Why Are You Trying to Kill the Golden Goose with Silver Bullets - Neither Exists

In which century do we live?
The 21st - right?

Why do people still behave as if nymphs, dragons, and gnomes are running around everywhere? Why is it so hard for people to understand the only way to be successful is to put in the work?

That's it.

There is no golden goose that just starts to shit out golden eggs one day.

There is no silver bullet that'll kill all your business and financial problems.

The closest things we have to that are:

1. A solid product/service that other people want.
2. A way to reach those people so the cost of acquisition is less than what you'll make in profits.
3. The discipline to keep at it when everything goes south - it will.

Look. you have to add value. You don't start yesterday and land a $10,000/m client. Start with a $500 a month client. Hone your skills. then increase your rate.

You don't start by selling $10,000 products. You start by making a twenty dollar sale. You move on to $47, then $100, and so on and so forth.

Unfortunately, there's no shortcut.

All the information you'll ever need is here on Warrior Forum or the wider web.

Most people are content to absorb it and never use it. If that's you then fine. I know there are a few people who'll read this post and a light bulb will go off in their head.

A fire will be lit because they know they need to make a plan, take action, assess the results and do it all over again until kingdom ******* come.

Those are the people who're featured in Forbes.
Those are the people you look up to.
Those are the people who make a difference in this world.

My question to you:

Are you looking for silver bullets to kill your golden goose?

    Loving this post Daniel.

    the post is real good

now where the real hard work is ..is putting in the time to improve your skills .. so you fo from providing 500$ in value to 1000$ to 2000$ and so on .. and with every step up you need to get the new clients who will pay

or constantly updating your product to sell it at a higher price ..

    hehe

as far as killing the golden goose with any kind of bullets ..it will probably die of fright after i miss it 30 times

Although true, those statements fall on deaf ears. All information is sold as either the silver bullet or the golden goose. And all information is read with the reader thinking it's going to be the silver bullet.

And every struggling internet marketer (or any struggling marketer) is still looking for the silver bullet....the Secret.

Otherwise, they wouldn't still be living in their parent's basement.

One of the things that sickens me about being a minor Guru, is that I have to position the information I sell as the silver bullet...or it simply won't sell.

If I say "Follow this advice, study for three hours a day for ten years, work every day for several hours, start really small and re-invest in your business, and in ten years you'll be making a great living"......nobody will buy it.

The audience wants an effortless immediate secret to making tons of money that doesn't require any actual learning. That's the reality of the business.

I can't sell results, because almost nobody will do the work to get the results. So I have to settle for selling Hope.

I'm wondering how we can open the conversation up so more reality is injected along with the hope.

That's a great thought. It has to start with educating people. Unfortunately, many of the dreamers (probably most of them) won't listen until they've been burned a few times. Not as long as someone is willing to stroke their dreams with grand visions and soft promises.

It can be done, though. I've built a loyal following by being real with people. I've probably sacrificed some sales along the way, but gained repeat customers in the process.

putting off full adulthood and staying in the parents home has it's perks and it's drawback if someone feels they are stuck in that situation. then all they have is the dreams and the Video games and the unlimited free adult content .

If they are not your customers don't worry about them.. that's the parents they live with job and they screwed that up already . those same parent will probably get negative on any venture the adult children try anyway . eventual the only option is they leave and figure out how to unscrew all the screwing up in their heads ..Which is a brutal process . I Know from experience .. as i am still going through that process .

I am kind of an a hole though ..so when i build what up my business and i am going to go through the process prom pust homelessness to building the business documenting it online.. and i can point at these dreamers and say.. "i was you ..in fact i was probably far more hopeless than you and i have found my way out.. now please tell me why i am better than you.. list or tell me why you can't "

          Hehe

you have one of the most refined abilities to communicate with the written word on this forum ..the problem with the guru space and i paid the price for buying to much of the hope. is that the hope being sold is virtually unattainable.. it is not going from the parents basement to an apartment.. it only focusing on how to go from the parents basement to balling in a mansion and retired in a few years ..

And the real vile poison Is that if you are not looking for that you thinking to small and should just get a 9-5 ..there is only one guru online that i have found who talks about the value of starting out building a side business making a 1000 a month and building from their untill it replaces your 9-5 .

It is probably easier now than it ever been to start a small business only really mean to pay for an apartment and minor expenses.. that gets a person out of the basement.. but i t seem like one has to be a heretic of Guruism to teach that .

My view Changed When i moved to Vegas almost 2 years ago.. ended up buying a allen from hangover costume from Hangover Costume for 300 Dollars and supporting myself for well over a year until the rules change on the strip to put as many street performers out of business as possible ..

Now that i have seen what i saw in Vegas.. and i see many business owners that draw like 40k salaries but expense much of their living expenses to their business legally .. and use profits from the business to buy assets ..

that person in their parents basement is making anywhere from nothing to $30,000 Usd a year ..I know where i ended up follwing the guru bs to long..

The problem is...that's what people are buying. If you are going to fantasize, why fantasize small? And your point about "in a mansion and retired in a few years" is key. Most people are buying the end result of their fantasy....which is being retired. Very few people fantasize about the struggle...the work involved. The truth is, it's easier to sell big dreams than smaller realistic dreams. I wish none of this were true. But the real Gurus...that are genuinely wealthy aren't teaching you the real way they made their money, because nobody would pay for that course.

And the real vile poison Is that if you are not looking for that you thinking to small and should just get a 9-5 ..there is only one guru online that i have found who talks about the value of starting out building a side business making a 1000 a month and building from their until it replaces your 9-5 .

And that's where we fall into the "Your thinking is the problem" trap. Even the most successful businesses required initial work that far outstripped the rewards. Meaning that it took time before any profit was made at all.

A friend of mine was complaining about his business. He said "It seems like I take three steps forward and two steps back". And I said "That's how every business operates. I would love to make three dollars for every two I invest in my business"

It is probably easier now than it ever been to start a small business only really mean to pay for an apartment and minor expenses.. that gets a person out of the basement.. but i t seem like one has to be a heretic of Guruism to teach that .
It's not that you would be a heretic. It's that it would be very hard to sell that information.

It would be hard as hell.
"Work your ass of for six months and earn $1000/month

          Or

Get my step by step system and live the laptop lifestyle.

We sell what the market wants to buy. Not the other way around.

well i remember the laptop lifestyle..i think it was mainly about selling or creating info course about how to money with online business ..or on becoming an affiliate marketer to sell the laptop lifestyle course you just bought

because i study digital marketing and not information marketing ..or marketing to sell information .. i am an entertainer and a bit of a character myself i'm just being to much a puss to actually start building something online around it .. i think i am just going to do a online reality series from homeless to millionaire ..one i fine a way to get back in an apartment .

I have the goal set for 3 years ..with all the free information out there ..just find a very entertaining way to present it in front of a camera ..i think it will be a good 6 months to a year before i nail that with quality .. then build the audience year two and gradually market different products to them ..or also get patreon and gofundme donations .

I just a matter of getting inside before i risk freezing to death in a month ..

Look. you have to add value. You don't start yesterday and land a $10,000/m client. Start with a $500 a month client. Hone your skills. then increase your rate. You don't start by selling $10,000 products. You start by making a twenty dollar sale. You move on to $47, then $100, and so on and so forth.

The only problem with the above is that if you're not careful you can lock yourself in a state where you don't feel comfortable asking for higher sums of money. If you start out and get a $500 a month client, then you might feel intimidated or unworthy to ask for $10.000. You can create a psychological prison for yourself in this regard. So caution has to be urged here. You also have to have an idea of what kind of value you would bring to warrant asking for higher sums of money as to justify being paid so much. One more danger is attracting customers who only are willing to pay the lower price. All this has to be factored in. I know where your coming from though.

The interesting thing as i have thought about this .. is the so callled bsement dwellers ..me formally being in that crowd ..their really not looking to get rich ..they want in many cases to get away from crappy jobs.. have good gaming rig with a high speed connection . get a place to live on their own and have a chance to be with pretty girls .. like they see in all those videos they watch when not playing games .

And if you can show them how to get the girls without having to first get rich..you will have someone who will do the work .. but then you dig into these products and it stop playing games , stop watching those other videos and lock yourself in your room trying to build an internet business ..

so they will buy the 29- 59 dollar product .. or read the sales letter..then not open the product for fear it will destroy the dream..untill the next time the get an endorphin rush buying another product .

The Usa and the economy of this country runs on consumer percheses like this ..so i thing instead of selling information just view it as another consumer product .. but hey ..

This has been a great thread hope it goes on
