I had one of my students ask me on different ways to improve his self confidence in himself and the things that he does (work wise). Figured I'd like to get a couple of ideas for him book, video, or CD wise.

Ideas or suggestions?

Tim

Your student might want to start with the Self Confidence formula from the Think and Grow Rich book. I read that everyday I can.

Self-Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson has been helpful to me.

Are your students setting targets for themselves that they do not have the skills yet to accomplish?

I've set smaller targets in the beginning that stretch me and are in the realm of possibility for me.

Hope that's a start for your students.

      Hey,

There`s many sources which help obtaining self confidence, one of it is (Self-confidence building in 7 steps), you can find it in this link

      Self-Confidence Building in 7 Steps

This should help him in the following:-

Gain confidence in any area of your life

Get motivated to reach any goal you set

      Gain freedom from unwanted fears

Feel confident from the inside out

      Eliminate negative and limiting beliefs

      Feel positive about yourself

Become more relaxed and in control of your actions

Increase your self esteem and self worth

      Heighten your determination levels

Have a sense of personal power

Empower you to persevere to realise your goal

      Wish that can help him.

      B.Regards...

    >>Or Think & Grow Rich by Napolean hill.

    Can't go wrong there.

I rather like Tony Robbins' work (eg. Awaken the Giant Within), too, but I know he rubs some people the wrong way. Depends on your student.

Maybe you've already told him this, but of course, true self-confidence will come from doing and from real-world experience, not reading. Some people don't have self confidence for a reason and it's not just because of they're "mindset." It's only natural not to have confidence in something you don't have much experience with. In addition to what Frank recommended about setting stretch goals, maybe you could point out how much and in what specific ways his skills have improved since he's started the work he's in now (or work with him to identify these things).

      Hi,

I think if one just obey the religious rules and can gain The Almighty's trust and satisfication then he will enjoy success in each work of his life. This way will make him confident to do any work. It is proved. If I tell about myself, I will say that when i just obey religious rules i feel confident and i get succeded in all works. But when i am lazy to follow i become failed again. i hope this will help all.

      Thanks,
      Pioneer

I must agree. I have read volumes of self improvement books and they are all good books.

However I must say that the Bible and my faith built my confidence and have given me a higher purpose in life.

I think the real break through was when I learned the truth about forgiveness. When I was able to accept the Gift of foregiveness from Jesus, I learned to forgive myself. When I learned how to forgive myself, I began to grow and learned how to forgive others.

This is what has kept me going, fills me with inspiration and creativity and is the foundation of my success.

I have top notch loving children, a great and romantic love affair with my fiancee and two great businesses that consistently bless me in many ways.

I built a website called Daily Messages that you can subscribe to and get wonderful uplifting quotes every day that I also find uplifting as I begin each day.

Love is the true force that makes all of this possible.

For building confidence I like anything by Tony Robbins. For motivation to do work, Zig Ziglar and Jim Rohn are good too.

Be Positive, even if you don't feel positive. Avoid self-pity, or the pity and sympathy of others. Never allow others to make you feel inferior--they can only do so if you let them. If you continue to loathe and belittle yourself, others are going to do and believe likewise. Instead, speak positively about yourself, about your future, and about your progress. Do not be afraid to project your strengths and qualities to others. By doing so, you reinforce those ideas in your mind and encourage your growth in a positive direction.

I love what you write sista. Be Positive is quite necessary to be successful in the life. And for me, be positive, not only mean, think positively but also, do things in positive way, with a positive attitude.

Self confidence is the difference between feeling unstoppable and feeling scared out of your wits. Your perception of yourself has an enormous impact on how others perceive you. Perception is reality -- the more self confidence you have, the more likely it is you'll succeed.

Self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet so many people struggle to find it. Sadly, this can be a vicious circle: People who lack self-confidence can find it difficult to become successful.

Identify your successes. Everyone is good at something, so discover the things at which you excel, then focus on your talents. Give yourself permission to take pride in them. Give yourself credit for your successes. Inferiority is a state of mind in which you've declared yourself a victim. Do not allow yourself to be victimized. Express yourself, whether it's through art, music, writing, etc. Find something you enjoy. Everyone is born with talents and strengths. You can develop and excel in yours. If it's difficult to name two or three things you have some ability in or just plain love to do, think about things others do that you would like to do too and take some lessons or join an enthusiasts club. When you're following your passion, not only will it have a therapeutic effect, but you'll feel unique and accomplished, all of which can help build your self confidence. Plus, adding a variety of interests to your life will not only make you more confident, but it will increase your chances of meeting compatible friends!

I'd like to suggest as his teacher to
push him outside of his comfort zone
      where he'll achieve a result.

I agree with a lot of the books the
community has shared. For me it's
doing that thing that scares me
      and reaping the rewards.

      Self-confidence is achieved when
      one challenges themselves through
      action.

      Much success with your student!

      Have an awesome week,
      CF-

Well, I would recommend you to check video called The Secret.
Several great creative minds are exposing techniques which could highly motivate every person and wake inner potential within us.
Besides proven motivational manager speeches there are many quotes of historical persons, all together mixed in very impressive compilation.
    Highly recommended.

  • What I'm about to share with you has taken me over 1 year
of searching for the secret to Self-Confidence...

Honestly, after that 1 year, I stopped searching but obviously
    my subconscious mind did not.

But before I share this with you, I want to share with you
how I got to this understanding.

I was a huge Tony Robbins proponent before I turned 20 years
old because this guy changed my life (and I got to shake his
hand just a month ago at Singapore's UPW - that's besides
    the point)
but then I discovered a whole new world when
I watched the movie The Secret.

I started reading the "Law of Attraction books" like
the Science of Getting Rich, The Master Key Sytem etc
and I began working on myself with these principles.

One day, as I was going about my work on AskSaiful.com,
someone asked me how I was so confident in myself.

Words immediately started coming out of my mouth
and I was sure it was from my subconscious mind because
I had never thought about this prior to being asked.

    I said...

"Ironically, the secret to self-confidence is not to be confident
in yourself but in The Universe, God or whatever you want to
    call it.

You see, I have devoted my life to a higher purpose where
I serve the Universe to create fuller expression and expansion
    in people's lives.

It's a mandate given to me and I've received so much
Inspiration that has helped me write books that connects
with people and helps them in their lives.

Whenever I'm stuck on a problem, I meditate and Inspiration
    hits.

I believe I'm just a vessel through which The Universe is helping
others to live their best lives.

Therefore, the secret to self-confidence is not to be confident
in yourself because that's EGO talking.

The secret is to trust in The Universe and that It will help you
in your higher purpose when you need it."

This has helped me sooooo much and hence it's in my signature line.

    Tony Robbins...Check (very good stuff)

Think and Grow Rich...(great for planning your world domination

However, a rogue book that always seems to fly under the rader (yet the above are actually influenced by) is The Science of Getting Rich Rich by Wallace Wattles

The best thing you can say to your student if you wish to do him/her justice is ask them whom they perceive as there ultimate role model...

Once they have determined that, simply study that person (or persons) and walk in their foot steps.

Now, should you be their model of success and they wish to do as you do, simply show them the pathway.

I cannot properly quote from whom it comes, but "success leaves footprints" (Quit trying to reinvent the wheel and use a proven plan!!)

I can't imagine anyone on this forum who isn't somewhere in their subconcious mind "following footsteps"...otherwise, why would we be reading all these posts and putting to practice what we discover?

Kinda Garbled, But i Think You Get the Gist of It....

    Piece,

    Chris
