The Lie about age and success.

I think we've all been told this lie at some point in our lives.

At some point, somebody might have told you that if you were going to do something, you would have already done it.

Or you're too old to accomplish this or that.

These people are full of it. They have no idea what they are talking about.

I'm not really into sports and I didn't actually watch the game, but today Peyton Manning lead the Broncos to a victory at the Superbowl at age 39. In professional sports, he's far beyond is prime, but that didn't stop him.

In the world of money and business, if you manage to become a millionaire before the age of 39, you're not beyond your prime, you're in your prime.

Less then 1% of self made millionaires got there before the age of 40.

Don't beat yourself up because you didn't think up some crazy idea at a young age and become the next Mark Zuckerberg.

He is not the norm, he is the exception.

And nobody needs the kind of money he has.

I think this post could go in the other direction as well- while being too old shouldn't rule you out from achieving your goals, being too young wouldn't be a good excuse either...right?

At some point, age plays a big role in our life which some of us may fail to realize. Being young is to be more creative, be open-minded and have fearless insights, thus being in your prime is to be more vivid and wise. Either way, commitment and dedication are the keys to get you to your goal.

Wisdom comes with age and experience, not youth. It's true that physically, youth wins, but mentally, the average person learns through experience that comes with age and lessons learned -especially when it comes to business.

I was pretty successful in my early 20s.

Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to keep any of it. In a lot of ways, I think my early success actually hurt me because it took a long, long, long time before I was able to get back up on that horse.

Age offers something that no information product could ever possibly:

The experience and wisdom to know thyself.

We can talk about this kind of stuff here because were in the mindset portion of the warrior forum, but I am finding more and more a direct correlation between my levels of success and my growth in self-knowledge and knowing myself.

The more I come to know myself, the more successful I become.

When I was young, I did things because it would make me money even if I absolutely hated it.

I had to learn the hard lesson that -- as an entrepreneur -- doing things that you hate is one of the worst ideas ever. People avoid the things they hate, and since entrepreneurs only make money when they create things, having to battle the constant avoidance to make things because you hate the thing you're doing is like shooting yourself in the foot.

I think with the example listed above, with Peyton Manning, he has the wisdom and experience to not make plays that he doesn't want to make. And so, the vast majority of his plays were successful. Because he knew his own limitations.

I think that with age comes the ability to recognize your own limitations, your true limitations, and to know the difference.

For me, age has been a critical factor in my success.

Makes sense, definitely. In a world full of competition, almost everyone doesn't want to be left behind. Who wants to? But I believe it is not a race against time. What is important is how to get there and to quit not to reach what you have been dreaming of.

There is the age of wisdom and experience, beyond which any wealth made is useless.
Have ever thoght of how many people actually preserve, maintain and grow their wealth after that age?

I have few questions: if anyone has a goal why he's focused on his age?
    Is it a good direction?

Whether he needs it or not is irrelevant. It's his money and he earned it.

i'm not even a Zuckerburg fan, but when people start talking about how much money *they think* a person needs, it sounds like Socialism and I'm not cool with that. No one gets to decide how much wealth is appropriate for another person --not in the USA, anyway.

    Age is only a number

You're really only as old as you feel you are IMO
