7 Questions You Should Answer 'Before' You Market a Product or Service Online - Or Else!

One of the hardest things for many marketers to do is ask themselves the tough questions. In fact, the first "marsh-mellow" questions most ask is ...
  • How Much Money Can I Make?
  • How Much Effort Will It Take?
  • How Much Time Before I Make Money?
Right?

After those soft-ball questions are answered they follow whoever can convince them their product, program or "secret" is the best.

In far too many cases people fail to ask the 7 questions below. The result? They hit a brick wall, sink like a rock or get blind-sided in their online marketing efforts.

Newsflash: Most experts, guru's or even money-bag millionaires who share their "secrets" can only take you so far. No matter what they promise. Shocker right? The rest is up to you.

That's what makes the following questions so important to answer before you start marketing. Not after or on-the-fly like most people who fail.

If you can't answer the following questions you're most likely going to waste time, money and effort. You'll either answer them now, later or you'll quit. Better to do it now. This is probably the most important research you'll do, it's the foundation of your marketing plan.

1. What Product or Service Will I Provide?

2. What Specific Problem(s) Does It Solve?

3. What Specific Target Market (type of people) is most likely to buy it? (Please don't say everyone).

4. Where Do Those People Hang Out Online?

5. What Affordable Ways Can I Reach Them?

6. Who Are My Top Competitors?

7. In What Ways Will I Separate Myself From The Competition. (Hint: What will I Do That They Can't or Wont' Do - Or Do as Well).

Note: It's best to have it all written down (it's something magical about seeing it on paper), rather than carry it around in your head.

I know, you're in a rush. After-all there's millions to be made to just wast time answering the above questions. You'll answer them later. Right? Many will even advise you to just take action and forget about those questions right now, things will work out somehow (eye-roll).

Unfortunately those are the 7 questions many marketers "sabotage themselves with" by not answering before they start marketing.

You'll notice 90% of the problems asked in the Internet Marketing section can be traced back to one of those 7 questions. The person failed to answer them before they started. Now they have to go back and try to trouble-shoot the problem. Thus wasting time, money and efforts. Many probably quit in frustration calling it all (online marketing) a scam. That's why it's much easier to do it right the first time.

As always I invite your comments, experiences and even disagreements, I learn from them all.

    Good stuff,Roy.

A solid blueprint for newbies to really follow before they even attempt this game.

I will have to say if I was to get too picky I may say reverse #1 and #2.

Identify the problem and then address it with possible solutions... i.e.product or service

Doing a survey of the market you are going to target, can help you get the right perspective. You also need to update your knowledge about the latest marketing strategies.
