Optimist vs Pessimist vs Realist

Realist: He's down to earth, maybe more often than not is very calculative and weighs facts according to his experiences. A realist sometimes refrains from taking risks, heeds the news and needs more facts to make up a decision.

Pessimist: He always views holes in almost every opportunity. Needs a ton of reassurance to form a decision and most often is found placed amidst the devastating majority. A bottom feeder and generally someone to avoid because he looks for flaws thus becoming flawed on his own. His favorite sport is kicking tires.

Optimist: Sees opportunities even in ambiguous circumstances, goes against the odds and is an avid envisionist. Failure is just another lesson to him and is willing to take risks thus increasing the odds to reap the dividends down the road. He constantly gets stimulated by experiences that put a smile on his face and squeezes joy out of life.

Thanks Master Blake for this topic ;-)
It's a good idea to keep balance between realist and optimist ;-)

With due regards, I differ with Blake.

I put it in very simple words for easy grasping.

There is no difference among optimists, pessimists, and realists.

All of them have a desire to be successful.

So from the point of intention, there is no difference.

And however when it comes to executing the dreams they differ completely.

Optimist ventures but do wrong things and eventually fail.

Pessimist never ventures because they can't come out of their comfort zone.

Realist first sees the things clearly, then ventures and do right things and eventually succeeds.

If you do wrong things right things doesn't come to our life.

All the Internet marketers are optimists, but the majority will fail because they do wrong things.

Sometimes I wonder does a pessimist really want to be successful. They probably do but I think they have deep rooted fear or anchors they were conditioned with and use pessimism as both a shield and crutch.

Sometimes a realist will pull the trigger quickly and confidently because they accept that they will need tools, mentoring, budgets, etc they do not give it a second thought they just do it. I do not think it holds them back they actually can make decisions much faster.

Optimist probably are our favorite customers. They believe. They smile in the face of adversity and get invited to parties a lot more often because everybody wants to be around them. Great for networking.

      Just my humble insights.

Praveen is a Realist, if I'm no wrong :-). But Praveen, I'm having a different opinion in one case,("Optimist ventures but do wrong things and eventually fail"). It's actually the over-optimism which fails.

I prefer to have the view of Nassime, keeping a balance b/w the O and R.

    you need all three ...

people who are overly optimistic and or way to on the positive thinking train..are sometimes naive and get into dangerous situations

though a lot of people tend to be bi polar shifting between being overly optimistic then getting burned and turning around and becoming pessimistic ..

as for realists hmm ..it really depends on what their definition of reality is ..

I'm a realist and an optimist.

I sometimes refrain from taking risks and when I take one, I always keep a positive outlook that whatever happens is for a good reason.

Out of all the three you mentioned above, I can say that I am all of them.

I can't help but sometimes I really become pessimist. But most of the time I am an optimistic person.

No doubt, I'm a realist. I always see things in reality rather than just ideally.

I am totally and definitely a realist.

I always view life as it is. I always choose to see reality instead of fantasising it.

The biggest detriment is putting a blanket definition upon yourself and others.

There will be situations which call for supposed 'realism', situations which which call for so called 'optimism' and other which call for 'pessimism'.

Selecting the best course of action for each and every circumstance and refining intuit action often paves the path to success. 'Success' too being subjective.

I can say that I am an realist and an optimist. I am realist because whenever I want to start something, I think about anything that can go wrong and any good sides to the thing I do. Before I start something I collect data from people I know in that line of work or from the internet so I can calculate any outcome, and I can calculate any possible loses and their size. The factors and the news affect my judgment and my decision most of the time when I have to start something new. But also I am an optimist, because even I am cautious about the jobs I want to start that is a good thing because I know what I can expect, but I am also optimistic with the things I do. Because, I have done my job in the background and I know what I can expect and I know that that a failure is not an option, even if that happens I will be richer with knowledge and experience for the next business I plan to do.
