The law of attraction, do you believe on it ?

Hello,

Do you believe on the Law of attraction ?

Some years ago i discovered The book called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and also i watched the movie The Secret, and this helped me change my thinking and shift my paradigm.

If you don't know what is the law of attraction i recommend you to watch the movie The Secret on youtube.

I want to know what do you think about this, and if you have some success stories using the law of attraction.

Thanks.

It definitely works... just look backwards to prove it.

I know for a fact everything I have now, and my entire situation, was at one point just a thought it my head. But I used to let the thoughts in my head be dictated by everything and everyone around me.

But when you know that, you can CHOOSE the thoughts in your head to ** consciously ** direct your future. I have made some amazing things happen just by visualizing it, taking small inspired action and everything kind of falls into place.

  • Sup Millionaire!

Being that I have 4 Certifications in The Law Of Attraction, I would be a hypocrite if I didn't believe in it LOL.

With that being said, I first learned about The Law Of Attraction when I first watched The Secret and the rest is history. We are ALWAYS using the Law 24/7/365 whether you consciously realize it or not!

The thing that confuses most people about LOA is that you attract what you want with your thoughts, but that is only partially true. THE TRUTH is that you CREATE What You Want With LOA by how you FEEL!

So, the Ultimate Goal is to Feel Good Now and if you can't Feel Good, Commit To Feeling BETTER and watch how your Life changes naturally for the better.

    Yours In Prosperity,

There are a lot of stretched explanations for how the law of attraction works, such as magnetic-type pulling, quantum physical mechanisms, universe rearrangement, etc...

Rather than trying to explain it at that level, I prefer to look at the individual practices that are common in LOA, such as affirmations, visualization, and positive attitude.

Each of those components have a strong, verifiable history of producing results.
        1. Affirmations: repetitive messages to drive your behavior. This is the backbone of the advertising industry. TV and radio ads are effectively "affirmations" being used on you. Why not use this same technique on yourself to get back in charge of your own behavior?
        2. Visualization: this is used modern sports, space programs, and more. There is a famous study that compared improvements in free-throw shots across three groups: one that did actual physical practice, one that practiced mentally, and one that did not practice at all. Groups 1 and 2 improved the same amount, where group 3 showed no improvement. And as with affirmations, advertisers are big users of visualization to drive your behavior.
        3. Positive attitude: having a positive outlook let's you see opportunity, helps you associate with other positive people, and generally take on activities that negative people avoid. I recommend reading The Happiness Advantage to see the wealth of data on this topic and how happiness is shown to be a precursor of success.

So does LOA work because of unknown forces? Perhaps. Do its practices provide the results for more concrete reasons? Undoubtedly.

Asking this question as posed by OP, is like asking if you believe in the law of Gravity.

It doesn't matter much if you believe in it or not in order for results to show up. The LOA is a description of how the world works. Some people wrote it down and gave it a name in an effort to explain how things are in the world.

Now if you decide to use this idea to your advantage by using the principles and practices, that is a different story.

Some people believe this is possible and some do not. Personally, I do believe we can consciously influence the world at large, I see evidence of this everyday. You actually don't need to go outside the WF to see evidence of this.

All you have to do is read some thread posted about some awful issue with Facebook ads, or getting kicked out of a CPA network or something liek that to see lots of people climbing onboard and sharing their stories.

The LOA works for any kind of thought, not just positive ones.

I believe one needs to get his/her mind right. A positive mental attitude is needed but above all else you need to take action. I don't believe law of attraction by itself can replace hard work.

I believe that if you have faith and you take action, you will get closer to reaching your goals and making your dreams a reality. I believe the magic happens when you combine the two.

There are some people who actually believe you can positively think your way to success. From my experience, positive thinking does help, but you still need to have the ability to take consistent action towards achieving success.

Law of attraction is nothing without action taken. Sure, positivism helps. Sure, having a vision push you forward. But you have to discipline into taking action constantly, because the benefits of feeling good is taking every single opportunity that reveals to you. That's the only difference between a winner and a loser .

I recently discovered the teachings of Tony Robbins, especially the Awaken the Giant Within , and it really gave me a better vision to apply the positive thinking into my life, and not just wishing fairy tale wonders that just happen.

So yea, i believe in The Secret, but it's not enough. You also have to apply and use it everyday to work. Just my opinion

There was interesting exchange of opinions between King Manu and Sunray about positive thinking and action.

My experience is 100% with King Manu. Positive thinking does not always automatically lead to action. The reason is that we feel so good with our small achievement of positive thinking, that we don't want to act in order not to loose this good feeling

However, I did not talk about positive thinking (which is a very good thing). Subconscious programming always makes its way into the outer reality. Action or no action, if your subconscious mind is filled with wealth, it finds a way to your life one way or the other. And if it is filled with poverty, ideas that rich people are bad, money corrupts etc., no matter how much money is put into your hands, you get rid of this dangerous stuff very quickly.

Sunray, still stick to my opinion.

Even if your subconscious mind is filled with wealth - then life will be giving you many chances (opportunities) to achieve it, but wealth will not be drawn to you automatically. You still have to act (to create). You still have to bring the courage of acting.

Even Jesus and Budha had to act (with a bit different goals than to achieve wealth but id does not matter for this discussion). Jesus had the idea in his mind to help people with his teaching, and so he was given the opportunity, but it took from him the decision to get crucified (to act) to implememt it.

Fortunately to get riches we don't need that level of courage. But we do need some courage of acting, of realizing the opportunities.

What needs courage is to exceed the existing level. You are actually doing MORE than your subconscious mind is set to. By this process you are slowly shifting the barrier a little further - training your subconscious to the new circumstance. But it is possible to make improvements in other ways too. Under hypnosis people have overcome their fears very quickly. You could walk on a rope put between two skyscrapers without even discerning why it's such a great deal.

Actually, it is enough. It is enough at the subconscious level. Sure, you need action, but having the right programing makes all action automatic. And on the other hand, having negative programming will sabotage your every hard action, and you'll never get any positive results.

LOA is just a scientific description of how the world works. It's just like the law of gravity. Is gravity witchcraft?
Further, G-d created man in his image, that is, to be a co-creator. To know LOA is to just create more consciously, that's all.

I'd also recommend this Youtube video of Rabbi Taylor on the subject (make sure you watch all the 4 parts!).

    Bottom-line...

...you conjure up demonic spirits to get the things
    of your wicked, sinful heart.

It's not that LOA doesn't work. It's that it does. And
the devil does the work to give you what you want
so you keep believing in false doctrine and familiar
    spirits.

    Why?

The devil is the monkey in the barrel. He aims to
pull ALL humans down with him into hell and the
    lake of fire.

If you die in your sin, you will perish...right along
with all the nice "things" the devil seduced you with.

...repent from your sin, turn to Jesus Christ, seek
to follow him and his Holy ways and he will reveal
what I'm saying as the Truth.

LoA has nothing to do with anything you just mentioned. It feels as if you're purposefully trying to misunderstand, which is sad.

I just think of LoA as the foundation for your reality; what goes on in your mind tends to create itself in your physical world.

The nice thing about it is that it fits in with most beliefs pretty well because it's so universal. You can think of LoA religiously or as a secular doctrine and it still works. You'd have to be a hard determinist who believes that brain neurons are just lifeless matter to have a serious foundation against LoA.

Yes, I do believe in the LOA and have made it work in my life on many occasions. To me, it seems like pretty basic, common sense stuff. What you put energy into thinking about - what you focus on, and especially, what you put effort into as a result of those focused thoughts - you draw towards you and bring in to your life. Simply put, you are creating your reality.

It's a skill that you have to practice at every day, like any other skill or talent that you want to master. Over time, it becomes easier to do and the results can come quicker. It can be mind-boggling when you realize that you are getting what you specifically asked for, sometimes even getting more than that. The more you open up to this way of living, the more you practice, the more effort put forth, the more you get out of it.

If you really want to get into it and make it work for yourself, dive deeper and read and watch more than just The Secret book(s) and movie, as they are just starting points. Type into Google and Youtube "mind over matter", "law of attraction", "reality creation" and any other keywords that pertains to the subject matter. Read, watch and practice, practice, practice!

On a side note, LOA can be helpful, but not ultimate.

Yes of course LOA works, if you think it does not you really do not understand it.

The LOA is sometimes simplified as "Ask, Believe and Recieve". I think it really should be expressed as Ask, Believe, Act and Recieve. Taking positive action with the belief that you will be successful will lead to positive results.

One of the ways that I know the law of attraction works in by observing my own older brother (very sad actually). Unfortunately he dwells on very negative things, he believes he will have negative things happen to him. He takes no positive action but does take many negative actions and he regularly recieves many negative things in his life.

In my own life I have been able to use it for acheiving positive results.

acctually technically using flames to execute someone is against islam .. but there is a code i forget what it was ..but if you are going to execute a killer you can kill them the way they killed people ..and where the pilot dropped bombs that burned people alive ..this is how the barbaians who want to return the middle east to the 8th century ..justified useing flames ..

as for the starving kids in africa ..thats the west fault for destroying local farmers with forien aid ..and creating an environment where many of the leaders in africa will let populations starve to get aid from the west give some to the people and sell the rest on the black market so they can live well..

it is like the generations of people in america who have been trained to be on welfare and purposly under educated but political class ..so they either have more children or can be in put in prison ..

the systems train and condition people and that gets passed on to the children

The LOA has existed since Biblical times and before- tho going by various names or no name at all.

LOA is mentioned both directly and indirectly throughout the Bible and as a spiritual law is always at work no matter if it is believed in or not.

Currently, it has been rebranded as LOA - and will work as well as it ever has.

A more well known - but related - spiritual law being that of sowing and reaping, even better known as the new age repackaged Karma ( tho a watered down version of the far more powerful sowing and reaping ).

  • I believe the law of attraction and it is something I work on daily. Your sub-conscious is picking up all the information around it, so to stop you from going insane it filters out most of information and brings your attention only to certain important information.

Ever wonder why when you want buy a certain model car, you start to see that particular model everywhere. It’s not like that model car started magically appearing everywhere, it was just your sub-conscious was filtering it out. That is why it’s so important to pay attention what you are focusing on because you’ll tend to notice what you focusing on.

In the movie ‘The Secret’ they concentrate a lot on feeling good. This is why, your thoughts create your actions, your actions create habits and your habits determine your success or failure. So by simply upgrading yourself at the source, your thoughts, you begin to improve your entire life.

I believe in it and see it all around me. Whether one believes in it or not does not determine if their lives will be different.

Belief in the self is the most powerful attribute one could have.

But I would say that Like Attracts Like and that is the Law of Attraction at it's simplest. You don't have

to believe in it for it to work....it's always working.....Jennifer

  • The Law of Attraction is always at work, whether you believe in it or not. As someone else stated, it's like the law of gravity. It's always working. Where the belief comes in is where you have to decide if you believe in yourself and your ability to get in harmony with this law. Just as the Wright brothers believed they could get in harmony with the law of gravity in order to work with it to get a plane off the ground to fly.

The Law of Attraction is merely the tip of the iceberg in the realm of the Laws of the Universe. There are MANY laws that are invisible, but always working. The more you are aware of these laws, the more you will abundance you will find in your life. I highly suggest the book, Working With the Law, by Raymond Holliwell.

I believe in it - but I think "The Secret" was a somewhat commercialized version of the Law of Attraction. I think it told people what they wanted to hear and left out some important aspects.

All the authors of the book took massive action to become successful. None of them sat on their couch and simply thought about what they wanted and it magically came to them.

But when you are clear about what you want then you'll notice opportunities that arise and you'll have the conviction to act.

It's much more fun if you call it The Force

I suffered from deep depression for years after childhood bullying due to being an out of towner and I had a bit of a speech impediment and unfortunately I let the after effects of this influence my self confidence for years. I watched The Secret when it first came out and took in everything. I believe just watching this was the kick start I needed to really start to change things. Rather than letting my past dictate my future, I started to improve everything in my life and make the changes I needed to make to become a better person and become successful. Just positive thinking is not enough, you can think I want to have a million in my bank within 18 months all you want, I guarantee you will not have it. Goals, planning and accountability are everything. Mix those 3 with a can do attitude and positivity and you have a pretty good near perfect recipe for achieving YOUR goals. That's how I work these days. So yes, The Secret and LOA was a great kick starter for me, it made me believe in myself, but do I rely on just positive and wishful thinking? No, definitely not.

I like to think it wont do anything for you, besides open doors. I once did something once, quite intense. For almost an hour, wiht visualisation and constant affirmation and feeling, etc.

I just sort of daydreaming as I was doing "that".

On the same day in college some kid approached me about an mlm. My first ever, and of course he was like "you want to make money? Get a sharp suit and meet me at this hotel....etc." The mlm dropped, never made a penny with it and wasted my time....

But from it I met a few business partners that have showed me into real businesses that Im making money with now. I also met a lot of outgoing people. I was about 17/18 then and so this was all quite valuable to me.

The fact is, a big door was opened in my life and I walked it. It was all kind of too much to be just a coincidence. The guy who invited me to the mlm never really spoke to me and there were MANY MORE individuals to choose from than me. Regardless I did "that" in the morning and on the same day it started. Slowly, slowly over the next few months ways of making money 'appeared' in my life.Prior to that day in my life ZILCH nothing.

Something important I must notice is I never have done any postive thinking or any other BS staff that can be traced back to the new age community of BS lightworkers. I love physical exercise and I love chilling in nature, but new age movement just sounds dumb to me. I personally think there is a lot of pure BS in that the secret movie as well as the movement that you can find on the internet. Most people on youtube that talk about it never get much out of it because they are bunch of ..... [fill in the gap yourself...]

What does work however, is feeling, devotion and self-discipline (or persistance). If you're planning to do this one thing go ahead pray to your god or your 'higher self' or 'your angel' or 'your genious' or 'an energetic sphere above your head that guides you' wahtever you believe. And when I say pray I don't mean worship, I mean ASK. You have the right to ask for things in life. The visible universe alone is big and has a lot of everything - abundance. If you want something you can have it, but you MUST WANT IT!

You will be asked to confirm your desire MANY times and in 'HARD' ways, keep going you will have it eventually. As long as its possible, as in you are NOT asking for north africa to be flooded tomorrow and be visited by ufos, AND you can see yourself doing, IF you have AT LEAST a rough, approximate image or plan in your mind of how you could go about achieving your goal then YES it will happen as long as you keep at it.

The only law here is you reap what you saw and where theres will there IS a way!. If anyone could just magickally "attract" money haha are you telling me billions of poor africans and indians and wahtnot have not discovered this by mistake somehow? They have all day to daydream pretty much....People make so much fuss about religion and now, we never had this great knowledge until that money making film came out? Please...there is no magick pill that the fbi is hiding which could make you superhuman and fulfil all your dreams.

Theres no voodoo in this world my friends, only children who struggle with life and adults who master and live life living in a physical universe that works by very scientific laws....

Go to the gym, take care of your health, stay celibate, be mindful, be virtuous, be kind and humile, be persistent with your self and merciless too.

You can do it, never stop dreaming.

I think it does work. I believe in it. I think it is more complex than many people really give credit. The key, in my experience, is like internet marketing--consistency and action.I'm no expert, but I'm a student and that is just as important.

LOA is a stereotype gimmicky word but there's that something else behind it, that works.

You can call it magical universe or however you'd rather do so.

The machinations of the mind can create miracles. Either you engulf it and get back on your craft, or keep acting as a simpleton and accept your destiny.

I spake so it'll be done.

Well, I'm not so worried if it works. Just like goal setting, does it works?
Some people set goals and achieve them. While some people set goals but don't achieve them.
Whether it works or not, it depends on the person.
Actions are required for things to happen.

However, one thing that is good about LOA is that it can motivate people.
Whenever you dream about your dreams, this at least drives you to take action, hopefully.

The law of attraction will not bring you a house or a car if you just think positively

The law of attraction puts you in a positive space were you think of ideas and met the right people that brings about the opportunity for you to get whatever you want.

so it works but it also entails hard work.

Oh yes! It works great in my case..... I am a very strong believer that you can attract anything in your life if you keep on thinking about it. I have also heard lot of stories about it.

Yeah, it has a psychological basis I believe.

If you focus your thoughts on certain things, the more likely your Reticular Activating System will pick up on it. It's somewhat similar to how when you get your paycheck you see stuff you want to buy, when you're looking for a job you suddenly see "Now Hiring" signs everywhere, and how when you want to earn money new business ideas start popping into your head.

None of it will work unless you act though, but magic will happen if you get that inspiration to start working on it. If you desire it enough, you'll find ways to achieve it.

Do I believe in the law of attraction? Yes I do

That being said, there are quite a number of charlatans within the LOA niche who spout a lot of mystical nonsense. I wont name names but some of them appeared in the Secret, and have been using that as leverage to spout even more nonsense ever since. Their celebrity status is built on telling people want they want to hear, as opposed to telling them what they need to hear.

Whenever I see someone peddling BS like "Discover the 3 secret steps to unlocking the law of attraction" I can't help but shake my head with total irreverence. I'd love the opportunity to ask these fakers "So tell me oh wise one, what research procedures did you use when figuring out the intricacies of our universe? Where can I read your peer reviewed and empirically proven evidence?

The best we literature we have on LOA is still Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. The worst IMO is the Secret. The best speaker on the subject today is probably Bob Proctor, and he has been for a while. He was also in the Secret but his track record is proven. He's been teaching people this stuff for decades and has the results and testimonials to prove that he knows what he's talking about.

Guess what Bob Proctors favorite book is? Its Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Go figure

If this hasn't been mentioned before check out the book E2 by Pam Grout. Its a set of experiments designed to prove there is a force in this universe that is moved by your thoughts. I don't believe that you can ask upon the universe/god anything you desire, and it will manifest from nowhere. I believe you must manifest it through action. How someone can think a open parking spot right in the front of the store and make the car that's already there disappear sounds impossible yet, there are claims this always happens for them. Look up quantum mechanics and then quantum mechanics and consciousness and it will surely blow your mind.

I have definitely had success with the law of attraction (one of my mentors calls it the law of creation, as we are creating what we desire in our life)

It is a skill that I am building up, I think that there are many labels which are attached to this process which robs it of serious consideration. What we are doing is accessing the power that is within all of us to achieve happiness, we create our reality through our perceptions and by focusing on what we want (as opposed to most people focused on what they don't want) we allow our reticular activating system to work for us rather than against us.

I used the law of attraction to open up the way for my trip to Thailand, finding what you want and then noticing coincidences (our reticular activating system doing it's job) and paying attention to our intuition pave the way to making this thinking process a part of our lives.

Of course I believe in the Law of Attraction. Everything is composed of energy, and like energy will always attract like. This is not some kind of hocus pocus magic. This is nature.

The Law of Attraction works only if you use the Law of Action along with it.
Too many think it works by itself, it doesn't. You have to work it.

It's an age old concept reworked for every generation. Generally I see its origins in the Bible where we are told to ask, believe and receive. I believe it is a solid law.

I haven't seen or read the Secret, I do know a little about Abraham Hicks, which is similar, however I am coming from a Daoist perspective to answer this question...

The Dao, is a single thing (some people may call it God) but it is everything we see, including ourselves. We are all a single entity and we are the energetic manifestation of that. So, the reason you and I look different is because of the difference in energy and how that was affected during its creative expression.

To truly understand this, is to realise there is no self. There is not an individual you making things happen. You are simply an aspect of the very same thing that is on the outside of you. Therefore the you and not-you is one thing, but expressed differently because of how its energy has manifested AS you.

Okay, when we think something enough, we tend to become emotionally connected to it. So, for example, if one of my parents suffered from stomach cancer, every time I feel a pain in my stomach I may worry that I too am getting stomach cancer. The repeated belief creates an energetic emotional feeling, which when experienced enough becomes a stronger "reality" and the likelihood is that I too will suffer from the same illness. Yet, had I not given a damn about it at all, then I probably wouldn't get sick in same way. So the LOA is like attracts like. Well, sort of.

If on the other hand, I think positively that I will not become ill in this way...I will still become ill, because the focus is still centred around not getting the illness i.e. I WILL NOT become ILL. If my thinking was focussed on I will experience beautiful feelings of wellbeing...then my attention, my thinking and ultimately my emotions are centred around wellbeing. So, I attract that energy to me.

In a business sense, the same applies. When we notice we are doing something we don't like, or must do something we do not want, there is a GAP. This gap is the space between what we are doing and where our "heart" leads us to do, to being. When we sense unease, this is a sign that we are creating a gap. Often, when this happens, we have thought enough times that we wish we were doing something different and why do we never have time to do this etc that we become emotionally charged by this experience and in a sense our energy and that of beyond us is connected where our focus is...on doing something we don't want to do. So, we get more of what we do not want to do!

A simple thought does not bring about enough energy to make a difference. It is the felt, experienced, energetic fear, hope, worry, need, anxiety, love emotions that create energy and affect how we engage with life and how it engages with us.

So, be optimistic. Yes, this will happen and be great. And your focus is on the greatness, and your energy is centered on a successful outcome, and not removing yourself from a fearful result...you then attract that to you.

But there is no you. There is only the energy that appears AS you. This is why the LOA appears to work.
