Have you ever done this personality test? Its results confuse me

by krasnivi 4 replies

Recently I did an DISC personality evaluation test. I got results that confuse me.

In some parts of personality description I recognize myself, while on other parts of the test qualities I shoud have (according test) I think I dont have.

Thus im confused now. If this test is so acurate (as it said) whos wrong here: me (not giving myself enough credit) or the test (it's jus a test)

Any ideas? Perhaps you did this test too? Can you share you opinion about its acuracy?

not familiar with DISC, but looking at it now.... it seems similar to OCEAN (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism).... OCEAN is a well established and respected personality rubric.

I know about half dozen personality tests and they all have their strengths. with DISC, not familiar enough to know the strengths, but as a weakness the Dominance category does not seem accurate. "blunt and gets straight to the point" vs "seeing the big picture" are distinctly different traits which should not be grouped together. (like ESTJ vs ENTJ in myers-briggs personality test)

you should compare DISC to other tests to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of it.

i just ran thrugh it quick the main result came back fine

    Comparatively High

Here are some traits and behaviours that describe people who are comparatively high in Dominance:

    enjoy competition and challenge.
are goal orientated and want to be recognised for their efforts.
aim high, want authority and are generally resourceful and adaptable.
    are usually self-sufficient and individualistic.
may lose interest in projects once the challenge has gone and they tend to be impatient and dissatisfied with minor detail.

this is how i am now it has changed in the last year now the lower ranked results seemed to be flipped the list of high and low feel backwards

I've taken the DISC personality test in the past and actually found it pretty spot on for me. Maybe you could try taking it a second time? Or, you could also try to take this similar test:

I have never heard of the DISC test but do know for a fact that looking yourself up in the "Birthday Book" is the greatest way to know yourself best. Best wishes to you!
