Habits of Highly Motivated People

I am certain that its no just enough to talk about motivation and motivated people. I am sure we all go through different challeges but it evident that some are motivated to do what they need to do to achieve their objectives while others are not. I want believe that there are certain positive habits that the highly motivated have developed that keeps them motivated through it all. One habit that readily come to mind is the habit of taking it a day at a time. Please, could you share your thoughts on this. Thanks

I read motivational quotes at night before I go to bed and, if I need a lift in the morning, again over breakfast. It sounds trite, but sometimes it's just what I need to get started.

No matter what walk of life they come from, people who are motivated to achieve success share certain traits.

They set their goals high and are always reaching for the top.

They have the confidence to step out of their comfort zone to try new ideas or strategies.

They take part in their organizations, in their families and in their communities.

They're willing to jump in and take things on -- and have the mental energy necessary to get it done.

They're not afraid to admit they don't know it all. They're eager to keep growing.

They know their stuff and are always in the process of learning more.

They act as if it were impossible for them to fail, as if their success is a done deal.

They never give up until they succeed, but they're willing to try a variety of options to get what they want rather than to keep hitting their head against the same brick wall.

They work hard to take care of themselves physically, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and socially.

They rise above the small stuff to achieve greatness in their lives.

Interesting title. Ok - here are my 7 habits of highly Motivated People (with deference to Stephen Covey).

    1. You can easily stay motivated when you are doing what you love, so do what you love to do.

    2. Know what you want - the number #1 success secret. If you don't know, you won't get it, but if you do know, you have a great chance of making your dreams come true.

    3. Get your priorities straight. Work when you work; play when you play and give these things your full attention when you are engaged in them.

    4. Try to think of others in everything you do; not at the expense of your own interests, but remember that other people may not see things the way you do.

    5. Listen to other people with respect. Simpy become a great listener and you will also become a great friend, father, mother, brother, sister etc.

    6. Find time to be still and silent. That's when you are most in touch with the limitless energy and creativity of the universe.

    7. Look after yourself. Exercise. Stay fit and healthy. Don't eat or drink too much. Read to feed your mind with good-stuff. And always be thankful for the blessings that surround you every day of your life.

I think aside from having clear goals, a lot of success comes down to just setting up the right habits and building up momentum. When you adopt successful habits into your day to day routine, and if you stick with them, it eventually becomes easier to keep doing them than to stop (especially once you start seeing results).

There are many things that could keep an individual motivated, the most important thing that keeps you motivated is the result. Humans always seek result and this keeps everyone motivated. I got some good points to stay motivated from the book "seven habits of effective people" by Stephen Covey. Thanks must read.

I think taking it one day at a time is very important.

awesome book. get a copy if you can. but the 7 habits covey's explains in the book are . 1. be proactive 2. begin with the end in mind 3. put first things first. 4. think win/win 5. seek first to understand than to be understood, 6. synergize 7. sharpen the saw.

if you want to know what the hell that all means you'll need to read the book. lol.
you can check out mentaltoughness101.com/habits-of-effective-people/ for a quick overview of each habit

the best thing to do is pick up the book. its worth the few bucks it will cost.

I've met some super rich people and most don't even consider money the same as we do. They just see it as a number which is what it normally becomes after you make all of your dreams come true. One of the most important things is to break free of fear and not doubt yourself no matter what it is that you are doing.

Set up daily goals. Do things one at a time. Stop trying to make more money. Start trying to improve people's lives. Stop trying to get rich. Start trying to enrich your life with relationships. Stop looking for quality "things". Start looking for quality of life. Do these things and you'll have an amazing life!

Remember that you must crawl before walking and walk before running! Take baby steps forward and give yourself credit when it is deserved.. Even if progress is not "ideal," just keep the momentum moving forward.. And try not to be too hard on yourselves.. In my experience, this attitude is very helpful!!

    Successful people:
-Get out of your comfort zone. If you are stuck in a weak company, you have to pretend to be weak and lazy or you will intimidate your boss/colleagues. Pretty soon, you might not need to pretend after all.
-Ignore what "comfortable" people are telling you ("you must stick to this job for 2 years or else...."). How can someone that isn't outstanding tell you how to be outstanding?
Would you trust advice on how to paint professionally by someone whom cannot even draw stick people. Exactly.

most have heard, we do more for fear of loss, than thought of gain. motivation seems to be external and thus short lived and temporary, requiring additional repriming. when we find ourselves inspired from within? that goes and goes without provocation. ultimate success? finding your purpose in life, doing what you love, and getting paid well for it. • To be honest, I thought this book was going to go into Stephen Covey's well-known book "The habits of highly effective people". I can tell you for certain, that this is a brilliant book, and I myself read his son's version for teenagers (we're talking a few years ago now), which was also fantastic. You should definitely check this book out.

Anyway, onto what the post is really about. I believe what really motivates people is the things they love doing. You're not likely to do something unless you're truly enjoying yourself. I've experienced this so many times in so many different ways, it's crazy.

However, there are those times when you have to do something you really don't want to do. When I experience this, all I do are the following two things:
    • Tell myself that whatever I'm about to do, I'm actually going to enjoy. If you can trick yourself into believing this, you're more likely to get started on it, and one of two things will happen. Either you will just carry on getting it done (now that you've started, why stop?) or you may actually find that you DO enjoy doing it!
    • Nut up and shut up. Basically just get on with it. The longer I stand around whining and moaning about having to do something, the more time I'm wasting where I could be doing that thing I'm standing there whining about!

At the end of the day, it's really down to you. Are you prepared to work for what you want? Or are you one of the 98% of people who just sit there and expect all the good things in life to come to you?

    You decide.

I've been wondering about, and reading about motivation for years. I even wrote about the various levels of motivation in a book that I wrote for writers. I won't mention it here, because that is not what were here for.

But, it is just so fasinating to see what motivates a person for success or failure. There are quite a few motivational levels that we all deal with, but it all falls back to one of the points that Will mentioned above.

You have know what you want. I think that is the numero uno trait that most successful people share.

And it isn't simply that they know what they want. They can Imagine it. They Can Touch it. They Thirst after want they want. With Most Successful people, their desire is so strong it becomes an Obsession with them.

It is their Why. Their reason for living. All the other traits help to support what they want. And the achievement of that passion automatically motivates them everday.

The habit is consistency. You have to make a plan and then follow it, every day. If you have a plan, on paper you can on your bad day do what you need to do...but on your good days you will also do what you need to do...and even a little more... So, do the same things over and over again. Do not slack...overachieve on your own goals. This is how we in our Team are successful...

I think the philosophy of taking it one day at a time is a good way to live. Another way of saying it is go as far as you can see, and when you get there, you'll see further. You can't see the whole path in front of you, that's why you have to take one step at a time.
Also, I read somewhere that successful people don't do one thing differently. They do EVERYTHING differently. Success is not just one big thing; it's a whole bunch of little things. And it's the cumulative effect of changing all those little things that makes the big difference.

Staying Motivated will be different to each individual, based on Personal, Business and Mental state.

For me I tend to have real BIG goals to keep me motivated and find daily/weekly tasks I need to do in order to reach those Bigger goals.

It can become easier if you share those goals, but not to anyone as some people cannot relate to where you are, or cannot see your visions, say may pass negative thoughts onto them, which can kill your momentum.

Sharing them also holds you accountable, when you have not reached them!

The best way I keep Motivated on a consistent basis is I vision where I see myself in 2-3years or at my peak, that energy that you can create at that particular moment if you truly believe in yourself can be crazy, so hold onto that, your Motivation will soon get it's second wind!

    Hope that Helps

Motivation comes from determination. To be able to understand life, you should feel the sunfrom both sides

Ignore those who try to destroy you.Dont let other people to get the best of you. Stay away from toxic people

Motivation is when your dreams are put into work clothes. Motivation is one of the strongest characteristics you can have

Discipline or self control jives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in self improvement.

Motivation without vision is like a boat on a dry land. Your mind can bring you whatever you desire in life
