Do colors have any impact on your mood, in your honest opinion? Red and Yellow seem to be my energy colors, while blue or green are relaxing to me. I can change my mood sometimes by simply changing the colors surrounding me. Anyone have similar experiences?

Actually, I do. A blue slate color allows me to focus very easily. I'm drawn to websites that are robin's egg blue. I tend to pay more attention to women in red and black. There are studies about how color affects moods as well as music.

I thought you might find this excerpt from an article on color psychology interesting . . .

Colors often have different meanings in various cultures. And even in Western societies, the meanings of various colors have changed over the years. But today in the U.S., researchers have generally found the following to be accurate.

    Black

Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. It is also stylish and timeless. Black also implies submission. Priests wear black to signify submission to God. Some fashion experts say a woman wearing black implies submission to men. Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer seem aloof or evil. Villains, such as Dracula, often wear black.

    White

Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. However, white shows dirt and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility.

    Red

The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention.

    Pink

The most romantic color, pink, is more tranquilizing. Sports teams sometimes paint the locker rooms used by opposing teams bright pink so their opponents will lose energy.

    Blue

The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms.

    Green

Currently the most popular decorating color, green symbolizes nature. It is the easiest color on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming, refreshing color. People waiting to appear on TV sit in "green rooms" to relax. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients. Brides in the Middle Ages wore green to symbolize fertility. Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth. However, seamstresses often refuse to use green thread on the eve of a fashion show for fear it will bring bad luck.

    Yellow

Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism.

    Purple

The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial.

    Brown

Solid, reliable brown is the color of earth and is abundant in nature. Light brown implies genuineness while dark brown is similar to wood or leather. Brown can also be sad and wistful. Men are more apt to say brown is one of their favorite colors.

    • Thank you so much for this Sheila!

Also, I'd like to point out that salesmen wear
Pink ties because it's been statistically proven
      to improve conversions dramatically!

Yes I think green is inspiring, it's well known for it's calming or soothing if you will. If you notice sometimes the inside of a skip hat or hooded jacked is often green, this is to avoid obstruction and preserve vision when worn so it definitely does something and for a colour to do that, I think is wonderful. A lot of people get inspiration or ideas from looking out a window, often onto a field or grassy area so this also suggests it provides people with something.

This post might be a bit to spiritual, but here goes...
It seems that, if you beleve in the soul and that it lives on after death, every soul has a color. The color of your soul is a way of telling who you are...like auras (aura is your current state - soul color is who you are in your core). Everything has auras and we feel the enegy even though the color is not visible. The visible colors also send out energy and if our soul color or aura maches the color we feel safe and vice versa.

me refer special color which is nail here is why

based on the event of occasion

Your choice of nail color for a conservative job interview is going to be different than the shade you choose for a swanky night out on the town. In a conservative office environment, it's best to stick with more muted or neutral shades to give an air of professionalism, particularly if you use your hands to gesture during an interview. You'll want your fingernails to be clean and polished but not attention getting. If the setting where you'll be interviewing is extremely conservative, you may want to opt for a clear polish and hold off on color all together.

In contrast, if you're heading to an evening party, this is a great time to experiment with the colors you've never dared to try in the light of day. It's time to bring out the golds, silvers, and bronzes that might not be appropriate for day time wear. Keep your jewelry selection in mind when choosing a nail polish color. If you're wearing gold jewelry, it's best to select a gold polish rather than a silver.

Choosing nail color: Choose based on skin color

If you're fair skinned, you'll probably look best in lighter shades of nail polish with pink undertones. Nail polishes that have blue undertones may also work well with fair skin. Fair skinned women tend to look their best in berry red shades of nail polish with a lighter color for day and more dramatic shade for the evening wear.

If your skin has more olive undertones and is a bit darker, you'll probably look fantastic in shades of russet and gold. These shades of nail polish really tend to play up olive skin.

    hope you like it thanks,

      Hello guys!

Im so gladly thanks to the forum admin because of the interesting and informative thread and moreover,Tuscan colors fall into the very warm, cozy, and medium-saturated tones. Warm buttery yellow, deep blue, rusty orange, etc. Most of the colors you find in the fall season translate well into a Tuscan inspired room. I think that walls in a golden, buttery yellow would be lovely, and look great with natural wood, brown and black furniture.
