Personal Development Traffic Generation

I know there are so many opinions on how to get traffic to your lead pages. It seems that it is harder when you are not in the MMO niches.

I am a newer marketer and looking for YOUR tried and true methods for traffic in this niche.

I've been searching and not finding recent posts on this topic.

No real difference to getting traffic in any niche:

    • Content (lots of it)
    • YouTube videos
    • Facebook/Twitter/etc
    • Document sharing
    • Maybe forums
    • Maybe retargeting ads
Basically getting your site in front of your target market and drawing (should I say attracting?!) people to your lead magnet.

I know there are a stupid amount of solo ad providers for MMO. It seems PD Solos are not nearly as ubiquitous.

I'm in the same niche, but mine focuses on people from my home country.

Content is is what you should focus on, and do keyword research to optimize it for search engines. In my case, I target keywords in my own language and it works (although very few people search it in our language so it's not nearly enough traffic. I'm working on it.).

Forums also work on my end as I frequent niche forums for my home country as well.

As for social media, Facebook is good and so is Pinterest. I haven't tried Twitter, but I heard it's one of the best in growing a following. There's a way to handle facebook pages I hear, and that's by not spamming it with just your own content. Share fun stuff from other people as well.

Aside from that... I want to say Stumbleupon, but going viral there is like winning the lottery. It did happen for me once last year though, but it's unreliable.

Yes, I think solo ads would not be a good idea. But, Forum marketing and facebook and linkedin groups can help you a lot

    Hey AlexD79,
    Thanks for your article,
I'm in the same case of you and there are many possibilities with a lot of patience.
The process is in the long term and I understand your request: for example me I am focused how to develop my audience on my blog and in social networks.
BTW if I learn something which can help you I'll let you know ;-)

For the Personal Development market, I wouldn't buy a "Solo Ad" leading to bots subscribing to my list... Bots aren't Buyers. :-)

If the "Solo Ad" traffic was so profitable, they'd use it to make themselves very wealthy.....

    What I'd do is...

Become well known for Personal Development on YouTube.... and call around to your local business groups, networking groups, civic groups, etc. to see if they have any available slots for Speakers. Speak to any group that will let you get in front of them. That is how Tony Robbins did it....

This is one Market I believe you're going to need to put yourself "out there" to gain real traction.

  • You have to look for genuine solo ads sellers in this niche then.

Who says you cannot be profitable using solo ads? I started buying them a few months. Today I have a list of 13k in personal development niche, which are ongoing customers that I can keep on selling.
