You need only one quality to succeed

I was going through my emails and i came across this statement which puzzelled me a bit from a very famous and successful personal development coach i subscribe to. He said, "You need only one quality to succeed. You must have discipline." and he went on to say because discipline is the ability to give yourself a command and then follow it.

What do you think..? Is this true?

Discipline is just one trait of the many. You must have a combustible amount of energy to keep moving forward and become actualized. Then you must tame the wild horsepower and steer it to key directions.

Hello felisitie, thanks for your sharing,
The discipline is necessary in the long term process of success: to be persistant and patient.
Many ingredients again can complete the discipline to know the success ;-)

Discipline is certainly an important quality... but I think there's a lot more qualities that go into succeeding.

For example, courage could also be an important quality... like the courage it takes to do a task that requires you to step out of your comfort zone? What about perseverance? What about flexibility/adaptability/an open mind?

I'm sure a person's success can be attributed to multiple qualities... Discipline is important, but I don't think it's enough on it's own.

Discipline is important, for sure. However there are plenty of other things that go into any kind of success that go beyond discipline.

For example, proper decision making is vital to success. You can force yourself (discipline) to make a decision by a certain date, let's say, but discipline alone won't help you make a good decision. The decisions we make, in most cases, are what makes or breaks us.

Discipline is a very important part to succeed.

If you know how to discipline yourself you'll gonna go a long way.

You should have the power to control yourself and to know your limits.
