That's a great quote! My favourite in my sig. I keep trying to find one I like better because I like to change it from time to time, but I after I found the Helen Keller quote, I have found nothing quite so direct and profound.

I have spent a lot of time sitting on the sidelines and reading, rather than actually putting in hard work. (used to be a lurker of a lot of forums, now actually posting and contributing and making campaigns and creating content). So for me the final quote "What the f*ck have you done lately?" resonates with me and reminds me to be learning first hand, not just by reading

    Ok, all you quote junkies...

This is a copy-and-paste from my swipe file of quotes.

Sorry I don't include the original source with each quote:

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you never try.

Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

You can't aim a duck to death.

Learning new things won't help the person who isn't using what he already knows.

The great aim of education is not knowledge, but action.

It is easy to go nowhere. It requires no energy and has no risk except that of being left behind. To go forward and run ahead is a supreme test.

It's not what you know that makes the difference. It's what you DO with what you know that makes the difference.

Become solution-oriented... not worry-oriented, and you will find pleasure where others find pain and discomfort.

Often greater risk is involved in postponement than in making a wrong decision.

Most people can do extraordinary things if they have the confidence or take the risks. Yet most people don't. They sit in front of the TV and treat life as if it goes on forever.

Adversity is an experience, not a final act.

If you don't fail now and again, it's a sign you're playing it safe.

Failure is an event, never a person.

The cure for grief is motion.

We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

If you want to increase your success rate, double your failure rate.

Bad times have a scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss.

There are two ways of meeting difficulties: you alter the difficulties or you alter yourself meeting them.

The crisis of today is the joke of tomorrow.

Success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm.

While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Remember, there are two benefits of failure. First, if you do fail, you learn what doesn't work. Second, the failure gives you an opportunity to try a new approach.

It may not be your fault for being down, but it's got to be your fault for not getting up.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.

There is no failure except no longer trying. There is no defeat except from within, nor really insurmountable barrier save our own inherent weakness of purpose.

If you're not happy every morning when you get up, leave for work, or start to work at home--if you're not enthusiastic about doing that, you're not going to be successful.

Enthusiasm is the greatest asset in the world. It beats money, power, and influence.

A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.

Once you say you're going to settle for second, that's what happens to you.

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

My philosophy is to never start talking about 'if' or 'but,' or the past, because 90% of what follows will be negative.

If you see ten troubles coming down the road, you can be sure that nine will run into the ditch before they reach you.

The world behaves differently when you actually take action to go after what you want. What you wish 'could be' starts becoming. The dream moves in your direction, begins to come to you, even as you reach for it.

Each problem has hidden in it an opportunity so powerful that it literally dwarfs the problem. The greatest success stories were created by people who recognized a problem and turned it into an opportunity.

Don't make your goals too easy; you'll be cheating yourself.

When you reach for the stars, you may not quite get one, but you won't come up with a handful of mud, either.

The future does not get better by hope, it gets better by plan. And to plan for the future we need goals.

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, learn about them, or even seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

Never speak of yourself to others; make them talk about themselves instead; therein lies the whole art of pleasing. Everybody knows it, and everyone forgets it.

It's not so much knowing when to speak, as when to pause.

What you do off the job determines how well you'll do on the job.

Forget the times of your distress, but never forget what they taught you.

The person who wins may have been counted out several times, but he didn't hear the referee.

Only those who have the patience to do simple things perfectly will acquire the skill to do difficult things easily.

I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.

Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one's ideas, to take a calculated risk--and to act.

If you're never scared, embarrassed, or hurt, it means you never take any chances.

Scare yourself. If you're not scared, it ain't big enough.

If you limit your actions to things that nobody can possibly find fault with, you will not do much.

There's as much risk in doing nothing as in doing something.

Security is mostly a superstition. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

The greatest mistake you can make is to be continually fearing you will make one.

The more I want to get something done, the less I call it work.

If you are going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think BIG. It's very simple. Most people think small because they are afraid of success, afraid of making decisions, and afraid of winning. And that gives people like me a big advantage.

    - George

There are many limiting thoughts in the human environment that can make it seem that these so-called incurable illnesses, or unchangeable conditions cannot not be changed. But we say that they are only "unchangeable" because you believe they are. Someone asked us recently, "Is there any limitation to the body's ability to heal?" And we said, None, other than the belief that you hold. And he asked, "Then why aren't people growing new limbs?" And we said, Because no one believes they can." - Abraham-Hicks

Here is mine from Ralph Waldo Emerson, quite long though:

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

    Tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This day is all that is good and fair.
It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays.
