What is the 80 20 law?

One of the exemplary tenets in business and time management is the 80 20 law. The 8020 law requires a breakdown that is static of at any one time, as polar to adjust after some time. Overall, this creates value for anyone who might be using the tenet of the 8020 rule.

This law was first observed in the garden of peas where 20% of the pods generated 80% of the harvest.

Indeed, do you think that we can actually work less and yet become more successful?

    Hi thanks for this thread,

The 80/20 principle works when the priority is defined very well. To keep the essentials tasks and the others can be delegated or eliminated.
It's here the ease to keep the focus only on that is the most important for us ;-)

I've discovered you can only know which 20% is most productive by doing stuff and seeing what comes of it. At least for me, it's not clear ahead of time - I find it afterwards as well as sometimes in doing in the moment.

I find that every day I get more done and still seem to have lots of time left over for one of my favourite pastimes, which is reading personal development books.

I look forward to investigating my time more fully so that I can concentrate on my most productive activities

80-20 principle is a very effective way in decision mapping. It is not just applied in the amount of work done. It can also be applied in solving business problems. In the decision-mapping theory, this principle defines that if you have solved 20% of the problem, you already solved 80% of the problem.

An example would be like, if you want to lose weight. Instead of sticking to the same exercise to make progress, you can change it around. OR some people would like to keep it simple by sticking to 1 exercise instead of many exercises variation.

Another Example: Let saying you're getting customers from many sources of Social Media. At the end of the day, you found that you're getting the most customers from Reddit, then you would focus 100% energy level to interact more within the Reddit community.

  • In relation to internet marketing,

I would say that people should spend more time on driving traffic then creating content.

After all, distribution is key to success online. That is another example of the 8020 Rule.

    Yes, it works for me.

ie: 80% of my traffic comes from 20% of my traffic campaign.
