Hope you have a great time there. Enjoy your vacation.

One way to release addiction is to focus on other things. Do other things than your usual routine.

Be distracted by other things. Try to do other stuffs.

      Thanks you nwik,
Yes it's that I think, but in the long term it's important to take care of the old habit which can restart by a way unexpected.

Replace the addiction with a smaller one. Smoking weed can open up your mind if done in moderation. Plus have rituals in place and do a lot of silent self-talk. However silly a ritual can be, the effect can be drastic - because... we all have powers and can tap on them by exploring the deep-rooted fields of the psyche.

    Interesting comment Master Blake.
And I can understand sometimes to be stone allow to be creative. Bob Marley is the good example.
Also the difficulty is to find a balance between the moderation and excess.

I believe the first step to releasing an addiction is to accept that you cannot release a serious addiction, it will always be with you.....

The second step is too accept that an addiction is very powerful and you need to produce either a lot of will power...(which in my opinion is why most people fail) or, you can make a plan to change the addiction to another desired habit...

As an example.... you smoke, you want to stop after 20 years of smoking... will power, however strong is not going to cut it.

A plan.... let's say you work 9-5... any plan that includes your daily habits will probably not work.

What would work better is to book a 2 week holiday, say 3-6 months from now.....

You could start your plan as soon as you have booked your holiday...

    1. Every time you light up... tell yourself that you will be stopping smoking on the day that your holiday starts.
    2. Go online and read about the damage that smoking does to your body, look at the disgusting pictures and videos that are available online, do it on a regular basis, make it a new habit.

We are pure creatures of habit.

The problem a lot of people have with changing habits is that they never stick with the first one they want to change.......

When you experience the first habit change, you realise how easy it is to change any habit.

It makes life so much better.

    It is literally life changing.

    Cheers

The place for creativity in marketing is NOT to create something out of nothing...

Thank you so much for your reply aapma,
Yes the addiction is powerful and with a time, it's become a 2nd nature if no one still in inertia and continue in the vice.
The perfection doesn't exists but you can react to try that you can change.
Instead of to still focus on the people who fail, why we are not looked the people who have succeeded?
It's sure if you want to stop a habit of 20 years, this work will be in the long term, after it's a choice to continue in the vice or to react at any price.
Where it's interesting it's about a habit: that's why the human being is very well done and according to the study we can change a habit.
I know what's this an addiction of 15 years and I still believed it's always possible to change.

Nice road cjsparacino123, thank you for sharing ;-)
In the long term there will have a result if you persist. To change a habit of the long time that's demand to repeat non stop until the desire result.
We don't need to be perfect directly tomorrow but step by step.
