ok... I will make this short and sweet...

A lot of people are asking me.. how do you get noticed...

how to do you become an authority in your niche?

I see a lot of people asking.. how do i make money with my 10,000 traffic...

or how do I monetize my blog with x traffic....

STOP IT...

You should change your mindset instead...

I started out 7 years ago in this forum... with the same mindset as yours...

Made money on and off with different niches and money is good but it will never
last if you don't do the right thing...

So how do you do the right thing?

Being an authority or someone that stands out doesnt mean that you are have to be
the best in what you are doing..

heck... even the president makes mistakes... even the billionnaires makes mistakes as
well..

Becoming an authority means... that you are trustworthy and honest... you admit your
mistakes to your community and you correct them...

MOST OF ALL...

YOU GIVE VALUE!

Instead of asking... people in this forum how to make money blah blah blah..

this is what you need to ask...

"How do I serve my blog with x amount of traffic?"
"How do I give them the best product or service"
"How do I educate this market?"
"Are there any people that can help me give more value to my audience?"

Imagine your fans.. your audience raving about your content... your products..
raving about you...

Do you think they will help you succeed?...

If your answer is "YES"...

Then I think you get my point..

Change your mindset and let's push humanity forward...

Cheers!

    Carlo,

You're right on point, I completely agree. Once you have a following that likes, knows and trusts you, selling doesn't really seem that hard anymore.

It's all about bringing the value and NOT hyping every single affiliate product launch to try and make a dime. "Hard selling" to your list 24/7 is the fastest way to lose their interest.

Remember it's really about them, it's not about you. Give them what they want, make them like you, show up in their inbox all the time with information they are looking for, and when it comes time to offer a QUALITY product that you truly believe in (and truly believe it will help them), the sales will come much easier.

That's my 2 cents. Great post!

Exactly my friend! Glad that you have the same sentiment.

    carlo_sim,

Let's be clear about what an authority really is. To me, he/she is one that is an expert in a particular field. He is an accepted source of sound advice and information in a subject or topic. An authority is a specialist in a body of knowledge, one who has learned and practiced unique skills through study, training, and practical experience. Often, the authority has achieved a high ranking, a degree, or a certification that is given to those who have been tested and proven their merit.

Authority is independent of the personal traits of being honest, trustworthy, and providing value.

I certainly agree with the importance of those personal traits in a business owner, but they are different than authority.

Some people with authority are not honest or trustworthy, and they don't necessarily provide value in what they do.

It's an important distinction in IM. You shouldn't expect or assume that someone with authority is automatically honest or that he will provide value just because he is an authority.

      Hi Steve,

I certainly agree with you that someone that's an authority with a subject must
have expert knowledge with their field...

Well.... I always think that being an expert on something is always subjective...
depending on the market that you are speaking to...

Someone that's good with digital marketing will not be perceived as an authority
      in the Digital Marketing Community

but throw that "good" digital marketer in a group of offline entrepreneurs and he
will be perceived as an authority "if" he helps them out...

I also agree with you that most authorities are not honest and not trustworthy...

Yes.. we shouldn't expect our authorities to provide value... it's beyond our control...

      but my point is...

I am speaking to someone that wants to be an authority at something...

What if they outdo themselves and strive to provide value, be honest and trustworthy...

Wouldn't it be better to the community...

Will they not give them some "extra" love?

      Or.... get "extra" notice?

I had problems standing out until I tried something very profound that changed my whole life. It's the power of the subconscious that once triggered, you can make and be that change.

    Back to the drawing board.

I absolutely love this. Reminds me of how far I've came since I started my venture into the internet entrepreneurial world. Helping is everything. Seriously..

Your true passion and purpose will ultimately be something that you would do for free if money didn't exist.

Or else, you might stick around doing something for the money but in the end, you'll fade if it's not truly a passion to you and with a purpose to give value to the world.

Find out how your passions can help humanity as a whole and you will find the answers much easier that way, all because you will be driven.. driven to serve the world.

    Excellent, excellent post Carlo!
