The Science Behind Beliefs and Success

We all know that beliefs are extremely powerful concepts. Beliefs have started wars, created religions, formed cults and have led to genocides. But how do we get such a controlling idea to work for us?

By taking the time to manipulate our own beliefs we can make drastic changes in our lives. And of course the pendulum swings the other way as well; if we don't truly believe in ourselves then our careers and lifestyles will fall short of their true potential.

Apart from all the real world evidence a study was recently conducted (check it out here) which looked into the power of beliefs and the placebo effect.

The researchers tricked the participants who got a bad night sleep into thinking that they actually had a very good sleep. They then tested these participants on the PASAT (Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test), a test used for determining the rate of information processing and quality of attention. As expected, sleep-deprived subjects who told they had a good sleep performed much better on the PASAT. This is just one of the thousands of studies into the placebo effect and beliefs.

So, as we can see, beliefs have a real, observable effect on ourselves. But how can we apply this to everyday life?

Well you've got to truly believe you'll become successful.

Many other internet marketers out there are no smarter than you or I. Many of them didn't get any 'special training' or have a secret system. They use proven systems to earn an online living and had the determination to keep moving forward with it. And the foundation behind determination is the belief of success.

So the first step to health, success and accomplishment in life is to believe so. You know you are going to becoming successful. Sure, you'll have to put the initial hard yards in but it will work out sooner than later.

So start surrounding yourself with thoughts of success. Put pictures up in front of your desk that remind you of success, change your desktop picture, write out a list of things you want to achieve. Constantly remind yourself that you'll become successful and you'll begin to truly believe it.

Tip: Make your idea of success not just about you but about someone else as well and you'll have more drive to achieve it. That is why one of the goals for my site is to reach $10'000/month, and upon reaching that I'll continually donate 10% of the earnings to help those in need (not just too some shitty charity that takes most of the money though!). This way I want to accomplish that goal not just for myself, but to try and help others.

The second part to this concept is about taking action. You have to continually move forward towards your success otherwise you'll never reach it. But I'll leave that to another post.

Thanks for reading along guys and if you learned something new please give this post a thanks, it would mean a lot

Cheers, Zach.
