How often do we find ourselves going along with the status quo simply because "that's what everybody does?" What may be popular is not necessarily the most effective. Observation, reflection, and informed decision-making are key to ascertain whether what others are doing makes sense for us.

Like Water Droplets

Most individuals are like water droplets. They flow quickly in the direction of least resistance; with all of the other water droplets. Why? Because uncomfortable conditions of unhappiness are accepted and preferred. These conditions are predictable and tolerable for the moment. Improvement, being bold, and trying new things is unpredictable and potentially even more uncomfortable.

It Depends On US

Imagine if we didn't wait for things to become intolerable. What if we kept improving no matter what; even if things are going badly, okay, or great. We could become unstoppable. The grit and discipline we earned in the rough times could put our improvement on the fast track during the good times.

    Yes, Mark Twain got it, as does Einstein and others, if clear, obvious evidence is given and dismissed, ignored, and forgotten about asap, just so you go alone with the masses, what does that say?

    That you favour feeling safe and secure above, intelligence.


    The internet is overrun with such individuals that only seem to stay members or post in order to keep that status quo, not to uncover new knowledge and progress forward.

    Some individuals also need to believe in a cause, since they don't believe in much else. At least til the cause starts to collapse, due to highly reliable evidence.

    Then the conversation goes into a bizarre mix of twisting, and combining, etc, said evidence to prove to everyone that the clear cut proof is not clear cut proof.

    About all they do is prove to everyone reading it, that these individuals have serious issues, and need to be given a wide birth.

    This is from personal experience dealing with an army if these F***wits on New Age type forums.

    Probably explains why even when the Wright Brothers got their plane off the ground some still wouldn't believe it.

    Must have been some interesting conversations back then, "the plane flew off the ground, for this long, using petrol engines", "no, it didn't, it just looked like it did".

    Best to keep away from people like that, stupid is a bad habit.

      i'm sure most people did not even know it happened untill planes where flying over there heads a few years later

      it like right now a majority of people still think a college degree is wort getting .. when a huge number of college loans in the usa are in default .. so people are not even able to pay the loan payments back just a few years out of college .. so now there is a huge bitter underclass of well educate people .. waiting tables and serving coffee at starbucks

      to many people do not even care if the clear cut evidence is against them ..how they feel the truth should be is what really matters .. and after 20 years of self esteem pumping.. people end up needing counseling if their feeling get hurt and you tell them they are wrong ..people are getting very upset that fast food chains i rolling out automation in their store in response to demands for higher minimum wages around the country ..I mean in the USA

      on the other hand just because you are in the minority ..does not mean you are correct sometimes the majority is correct .. 40 years ago it was a great idea to have a job and work at a company and look forward to retirement.. because it was so damn capital intensive to start ..and advertise a business and you needed like 2 million in revenue to take home 50k .. if you owned the business .

      now things are changing fast and you could probably learn build and run a business that nets 50k for less than it cost 1 year at university

        True, regardless of minority or majority viewpoints, it all gets down to, evidence from reputable sources, being ignored.

        If scientists acted like some of the nutters l have come across, the world would be back at the stone ages.

        Some in this world will go to any lengths, to be safe, or to believe that gov, bodies, are warm and fuzzy, eventhough it is blatantly obvious that they are lying their brains out.

        Wealth falls alone similar lines, "l am working hard, so online wealth is impossible" since l cannot allow the thought that my hard life may be an option rather than a necessity".

        Two sides of the fence, one is right and one isn't, nothing will change that, until one person becomes wealthy online, then the other dismisses it as luck.

        At least til the 50k is thrown on the kitchen table, then reality Finally starts to creep in.

          well the reason to trust science is when real scientist are willing to prove what they belive is true might be false ..which is lacking in many so called scientists today ..as climate scientist and food scientist are a proof of ..

          the thing that makes science great it that you can question what science tells you until some people develop usefull thing for humanity from what science tells them or discovers .

          science cannot be the new religion and in the last 50 years many peoples beliefs in science has been pushed to the religious point .. " it science so shut up you non believer "

          i am pro science iam anti putting science as the new religion and i have been accused of being anti science when i list a hole lot of bad thing that science has done or released in the last hundred years .

          to be real science the science is never settled .

          we live in a time where every few days something that was impossible ..is possible .

          in the 100 plus degree heat in vegas people cell phones are dieing faster than they should .. i wonder when you have a car that runs of what is a big cell phone better how the heat and clod will effect it .

    Just like Steve Jobs said: "Everything you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you."

    Question the status quo, challenge your own beliefs and break the norms whenever appropriate.

    Don't be intimidated by authority just because of their authority. Be a maverick and go fly with the eagles.
