Think Big Grow Rich - Can it Really Happen?

"Think & Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill isn't new and yet it is still one of the most often referred to books when we are talking about becoming rich.
That's because it's been well documented that many successful people have found their blueprint to success within Hill's book.

Hill has packed his book with many quotes, which are excellent food for thought. This is one of the many that rings true when you are looking to be
successful at getting rich.

"Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything."

This is an excellent quote, because it hits at the nerve of what it takes to become rich. If you are hoping and wishing that you'll get rich and
stop your day-to-day struggles and begin to enjoy the life you want, then you will be very disappointed. A year from now or ten years from now your
life is likely to look much like it does today. Why has nothing changed? Because you simply did not have the desire to make it change.

Desire burns in you constantly. It never goes out. It never disappears. There are all kinds of desires and the desire to be rich is certainly the
focus for many. When a person has the desire to grow rich it is on their mind all the time. They are constantly looking for what they can do to
create an environment where they can make money. The person with desire will be analyzing everything they do and see thinking about whether it's a
way to reach their goal of becoming rich.

Interestingly enough when you have the desire the message become planted into your subconscious mind and that becomes your focus. It becomes your
drive and it becomes your reality. Suddenly you find that you have increased your earnings.

But have you created wealth? Or are you still living from month to month. One thing is for certain - you must be your own boss and run your own
business in order to create wealth, because as long as you are working for someone else they control your wealth. So once you have made the big
step to dream big and start your own business adventure you are truly on your way to creating wealth. You now are completely in control of what
your earnings look like. You are the driver behind the road to wealth.

"The starting point of all achievement is desire."

I still believe it's "think and act" rather than just "think". So many people dream, but how many have enough emotinal intelligence to risk something and act upon their dreams?

Yes desire is the starting point.
But to attain ones desires, people need to act.
They need to find out the actions that can bring them closer to their desires.
The simple actions performed will then reinforce believe that they can fulfil their desires.

YEs that is the whole problem with this new agey "the secret" motivational books and courses, which all derived from napoleon hills book, and "the science of getting rich" book from wallace wattles, and other great works written during the boom of the industrial revolution... it focusses on thought alone... while thoughts are only good to motivate you to take action, thoughts by themselves do nothing! it is all about ACTION

these ideas all come from thousands of years old philosophies and yogic knowledge from india, but here in the west changed to such an extend that the info is very much incorrect and misleading, only hyping people into a capitalist mindset.

to know the truth behind this knowledge is almost a life long study... believe me, i know from experience!

Yes, I agree - without Action no one can really move forward.
I always say - Action and Attitude Attracts Abundance!

the how to ..was left out of the title .

anyway many people are able to build wealth while working for other people..just look at most politicians and those who help get them elected.. how about ceo's and executive staffs that are hired to run companies..and sales people who become greate at selling without needing to run their own thing..

anywhere you can create and caprture a good chunk of the value you create ..

what you control..is where you create value . ..

so if you have a burning desire to get rich..cultivate a burning desire to increase the value you produce .

I am learning that this is key.

As a newbie I am reading a smuch as I can. There seem to be a lot of other newbies throwing up links/adverts etc without any thought and wondering why they are not getting conversions from it. Simple reason is that they have added no value.

In terms of online marketing you need to change your primary objective to adding value, develop a dedicated following then start to monetize it later on. Nowadays with the amount of ads/affiliates most web users are getting more cynical about reviews that just happen to have an affiliate link contained in them.

mental and physical health and stability ..are much much bettter when a person has a reason to get out of bed and work at something that makes them productive and is valueable to others ..

from my research and..what i am trying to start and build ..

first thing you do..find a way to add value that you are happy and driven to do..

next mark is to earn between 75k and 125k..usd or equivalent in other currencies..less or more depending on the country you live in.. this is the scientific line for money bringing the most happiness .

from there you save and invest ..or save to invest untill your investments are producing enough income to support your lifestyle .

that is what i have put together ..

but recently i have been focused on creating a lifestyle that doesn't need a high amount of external inputs every month .

there is no scientific line or any other line for being happy, happiness is a CHOICE 100% a choice, a mindset.

i was born extremely poor, got financially wealthy... lost everything and got bum poor again.. and then became finacially rich again.

but NEVER has any of this affected my happiness, i was just as happy poor as i was and am rich, sometimes even more happy, you should be happy and grateful first if you wait for money to become happy, the money will never come either

this information goes really deep and most never even grasp the surphase of it, i happened to grow up with this information and these philosophies and have spend my entire life understanding it, and still growing,

in the end it comes down to understanding life and what and who you really are, problem is for most people on the planet they can never do this because their religions are in the way, that is what they are designed for, to keep you running in circles and never get anywhere

but i hope you do, i wish it for everyone, the world would be a much beter place too if most people understood!

          keep on learning!

there is a reason much of the so called secret stuff was secret or where it was taught openly ignored for other stuff ..

from the time the church decided what would be in the new testament and what would not..virtually all spiritual teaching was removed from western religions..and there was a lot of spiritual stuff in hills original work that got edited out ..

the same with why certain drugs have been banned from use and forced into illegal use ..

much esier to control people or populations ..

as far as the new agey stuff.. a lot of it was stuff actually planted by the cia or people the cia worked with heavily in the 70's and 80's ..

ever wonderr why think and grow rich and the other works a hundred years ago ..that have been pointed to.. really just supported people to be better working parts of the industrial system .

hill himself knew how to become rich but was not good at keeping it or building long term personal wealth..and a lot of the law of attraction stuff leave out the building long term wealth stuff and just leads you belief there is already a big pool of wealth for you that you just have to figure out how to access ,

I never actually thought of Think and Grow Rich as a purely thought based approach book. It was always a positive thought driven action process that we learn to use over time.

This might just be because my ideal image of someone successful is someone happily doing their work, whatever that may be.

I think of this like magnets. Technically if two magnets attract each other they must be passed toward each other to attract each other. That much is obvious. In other words they need to move in order for the magnetic attraction to take place. So why doesn't the same apply to our thoughts and creating reality of them?

If the magnetism is in our mind then we need to be in movement, doing particular actions, to attract the right circumstances and situations to us that our mind is pulling in.

As long as the richness exists in the mind it can exist in reality IF the proper actions are taken to manifest it.

Nothing wrong with having a book to motivate you. In my opinion, ''The Secret'' and ''Think and Grow Rich'' can be really helpful in times of need. The problems occur when people start solely depending on thoughts and forget that taking action is equally important. Posting motivating quotes and posters on social networks doesn't really count.

Taking action is even more important than thinking. Technically we don't do anything without thinking about it first though. But what I am talking about is that there are way more people who are egocentric, off base, or control freaks who are rich than those who enjoy their success.

Look at the people running hedge funds, upper management at most Fortune 500 companies, or the rest of Wall Street and in banking. They just are not into "their inner being". They are into taking massive action in producing results. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and many others are not that well balanced.

Taking action trumps how we think.

A bicycle doesn't care what we feel about it. A laptop doesn't care if we believe in it. The rising sun doesn't give a hoot if we are worried about tomorrow. These things work whether we feel impotent or not.

Now, we all know here, that enjoying wealth and success while being healthy, responsible, and appropriate is a much more enjoyable way to live. But if you are just after money then just take effective action. Your thoughts simply don't matter. Just keep plowing ahead.

If you can't take action then you are afraid. And now you know what to work on. The rest of this forum can be helpful for that.

Feel the fear and do it anyway. It will still work. But if you want to enjoy the ride then learn to overcome fear itself.

Or ignore the fear and do it anyway.

Or resolve the fear and do it.

Being able to resolve our concerns allows us to get started and keep going in a positive way. But the stuff still works even when we don't believe. It is just impossible to do in some cases when we don't believe. In those moments we have to resolve our fear or we can't act. The rest of the time, if you want results now, just plow ahead.

Think Big Grow Rich - Can it Really Happen?

Great title for a book arguably even better than Napoleon Hill's, "Think and Grow Rich", which I understand was a teaser for the real deal "The Law of Success".
