How to stay focused, motivated and passionate about business?

It's very easy to loose motivation in business specifically if it is not working or your in process of building the empire. So how do you stay focused and motivated such that you work for 16 hrs a day and still wish to work more? Many people told me that you should visualize the end result or reword (such as big home, dream vacation, new car etc). However that doesn't seems to work with me. How do I stay very focused towards my business and goles?

Maybe a big home, dream vacation, new car are not things you really want.

Why did you start this journey ... what did you hope to gain?

As far as knowing your goals ... a friend once asked me ... if you could get up tomorrow morning and do anything/go anywhere/be whatever you wanted ... what would that look like. That could be a goal!

I'm not certain that working 16 hours per day is at all healthy. I could see thinking about your business 16 hours per day would be legitimate. But if you are literally sitting in front of a computer for 16 hours per day, I have to wonder if maybe your time is not being spent wisely.

surely, there are some other ways you could be planning your business, going for a walk and talking over your plans with a trusted friend, getting on the phone with people and talking to them while you're outside enjoying a nice day, and more.

there is someone out there who is willing to pay you may be as much as double what you're making now but you haven't found them yet. You need to work on positioning yourself to be more valuable in some way.

Maybe you should visualize a million hits or just being able to work from home without having a boss. I think the 2nd one would be my ultimate goal

But I don't have celerity about goal. All that I know is that I want to do business. A business that excites me and have fun doing it.

I am invoked in online business because I want to make money (to be very frank) and that my education belongs to programming for which there is less demand in offline.

I am sorry for my English, "16 hrs a day" was metaphorical expression. What I wanted to convey is that If my business demands than I should be able to work for 16 hrs a day. How can I get that excitement?

I don't have boss. I finished my education and directly went for business.

In my opinion, here are the two most important things:

    1) You've got to love what you do

By this, I don't just mean loving it when it's going well and you're doing fun work. You have to love the tough times. You have to love those grueling hours when you're about to fall asleep on your keybaord.

You've got to love the hardest part about what you're trying to accomplish, or it will be tough to stay motivated.

But if you love it, if you truly enjoy putting in hours and hours of labor to achieve your dream, you'll never struggle to find motivation.

    2) You've got to provide value to society

Helping people live better lives is a grand motivator.

It doesn't matter how big or small of an impact you're making. If you frame your business and your work as, "I'm helping these people improve their lives" you'll find the motivation to keep pushing through those 16 hour days.

And, as an awesome side benefit, the more value you provide to people, the more money you'll make. They tend to be parallel.

    @Michael Karp

Thank you for your suggestion. I totally missed providing value to society.
I really love coding / designing but when it becomes too hard I just give up.
Thanks again for your input, very helpful.
