Overcoming Fear Of Failure

I thought I would write something about "failure" as I know it's something many people struggle with.

My younger Brother (Erny who's making $10,000+/month with SEO) once gave me a quotation from Ruben Gonzalez which read: "There's no such thing as failure. Either you get your desired outcome or you learn: Either way, you win."

So that's the first thing to understand. When you learn something from failure you're actually closer to accomplishing your goal(s).

As IBM Founder Thomas J. Watson said: "Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It's quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. You're thinking of failure as the enemy of success, but it isn't at all. So go out and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because, remember, that is where you will find success." Are you starting to think differently about "failure?"

To sum up the last two points: Every failure is a stepping stone (when you learn something from it) that will make you more successful.

If you're still afraid of "failure" then I have a couple of techniques that may be helpful:

1. First, make it a point to "quantify" what you're afraid of. As GoDaddy Founder Bob Parsons' said: "With regard to whatever worries you, not only accept the worst thing that could happen, but make it a point to quantify what the worst thing could be. Very seldom will the worst consequence be anywhere near as bad as a cloud of undefined consequences."

2. Similarly, as Susan Jeffers recommended ask yourself: "What's the worst that could happen?" Much more than likely you will be able to deal with whatever happens even though it's unlikely. (Actually, if you follow the advice in this post, you will do much better.)
Like any time you experience fear, there's an opportunity to be courageous. (In fact the more afraid you are of something, the more courage it takes to act in spite of that fear.) So as one last point, consider Bruce Lee's advice and:

"Feel the fear and do it anyway!"
