My Favorite Bucket List Family

Here's a story about a guy, who sold his app for $54 million, and then what?

He bought himself a castle?
He has a fleet of Lamborghinis?
A private jet is a must?

None of these. That's why I love this guy. Here's the whole story:

This guy sold an app to Snapchat for $54M and is now on an endless vacation

My first thought was that this guy was crazy. He worked hard and has every right to enjoy himself. Yet, he decided to travel around the world with his family. His LinkedIn status says:

"2016 : Sold everything for adventure around the world with family."

Now, on the second thought, I don't think he's crazy. He was brilliant to develop this useful app. He's brilliant to take care of his life in the right way.

How about you? What would you do, if you were in his shoes? I can't develop an app, but I can try to write a novel. I would use the money to become the full-scale digital nomad. Travel, write, enjoy. Of course, I have some financial "obligations" to take care back home, but after that I'm good to go.

I believe we're going to hear more from this guy. Right now, I would like to hear what do you think about this bucket list family?

I think this guy has the right idea.

I read about this and thought I would probably do exactly the same.

Who knows how hard he worked to build up the app and sell his company, he probably made a ton of sacrifices and realised what was important in life. Without re-reading the article, I think I recall he hasn't yet started spending any of the $54 and has been living off savings or dividends - good for him.

I honestly think that he will need or want something at some point to engage himself however with a young family and a wife, I don't think there is a better way to celebrate the future than being on an endless vacation.

Quite envious really, however, good things happen to good people. Looking forward to seeing how his future pans out and how he invests this windfall in the future...

I think you just gave an idea for the next thread you should write about:
"Good things happen to good marketers."
Is this true? We should ask other warriors what they have to say about it.

Regarding our friend, who's showing us the way. I began my journey toward the absolute freedom some five or six years ago when I lost a full-time job in sales. Since then, I've been freelancing. I have no intention to go back to white collars. I just had enough of them. Yes, I definitely envy this guy.

That's a good use of money but still, he's supposed to invest in something so he can travel...forever

To be quite honest, I think that this guy is gonna enjoy this travel time for some time. However, sooner or later, his desire for innovations and new entrepreneurship challenges will bring him back to the corporate world. "Forever" can more than one interpretation. I believe we should live more than one life within our one and only life, if you know what I mean. His kids gonna grow up, he's gonna stop moving around the glob, he's gonna be bored. What's the most likely thing for him to do? To come up with a new app or solution. That's his way. Let's wait and see, but this is my best guess. Thx for dropping by. Cheers!
