Academy Award Winning Actors Do It
Top Comedians Do It
Top Salemen do it.
Even Geniuses like Einstein, Michael Angelo and Shakespeare did it.

They all talk to themselves. Crazy huh? But maybe not. Because science is beginning to take note of this little habit most people equate with the mentally challenged, deranged or crazy. Now more experts are encouraging those who want to achieve more to start talking to themselves. But not just anyway ole way.

Here's a 3 articles that explores this powerful but little known or used success secret of high achievers. Read them ... and then get to talking.

As always I invite your comments, personal experiences or even disagreements.

No offense intended, I'll just discuss this between me, myself, and I.

Thanks for the conversation starter. One of us may come back and report on our discussion after looking at the links.

I live alone and talk to myself all the time. I find it helps me become more efficient as I can plan what I am doing by talking to myself while doing other things such as eating or showering.

      laurencewins,
Congratulations! You get the "Recognition Prize of the Day", I was wondering how many people it would take before someone unabashedly, unshamedly and confidently admitted they "consciously" talk to themselves.

It's usually easy to find some who say ...
      • They'll try it.
      • They do it sometimes.
      Or give timid (milk-toast)..
      • I don't know (maybe), responses.

But my guess is I'll get very few responses like you gave, so you get the Prize of Recognition for being first. Congratulations!

The biggest trick is to force the subconscious to TALK BACK TO YOU. I achieve this with constant meditation in combo with Cosmic Master
I notice that people react differently to me just by walking down the street and folks that I know are also flabbergasted by the results they're getting. One thing is certain that miracles work in odd ways and there is a way to attract them if you're consistent.

I am in constant touch with the subconscious and that leads to continual self-improvement. Within a few months I manifested a boatload of money so yes talking to yourself is a viable method if you know what you're doing. Instead I strive to get the subconscious to talk back to me whilst in hypnosis.

Wow, that video is pretty scary (creepy). Not sure why you say you have to "force" the subconscious mind to talk to you. Do you force it to make your heart beat or breath while you're asleep or recognize the smell of bacon?
It's doing it constantly, just like it talks to you constantly, unless you mean your technique forces "you" to listen. That's most people's biggest hurdle.

I listen to his hypnosis almost every other day. I love this induced trance.

When I want to make money, I socialize. Maybe I need to start talking to myself more often. Sometimes I feel punching myself in the gut for not responding.

True. I talk to myself all the time.

I also though that it was the case for everyone else. But strangely enough not everybody talks to themselves.

      Thanks for the insight!

I absolutely agree with self-talk - it works! I haven't tried 'you' instead of 'I' though as the link to the college study discussed.

I always begin my self talk sentences with 'I am', which I believe to be extremely powerful, because 'I am' assumes that whatever I'm about to say after that is already done and in the present tense.

I'm going to try 'you' for a week and see if I notice a difference.

I think everyone talks to themselves, but most don't do it in a conscious, motivational manner like we're talking about in this thread. Most do it when angry, under extreme stress or when they smash their toe on a table leg or bedpost in the dark. Ouch, Damm, Sh#t, F*ck are some of the choice words used, even if you're alone. And of course when another idiot driver cuts you off.

Actually, a week may not yield much. It takes 21 days to form a new habit and 30 days to solidify it. I'd see if you notice any difference after then to get a more accurate reading.

I talk to myself becacuse I live alone so I need to hold a conversation with someone.

Used to do it outloud until I caught myself doing it in a store one day.

But it is good because I can present an both points of view and argue with myself when I need too.

          Sanity is grossly over hyyped.

Really? That means I've been crazy for a long time. Well, I know that.
But what means crazy? Something that is not normal, not average. But what means average in term of success ? Well, I guess we all know the answer of that.

That's quite simple. The smarter your brain, the easier for it to find solutions with any given circumstances. Smart people know how to answer questions properly, to get solutions just as swift. But is not only that.

Talking to yourself can have a deep emotional impact, either if it's negative or positive. Think about it. If you look in the mirror and say it out loud : " You are winner, you can do this ! Come one ! GO GO " you get instantly pumped up. No wonder athletes use this a lot .
On the other side , those who do trash talk never find good. You've seen it. That kind of pessimist people that always have the misfortune they talk about. That's the power of subconscious.

Talking have a huge impact , either if you are talking to yourself or others. The deal is, talking to yourself breaks free of any social rules. You can be as straight-forward and honest with yourself that you can be. And that's pretty awesome right? Truly powerful.

On a ending note, I consider brain to be similar to a muscle. It needs to be trained often to not lose it's strength. And talking to yourself is the connection of the mind, body and emotions to that point where you can access your full potential and get what you want.

I talk to myself everyday, as part of my auto suggestion routine. I've been doing it for years.

I tell myself I'm improving, I tell myself I am energised and I tell myself that the next task is an easy one.

Talking to yourself can be very good, but...It has to be positive, if you want positive results that is :-)

I find I talk to myself when I'm planning things in my head. Whenever someone catches me talking to myself, I simply respond - "I'm just thinking out loud." I find it helps me process information and find solutions. No harm it that.

Usually I talk with myself when listening to Cosmic Master's programs but on a very deep and profound way that I get audible answers as well as images alike from the future. I turn into "oracle mode" and betoken future events before they take place; all happens when I am sleepy, turn very sleepy and can follow directions while being absentminded.

Affirmative. Been doing it for years. Because of the feedback loop of loud voice to the brain. In other words, talking aloud, or thinking aloud is much MUCH more effective then silent.

Good feedback. Although I'm a bit surprised how many people do it without needing to be convinced.

I was kinda expecting to at least hear from the usual 'cast of characters' who think I'm crazy, weird or wasting people's time with this strange subject. I must be losing my touch, no one has called me crazy in at least two weeks. Either that or maybe we're all a bit crazy in this thread.
