Closed My Business The Pros and Cons

Ugh...

Closed my ghost writing business that was run mostly on Fiverr in February.

Pros:
No more rude clients.
No more people who don't see how hard I work.
No more having to pray for clients or money or work.
No more writing. I use to love it now I hate it.
No more crappy pay ... seriously $3 a story SUCKED.

Cons:
NO money!
Without my online income and with the addition of school and day care..My husband's income is all we have. And I have to actually beg for money from him.

The only thing I have to hold onto is my faith but goodness I am so tried of being money-less. Sucks worst that I can't find anything in my home to sell on ebay... lol

    Don't loose your hope just find another way of getting money because you are in right profession. Now a days writing is in demand. If you write good then must do something for getting money.

    I feel the demand for writers is based on buyers who want amazing articles for 1 cent per word. I have no desire to go back to it and start back at zero. Thanks for trying to motivate me to go back into the field. But school and family is my focus these days.

    What is the answer?

    If school and family is your focus - that's great. If being broke is your focus, do something about it.

    Your big problem when writing was FIVERR. It's the lowest possible prices with bargain hunting buyers.

    When I was freelance writing I had great clients who were fun to work with - I didn't work for pennies and I doubt I'm a better writer than you are. If you want to earn what you are worth - you have to position yourself to do that.

    It's not the client's job to know how hard you work - to the client your work should seem effortless and efficient....even if you stay up all night to meet that deadline. If you placed 50 bids a day - emphasizing your experience and maturity - on standard freelance sites (not Fiverr) - you could find work to do and have some income.

    But -there are only so many hours in a day. If you are taking care of children, working a job (?), and going to school....there's probably no time/energy for freelancing right now. Just keep it in mind for the future.

    Pick it up and dust it off, kid. If you decide to start freelancing again - give yourself a better chance than Fiverr.

      Thank you honey. I appreciate the pick me up and the advice. Fiverr was the worst mistake of it all. UGH If only I had known that before getting all those stupid reviews!

      If I got back into freelancing after finishing school-- biding daily on high paying sites is the way to get back into it and actually earn enough to pay for food.
