    Ahh! Becoming easily swayed!

You have to have a strong character to make sound decisions. You might have to act tricky to get out of it. Try doing it while being kind to the one who ran their fingers across your palm. That is a real challenge!

You have to have a full time job, to pull off not being easily swayed.

It doesn't seem unethical to me it's merely mastering body language and optimizing persuasion skills.

Claude uses a similar technique but his motivations are far more questionable

What is The Handshake Interrupt? Well essentially you begin shaking a Person's hand however then subtly interrupt their conditioned "pattern" by running your fingers across their palms that briefly puts them into a "suggestable" state. The best example would be this video from Derren Brown. (Pay close attention and you will see him do the the Handshake Interrupt.) He does it immediately by breaking the pattern and then places Simon's hand on the table. (And then deploys his "routine.")

Clever stuff. However very, very manipulative. And (IMO) completely unethical.

The person this is being used on is more than likely to respond in a different manner, ie by delivering the perpetrator a good, sharp, swift, smack upside the perpetrator's head.

Yet - even knowing all threads are 'moderated' you thought it important enough to post it more than once trying to get it 'approved' as you've done with other threads.

Then you decide the thread is worthless after all...maybe try for 'more think, less do'?

I found the 'idea' creepy - if someone did that to me I'd likely slap him either verbally or physically...or maybe both.

No good point. Thanks Kay. I'll keep that in mind next time.

watching the video.. honestly that's not a handshake technique..it is more a rapid hypnosis situation and unless you know the hypnosis part and can pull it off ..it is not something you would use without a dozen other interpersonal skills and one person with the time to use it on..

hypnosis , magic trick .. making sure everything worked while it was being taped .

It is like the so called advanced Ai robot sophia ..works great on stage in events that are planned out and scripted ..

i have seen variations of this over time ..but i was not to outgoing until two years ago..and from my high functioning autism did not like contact with other people..total prefer knuckle to knuckle over a handshake.

plus when dealing with online marketing it is hard to use face to face manipulation tactics .
