Destroy The Competition

You need to engage in your niche with the mentality of domination. You need to destroy your competition and take your place at the top. It won't be easy, but it is a way better mindset to have rather than going into a niche and trying to feed off the little scraps left over in your niche.

Your mentality is the most important factor in determining whether you become successful or not. If you think small, you will get small results. If you think big, you will get big results.

Another alternative (because we're all in slightly different Niches) is to join forces with your "competition" for the benefit of your subscribers/customers/etc.

    (Just my opinion.)

I agree. From my experience most of the successful guys will not want to do business with you unless you have some form of credibility or you pay them. So, when you focus on becoming the best and you end up becoming somewhat successful, at some point that normally opens up opportunities for joint-ventures and such with other successful guys.

I think it is important to realise there is always more wealth to be created. We are not all competing for a slice of the same pie. Approach your marketing with a mindset of creativity and abundance - there is more than enough for everybody.

Agreed. Money is not in shortage and neither is success, but if you want to be successful you need to focus on being the best in your field. A lot of people jump into business and they want to stay under the radar and behind-the-scenes, and although that does work for some people, it also puts a limit on your potential and the amount of success you could achieve for yourself, your business, and your customers.

We don't need to be in the competition: no one will win like that.
We need to be stimulated and motivated by the actions and to create a habit in the long term: many success people have understood how to use the habit at their advantage.
An this habit will make part of the mentality ;-)

I'm a competitive guy and there are other competitive people out there. This post is for them. There will always be an alternate perspective and I can only speak for what has worked for me. Although I'm a competitive guy I don't go around attacking anyone and trying to bring others down, but I simply ask myself, "How can I create a better product, service, and experience than my competitors?"

You're right to be a competitive guy: if it's worked for you, yes continue on this way ;-)
My post was just an opinion, not the truth. And I have understood it's not about the attack.
Good question! To create your better product, service and experience: you will feel it when you will be in your ideal disposition.

I think David DeAngelo/Eben Pagan's business model is worth mentioning. Essentially, he brought together all of the most influential Gurus in the Dating/Seduction Niche and turned that into an info product to the tune of millions of dollars.

As I once heard: "Don't compete, create."

          you're missing the boat...

he also gave us the ability through this, to build amazing businesses. I was one of his most popular interviews back in the day and that helped me launch a business thats done well into 7 figures over the last 11 years.

          all the respect to eben.

That's exactly what I mean: Instead of competing with you guys, he joined forces with you.

he gave us a platform.... if you were smart you used it to your advantage. I built a very successful business from it... but also remember back then he WAS the 800 lb gorilla in the market... no one was remotely close... he had ALL the subscribers and customers.... smart move by him too...

Yeah, I totally agree that our success really depends on our mindset.

On the other hand, it's nice to have a competition because it will serve as a driving force to do better and not to remain average.

But you know what, competition is also good.

You'll try to be better. You'll try to do better.

With the presence of competition you'll try to do better among others.

interestingly in the competitive world.. cheating seems to be the norm ..depending on what is considered cheating ..so if your highly competitive cheating works ..

i don't like to compete ..im not playing games online anymore.. but the last few years i play games where i was alway among the best in the game at least on the server .. even when i played wow..i was one of the better geared players im my class ..just wasn't elite then ..

when you are playing with the best cooperating with them and competing against them.. it pushes you to be better ..

now of course if you can compete hard .. against the comption that is not in your niech or the indistry you are in..but does compete for the attention and money from your customers ..that is a lot of what you are competing against ..

now the gig i am doing now i dress up as alan from hang over and work on the las vegas strip.. there are 3 or 4 others who dress in the same costume ..so i tend to stay on a different part of the strip..and i move around .. i tend to compete more with bad weather and mid afternoon sun than the other cotume actors..and the fact a lot of people don't carry cash any more ..but its my costume so i don't have a boss ..

trey can i ask as a coach ..are you competing more with other coaches ..or with your clients percieved need for coaching and willingness to pay what you charge ..

now as an afiliate marketer you probably have to out comptete 99 percent of the other afilliates ..

then again 90 percent of them are lazy and might not require much to out compete

He Odahh sounds like an interesting gig. I might be in Las Vegas later this month so we might bump into each other haha.

Anyway, to answer your question, I look at my competitors' services and my clients' problems and I figure out how I can create the best solution and experience in the market for my clients.

My goal is to make sure the value of my services outweigh the price of my services times 10. So, if someone is not willing to work with me because of price I know that either they just don't have the money or they're not truly committed and in those cases I wouldn't want to work with them especially if it's the latter case.

So, yes I'm competing with both my competitors and I'm competing for the attention of my clients. I believe if you focus on having the best value in comparison to your competitors and focus on creating that perception in the eyes of your prospects, you will have no choice but to prosper in your field.

understand this guys.... there was NO competition for him.

he had ALL the emails, ALL the buyers... he had everything.

we had great content, sure... but he had all the assets other than this one thing.

so you have to see it differently... he had all the assets, but one... more content.

eventually you run out of things to teach.... and you already have the rest of the infrastructure built... so for him I think it was a good way to get more material, make his products even better...

without his help, I wouldn't have been able to grow my business the way it has... so I'm eternally thankful and grateful to him.

now when you say destroy the competion.. i doubt you meant pushing them out of business ..which might be the perception ..are you meaning it more as a performance aspect ..in just offer better service or the best service ..

I see a lot of people preaching mentality and mindset, but I see too many people that do not have those two but still have success. It feels good to have a method to just change your thinking and everything else falls into place but its not the whole story. If I were to choose any one thing it would be willpower. I would certainly bet on someone that put in more effort and focus than someone that had happy thoughts and felt good about what they are doing. People confuse good feelings with results. #WhateverFloatsYourBoat

Sometimes it's not having a certain mindset per se (as in something they have to develop) but a lack of "limiting beliefs/mindsets/etc". Many people for instance got undesirable programming about wealth and money while growing up.

the mentality and mindset for success ..depends on what you are actually doing ..same with willpower ..it takes a different mindset and mental strength ..to be a pro body builder ..verse a comedian..verse a successful real estate developer ..and on and on ..

yes most every successful person has goals..but what never get talked about..is just how many goals they set that don't happen ..

there are a lot more people are are successful and happy..but not living the life so you can tell ..my mentor had many business around the country..and a good amount of money in the bank..but he did what i am doing now and lived in a weekly apartment ..

now he got married to a woman he new for a week..spend 80 grand on a truch and a travel trailor and the gear to travel..and they are somewhere now ..haha ..

there are successfull people and then there is looking like successful people should look based on what the masses think successful people look life ..

granted there is a competition to look rich and you have billionairs or people with hundreds of millions of dollars who engage in many types of mines bigger competition ..but after a few millions dollars ..it is probably that kind of competition that drives people..just look at trump ..
