Hard Work Equals Luck

When it comes to being successful there is no such thing as luck. You don't get lucky and own a successful business! You don't get lucky and become a top athlete! You don't get lucky and get that dream car or house. Unless of course you will the lotto or at a casino then you really are one lucky Son of a Biscuit...Real luck is created by hard work, persistence and determination.

Hard work may not always guarantee success right away but I can guarantee you that lack of hard work equals failure. Create your own luck and become the luckiest SOB (Son of a Biscuit) you can possibly be!

luck is created .. yes you put that at the end ..

where hard work shoul be applied..is on personal growth and development so that you can do things that bring you more value ..

bill gates capitalized on a huge amount of luck ..just by the fact that microsoft didn't even have a functional operating system when the partnered with ibm..and they where able to get ibm to allow microsoft to license the os ..outside of ibm..

luck plays a part .. but if you are both unprepared, uneducated ..or unwilling.. luck gets wasted ..

if you are just doing hard work to get stuff done day after day..and not putting in the hard work to improve you skill ,personal infrastructure..or education level..

you will most likly only have what you have now and creat the same life day after day ..

most physical labor and a lot of other hard work .. will be replaced by robots or a program..in the next 20 years ..it's not long before your car will drive itself ..in labs today they have the tricorder from star trac developed..in ten years ..your cell phone will be able to scan you and let you know how you are ..and what nutrient deficiencies you have to care for ..or if you might develop cancer in 5 years ..

so your hard work.. needs to be focused on having the life you want in the world we are becoming..not working physically harder to stay where you are ..

you can either be replaced by robots..or replace yourself with robots and computer programs ..

Agreed, big time. I just made a post about how most people call rich or successful people "lucky" and that what they have is not because of hard work. I believe that's one of the worst mindsets to have since it leads to inaction.

It's like, as you said, you go from laborer to multinational business owner in five seconds because you're "lucky." You can be "lucky" enough to be born with athletic aptitude, but without hard work you won't win that Olympic gold medal.

A lot of people are also waiting for that "Perfect" opportunity, never realizing that there are opportunities all around them and a LOT of them will be "Perfect" if they just took them or created their own.

Luck never appears unless you work and develop yourself enough to make it happen.

a lot of these negative beliefs about rich that keep people poor where sow .. but rich people in the past and the present .. just listen to hillary clinton ..who is very wealthy..and makes hundreds of thousand of dollars giving speaches to rich corperations..then turns around and blast rich people.. she also pay her female staff that 70 cents on the dollar of what she pays her male staff ..and gets up and derides the wage gap ..

a segmant of rich people has always tried to create a system that keeps people in their place ..and it has been done in the USA ..through welfare and high taxation ..

the education system from k through what ever degree a person gets is heavily built around anti wealth programming ..training people to exchange time for money and making profit a bad word ..

there are a large number of people who gain their power by training an ever larger number of people to be hopless and dependent and make it harder for people to live without the help of government ..

still if you are in the Usa or a western country..you are already lucky compared to most of the earths human population ..

you have way more options to move to where money is to be made ..or develope skills to make yourself more valuable .. than many on this planet.. yes a lot of people don't see that ..

buut then a lot of people are more focused on making enough money to get drunk and high and have enough to pay rent and buy food ..i just moved to las vegas ..these people sleeping out on the street .. a few hundred feet from my apartment ..and a few miles away there are people sleeping in luxry hotel rooms and penthouses ..

there are people to burnt out on drugs..or tramatized by life ..to ever make their lives better..than there is a majority of peopl..waiting for someone else to come and make their life better ..

my firs mentor here ..even though it was a short 4 day training to do the hustle i just got in ..he has plenty of money in the bank.. almost 40 years old ..lost his wife and child in a car accident a year ago.. and has cancer and will be dead in 6 months to 2 years ..

wakes up goes out and hustles to pay rent and buy food..even with plenty of money in the bank ..

Being at the right place at the right time with the right skills / info (ie., 'getting lucky') takes a lot of work...

    Seriously.

    Why?

You have to know the right things ... That takes work.

Everything else might be serendipitous but you still have to take care of basics.

That's why the OP is spot on.

Luck comes to you when invited. But that's metaphysics and few will get the gist of it.

Hardworking people usually have two jobs, working overtime and scrambling for money.

Then there are millionaires who slave away to retain their wealth. They mostly use their Mercedes to commute and maybe enjoy weekends. I'm bored.

I just looked at the Pareto Principle and it's definitely an interesting theory. 20% percent of our work counts for 80% of our results. By focusing on only what's important in that important 20% you will be able to get more done in less time.

Since I've been studying time management I've been noticing that the key to getting things done faster and more efficiently is to simplify everything.

Work harder but only where it counts. That 20% is very important!

here is the key.. ..the hard work is doing the analysis then..applying more effort to where you are most productive and have the most return.. if that turns out to mean you have a few hour in the morning that are very productive..and a few hours in the evening or afternoon .. set those times apart to be productive ..and maybe put in a bit or a lot of me time during those time where not much happens ..

then work on being more productive or doing more valuable things in those golden periods ..

most corperations ..now run skeleton crewes of people much of the year..enough people to keep thing functioning ..then when the get busy the hire on a bunch of temporary workers or .. the hire a outsource agency to handel over flow ..

chance are your business will have a few months of the year very busy..some months kinda ok ..then others dead ....like the lions pride where there are times of the year ..where buffalo are everywhere ..and other times ..your luck to get enough food so the pride doesn't starve ..

you can litterally almost design many businesses ..so you only really work and sell stuff a few months a year .. and the rest of the year is relax time ..

lets say you put the hard work in to creat a product that sells for 10,000 dollars..and its a 50 percent margin ..but you only sell 3 a month..you are still making 15k profit ..

but most people will get stuck at the 50$, 100$ or at most 300$ products..and have to work much harder ..

so the hard work is always better to focus on the value ..

not with internet marketing..you are moore looking at a .1 percent rule ..because you are only getting income from a small fraction..of those who consume your products online ..

Amen brother. I have such a high respect for anyone who has achieved great accomplishments because know that great achievements don't just happen by luck. The only luck I believe in is the luck that is created by preparing yourself for the right opportunity.

I programmed my mind feeling and being lucky that I became more creative and motivated to give the best I could and the results have been confounding. It's been about twenty years I've been through this process and it never failed me.
