This was such an influential book. I know people who have simply quit their jobs (I wouldn't suggest that strong of action immediately) after reading this book. That's influence!

for most people it would help to add ..the most influential ..after the bible or the main text of your religion ..

but most people never even really read that one ..

now ..like cg ..4 hour work week greatly effected my outlok on work..and it really is not a book on working 4 hours a week ..that was just a title that got a much higher response ..

after that was the book mindsets..by some phtcologist ..that basically explained there are two types of mindsets one a static mindset where you believe your talents and abilities are fixxed ..
and a more dynamic growth oriented mindset where that believe you can develop skills and abilities ..even without talent or beyond the talent you have .

then of course there is the book influence by caldini

    Thanks guys!

Anyone else with any books they recommend would be very helpful!

Wallace D. Wattles - The Science Of Getting Rich. This has been the first one in a long time to really explain the DEEP true ways to attract wealth through your own power. Helped me realize I am 100% in control of my wealth. And that getting rich can be fun and easy

Business Sutra - It uses stories, symbols and rituals drawn from Hindu, Jain and Buddhist mythology to understand a wide variety of business situations that range from running a successful tea stall to nurturing talent in a large multinational corporation. At the heart of the book is a compelling premise - if we believe that wealth needs to be chased, the workplace becomes a rana-bhoomi-a battleground of investors, regulators, employers, employees, vendors, competitors and customers; if we believe that wealth needs to be attracted, the workplace becomes a ranga-bhoomi-a playground where everyone is happy.

        - Increase your earning power.

The book that changed my life is "The Laws of Success in 16 Lessons" by Napoleon Hill.

This is the lesser known book by Napoleon Hill and actually Think and Grow Rich is just the watered down version of this book, so if you liked that one then you'll love this book.

One of the books that I would like to share here is from the author Friedrich Nietzsche...

    Thus Spoke Zarathustra

The book chronicles the fictitious travels and speeches of Zarathustra. Zarathustra's namesake was the founder of Zoroastrianism, usually known in English as Zoroaster Nietzsche is clearly portraying a "new" or "different" Zarathustra, one who turns traditional morality on its head. He goes on to characterize "what the name of Zarathustra means in my mouth, the mouth of the first immoralist:"

Release your Brakes by James Newman

It contains no non-sense information on how the brain functions and how you can use this to your advantage. No spiritual, no philosophical approach. No good or bad, no motivational approach.

It simply states what happens in your mind, how this leads to behavior and how to tweak your three systems (mental, physical and environmental) so you can influence your behavior. It is similar to NLP but NLP takes more of a therapeutic approach. This is more of a "user manual for the brain".

It is not the kind of book to be read. It is the kind of book to be studied. To take notes, to write entire essays about a single idea in order to internalize and to ask yourself in every single chapter "how can I apply this to my life".

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
    Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

Having said that what I have found is that whatever challenge you have in life, you will find a book that addresses that challenge. I found that its better to read those books that help you grow out of your challenges. Here's a couple of examples.
    1. I was afraid of losing loved ones. I read 'Feel and Fear and do it anyway' by Susan Jeffers and my fear diminished about a lot of things.
    2. I am a perfectionist and hated losing. I read 'Failing Forward' by John Maxwell and now I never worry about business failures.

Trust me, customizing your reading based on YOUR needs is way more effective than reading what others found wonderful.

'Now Discover Your Strengths' by Marcus Buckingham and Donal O Clifton. It is an excellent book which shows why our society is wrongly focused too much on weaknesses rather than strengths.

People think that overcoming their weaknesses is important to their success whereas the truth is that almost all successful people focused the most on their strengths and built their careers upon their strengths. Though they had lot of weaknesses, like any human being, they chose to focus on what they were good at and that proved to be the main difference why they were hugely successful while many others were not.

The book dismisses the myth that our weaknesses provide the greatest opportunity for our growth. Rather it is the opposite - working on our strengths is the key to massive growth and achievement.

The authors, who are part of the Gallup organization, interviewed over 2 million successful professionals, managers and businessmen. The book gives lots of examples of successful people who focused on their strengths, including personalities like Tiger Woods, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and more.
