Fired from work, I decided to focus on internet marketing

Hi all,

Here I want to share about what I had just experienced.
It has been 7 years I worked in a bank, I get a decent salary to meet my needs. I feel lucky and comfortable with my work.

But a few months ago I clashed with my boss, there was a bit of a problem between me and my boss. And finally on July 31, I was fired from the office where I've worked for 7 years.

I really feel sad and hopeless. Finding and getting a new job is not easy in the city where I live. I do not know what should I do for my future.

Yesterday I met with my uncle, he was a successful shop owner. And he said: "Be positive thinking, this is your chance for success by doing something on your passion, you have to believe that you can succeed in your own way."

Yeah, my passion. I've been active for over a year as an internet marketer, even though the income is less than the salary of the office, but I am really interested in the world of internet marketing. And I thought, this is my chance to be successful in the internet marketing, I would have more time and energy to focus on what was to become my passion, being an Internet marketer.

I am very grateful to my uncle because he had returns my spirits and motivates me.
Now I know what should I do for my future, I believe I can, with full of hope.

The competition on IM is pretty stiff, I'd suggest to keep looking for a job and do IM part time. Your uncle's words came in swiftly as an encouragement though. Draw power from your uncle and "use the force" within.

If you want to succeed you have to work as hard or harder at internet marketing as you did on your job. Especially at the beginning. The failure rate is high otherwise.

Most people fall for the ...
      • It's a quick way to make easy money ... Baloney!
      • Get rich while you lay on the beach ... B.S!
      -and-
      • Anybody can do it ... Horse Crap!

If you can ignore those 3 lies you'll be miles ahead of most people who get into internet marketing. If you can dodge the lies, then all you have to do is ...
      • Find and focus on a specific niche market
      • Know your prospects in your niche market like the back of your hand.
      and
      • Supply your prospects with a product or service others are ignoring, under-serving or overcharging for.
And most important: Give your customers fanatical customers service so much they'd be a fool to consider going anywhere else.

The catch? You can't achieve all the above if you waste time looking for short-cuts or quick overnight riches like most people. Sorry. Hope you listen to me. If you can't you better start looking for a job ... Fast!

IM as part time is the better option.
So keep looking for another job. To maintain the lifestyle you lived as a banker in IM for a start will reduce you to the level of a beggar.

I agree with andrew fox, look for a job first then do IM po\art-time, you need capital also if you want to be successful online and I think your are lucky you have that kind of uncle who encourage you, always talk to your uncle to be motivated

You also need to survive, unless you have a savings that you can work to several months, if you are not earning yet online

Your uncle faces a downhill battle with over-optimism and I don't see him recovering anytime soon from this inertia. Also your boss needs a poke in the eye for power-tripping.

Good luck on your journey man.

It's going to be hard. You will have to work extremely hard. But it's worth it.

    Cheers,

After reading your post, I remeber when I quit my job at an accounting firm. I asked my boss what he thought about me owning my own business. I was not prepared for his answer. He went on to tell me that someone is feeding me a cock and bull story and to forget about it cause you wouldn't make it. Imagine that! He was a business owner. I went back to my desk, wrote him a note and walked out of the joh.
I vowed that I would not work another job in my life. And I haven't. Since 1986. I was determined to use the Free Enterpriise System to my advantage. I started so many businesses I can't even count them all. Any type of commission type business or my own business.
    The learning was invaluable.
My present business while I am leaning IM is teaching hula. Especially in Japan. I made over 7 figures a year, but it required me being present as the sole teacher. No teaching, no income. By Emyth standards, I had given myself a job, the one thing I vowed not to have.
So I started looking for another profession that would help me free up my time and make more money without physically having to work. So just like you, I dove in to learn all I can about IM and first, replace my income and then double that, and so on.
As for your Uncle. You are so lucky who had someone to encourage you. There are more people that would tell you real fast how it won't work than it will. Your Uncle is a godsend.
    Expect Success.

I had personality clashes in my old job. Then I discovered personality type research (get your type at 16personalities.com). Now at job interviews I check for any potential personality clashes with the hiring team before I join a company. This stuff is complex though, and some people think it's complete rubbish.

As for IM, you need to be somebody with offline experience of a niche (like the guy I had lunch with today) or a programmer (like me) or somebody with enough leadership to be able to get other people to do stuff for them.

..you learned 1st hand what happens when you
put your financial future in another mans hands.

Now that you have it back, this is your chance
to take the same drive and work ethic you had
working for others into building your own empire
and financial future for your family.

This way you can leave something worth leaving
behind for your children if any, and what better
way to do that than your own online business?

Generally speaking, you're never going to make
what you WANT to make starting out, but far less.

The test will be if you can endure during the hard
times when you're making less so that you can
eventually earn much more than you originally
    intended to make.

Now, is really the time to strike out on your own. It is hard out there and finding a job is very difficult, even the lame duck jobs. At the same time, it is never a good time to strike out on your own because no one ever leaves their job a millionaire. They are usually in your position.

If you do have money saved up or capital to put towards your business, that would be great. Also, take the time and the patience to learn as much as you can about Internet marketing and how to be a stand out in this field. It is very competitive.

I agree with The Niche Man in that you need to choose a niche that would benefit from IM.

I gave up looking for work to start a business that incorporates my love for writing. Since you already have made money from IM and seem to love it, stick with that. Just don't fall into the trap of rushing things. You are already further ahead than when you first got started.

I wish you the best of luck!

Yes, I too agree with what has been said here, but I also want to ad this:

If you have some skill as an internet marketer, you can market your services to other marketers. If you can get the word out effectively, you could make as much as, or more than your previous job (although I don't know what your salary was, so I can't say for sure).

Also, many people make money by selling a service, but instead of providing that service themselves, they hire an outsourcer on Fiverr or somewhere else for more money, and keep the difference. It's called arbitrage and it works. For instance, find someone on Fiverr who needs a logo designed and is willing to pay $100.00, find someone who will design the logo for $5.00, you keep the difference.

Again, this works, but it's time consuming matching these people up, and is hard work. There is software though that will match the people up.

These methods would potentially get you to the money faster, but still, a savings would help a lot.

Also keep in mind, to start, you WILL have to work hard at whatever you choose, but IMO, it is DEFINITELY worth it in the end.

I've worked for myself for over 20 years, and even though I've had my ups and downs financially, some years, doing fantasic, other years not so much, I could not go back to working for someone else. The freedom you feel is just fantasic!

A wonderful response Tonester. I made a decision to never do the 9-5 jobs because your life is in someone elses hands. It starts with a choice, will I be a worker bee or a Queen? I can get other people to be my virtual assistant and affiliate, create my products, and basically do most of the physical work while I keep improving on my mindset and IM knowledge and connect with people in my industry, send out tasks, and formulate plans. I'm the Boss. I remember to be me, and bring my original certain way of doing things to others. They'll remember me for that

Stay Strong! Stay Focused! Stay Motivated! I agree with others you should find another job to support your family until you start making a constant amout of money from internet marketing.

IM is not hard but it takes hard work and patience. There is no get quick rich plan unless you have a ton of money to invest and loss. Stick with it and steady build your capital. Pick a niche your passionate about to start with. Even if the niche doesn't make you a ton of cash you will find joy in working and it won't feel like work, which will allow you to put in tons and tons of hours.

Once you have build that foundation and steady income then you can invest in other niches. It's all about being constant and not hoping from one hot thing to the next.

Be positive and listen to positive affirmation 3 times a day.

Ignore the BS and Nay sayers!

Stick with it and record your postive results and learn from your mistakes don't let your mistakes get you down. Mistakes means your trying and learning.

Stay postive I said it twice because its extremly important!

Never stop learning, growing, and improving!

Good luck! Best of wishes and Blessing to you and your family!
