go from being a newbie to an expert you need to take the time to read & research what you are interested in learning about. This is what really takes alot of time for most people & not everybody has the patience to become a master of their niche.
