Hi all,

I am the owner of a website called DogTrainster (DogTrainster.com) and I have an ebook entitled "Train Yourself to Train Your Dog" for sale within the website.

I am contemplating to revamp the whole site and would like to hear of some suggestions on how can I improve it so that at the end of the day I will sell some of my books. The current website has a community builder, autoresponder and also tell a friend engine.

Should I make it as a 1 page sales letter website or a social network (improve the current website engine) to engage and connect with other dog owners? What is the best model in the online world for the dog industry to make money?

Comments and suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

The main thing you should be concentrating on right now should be targeted traffic. Then you can(and should) cycle through 2-3 variations of the site and/or sales page and then choose the best. This has always led to an increase in my ROI.

      Hi,

I am in the dog training niche as well. I think what was a little confusing to me when I got to your site is what should I do?

Am I right when I say that you are selling two things..?

      1. an e-book
      2. a mini-course

When I get to the site and there is so much going on I sometimes click off.
Maybe you could give away the e-course and create some value and your visitors will come back and purchase your book.

I also agree with the above comment. Get some traffic first and if it isn't converting then you know you need to change your offer.

      Hope that helps,
      Susan

I wonder if having two choices for signing up may leave people not knowing which to use, and they may not choose either. Maybe when the targeted traffic comes in, you could giveaway the "common mistakes" report to build your list, then market your course to that list. That way it's totally clear where you want people to sign up, and there's no confusion.
