Creating a Mindshare Commune

While I am NOT a big fan of cult-like communities... A weird 'idea' struck me today, and though I am nither financially capable, nor currently successful enough of being a 'Marketing Messiah'...

Imagine if 'small groups' of people shared in the financial costs of say a nice 4-5 bedroom house, and together created a 'think tank' geared towards building online businesses.

Sure, no idea is perfect... And I have had few 'room mates' in and throughout my 42 years of existence...

But, what if a group of people 'rented' a home, contributed to the up keep, and typical responsibilities, and in essence could save money by sharing the expense of their internet, electric, water, food, utilities, transportation costs, etc... All while building an online business with 4-5 key contributors sharing in costs, building process and tools (i.e. dedicated servers, CRM Team platforms, advertising, etc...)

Clearly, it would be challenging, and I know there are people in Silicone Valley already building these 'marketing mindshare communes' - but aside the obvious finding like-minded people, and sharing both the physical & virtual assets and responsibilities...

How many of you 'wish' or maybe even 'wonder' what it would be like to 'wake up' surrounded by people who understand the time, energy, and cost 'building and scaling virtue real estate' consists of financially, mentally, and physically.

I don't know... Maybe it's just me, but I am sick of being around people who contribute nothing or the following...

A.) Just don't get it (IMing)

B.) Complain about costs (my soending for my business)

C.) The feeling of being; "disconnected" while forging the path to 'virtual success'

D.) Having no one to critique or provide ANY useful input or contributions to the success (*until they see the money, and by then they're years, and years behind your mindset)

E.) The 'proper' tools and platforms like Ontraport or Infusionsoft CRM's, owning a dedicated server, and several other 'TOOLS' would be affordable if our living & business costs were shared and divided into affordable 'bite size' chunks, no?

I was looking at my living costs recently including rent, utilities, vehicle expenses, etc... And coupled with my desired tools, softwares, and internet business related costs, and desired tools like (a full blown CRM like Infusionsoft or Ontraport) seems to distort my ability to remained focused on my online business growth!

Add to this, the people in my immediate surroundings cost me time, money, and tons of distraction... as they sit around watching tv, playing games on their phone, chatting up nonsense or wasting time on Facebook... and honestly, it makes me sick!

Not only does it make me sick, it is challenging me to not 'divorce myself' from their company, run far away, and seek people (even roommates) who (in the least) are interested in doing something more productive with their lives!

Sorry, just venting and questioning the 'Almighty What If's?' - cause of late, I am not stimulated by the company I am keeping, yet feel obligated to 'somehow' tolerate it until I either succeed (whereby, I foresee these people jumping aboard - after the tracks, train, stations are all built, and ticket sales are up) or I short-circuit, meltdown, flip shit and leave!

Man, I'll tell you this; as a hisband, parent, and friend to those in my surroundings... Being 'cursed' by this entrepreneurial mind, sure does leave one to question; is putting up with lazy people with no vision healthy for us?

Who knows; maybe I'll start a "Marketing Mindshare Timeshare" - it would probably make for better tv, than half the so-called 'reality tv shows' eating people braincells daily.

I'm off to pray for forgiveness... As my 'fuel guage' is running low giving people 'free rides' - while my 'radiator' (my mind) is overheating and about to blow a hose... As I cannot relate to those in my immediate surroundings...

Ok... time to meditate on it, end of rant, lol

Peace,

If you want to find the right people you must hire them out, that's the way love goes. Many businesses started with a one-man show because they learned things from the inside out, rolled their sleeves and greased some elbows. Then put the right people on hire.

Yeah, I got the roll up the sleeves, and greasy elbows' - as I'm not affraid of WORK, it just seems whether it's at home, here on the main forum, or even doing offline gigs, the harder I try to escape the trappings of lazy people... more keep magically appearing!

I do plan to start 'outsourcing'and 'hiring out' certain tasks, and I'm confident that will relieve the 'bouts of burnout' I get... like yesterday when I posted this rant.

Also, my wife is 'supportive' and wants me to succeed (yesterday, already) and to date has no real interest in learning or helping build the business model, she supports the 'idea' that there is, can, and will be 'financial rewards'... But, is definitely more entertained by the television, than constructing a business... Complete 'polar opposites' - yet, we've survived 3 children, and 23 years together, go figure!

Normally, I stay focused regardless of the 'negativity' that surrounds me, I just had a tough time dealing with it yesterday, so I vented it here for feedback.

I understand what you mean. I feel like this from time to time. No one seems to understand or follow my thinking within my circle. The closest thing I have is my fiancée. She understands and helps out in some areas but is not completely on my level. I am interested in meeting more people who are like minded.
