Why Do Some People Like To Crap on Others' Success?

Post your theories below. Here are some of mine:

1. They are upset they aren't doing well online so they lash out at others.
2. It makes them feel better about themselves to trash others.
3. Poverty mindset
4. As Dr. Doug Lisle said to me, "20% of people are disagreeable in general."

    Here's my theory:

    1. They got nothing meaningful to do with their lives.

    2. They aren't really happy.

    3. Jealousy and envy is a big factor.

    4. Their lives are full of hate.

    5. They are happy bringing people down.

    6. Their live are not interesting.

If you are talking about crapping on people's succes on the forums, it's often because many "success" threads are nothing but thinly veiled setups for an upcoming WSO or ways to promote an existing one.

People are jaded and I can't say I blame them. I mean, you see someone post "I'm finally making $100/mo!!! Yay!" - while his sig file reads "see how I make $5000 per day with no work"

The fake it till you make it theme is what makes people suspicious of all claims.

And that's why most people fail. They work with the WRONG mentors. People who are earning less then $100 per month online and are struggling themselves go out and sell "How to earn $5,000 per month".

There are some good people online who REALLY earn $5,000, $10,000, $20,000+ per month and you see may of their students have real success too.

Not everyone will find success. There will always be those who sit around waiting for success to find them. There will be those who are simply not willing to achieve it. And then there’s the fact that success would not exist without failure. All of these things create what we know; a world where success and failure are experienced by different groups of people.

In 2009 you started a thread about your income and every post in the thread was encouraging. Nothing from you since 2009 until this month...and the thread was again about your income. Nothing wrong with that but the included signature link is what spammers here do every day now.

Only a couple people expressed skepticism...and based on that you started this thread? Good grief!

Glad you stuck with it - and happy you are doing well. Toughen up and don't take critical comments quite so seriously.

Wow! We do have to know the difference between skepticism or critiques and an actual put down.

But, in my experiences, people who put down someone's success can be:
        • Insecure about their own abilities to accomplish a goal
        • Are jealous of the attention this person's success is receiving.

I have learned that there is good envy and bad envy.

The good envy can motivate someone to go out to do those same things that brought you success. The bad envy leads others to attack and destroy the success you have built for yourself.

Unfortunately, some people may not even be aware of the negative vibes they give off unless someone points it out to them.

There’s two ways to have the tallest building in town...

Tear down everybody else’s building, or to work harder and build a better building.

There is also diggin' alla the ground out from round alla the buildings.

Prolly you could build hierarchies of cellars first, an' as you dug round 'em, they would become a succession of new basements and first floors.

Then, with alla the ground you dug out, you could mebbe build a mountain, visible from alla the new enhanced buildings, to fill people fulla aspirational thoughts.

Not sure you saw this but the OP got called and as IGibbon quoted I think he's referring to his self promotional thread that he was called out on.

So he is miffed that it happened and tried to make this thread so he though he would get others to agree with him

    He was very wrong
