Is Your Mind Getting in the Way of Your Success

Ok, we have all heard of Lottery players blowing it all and ending up worse off, but from what l read today, if our dominant thought pattern is fixed, regardless of if our lives are good or not, we will revert back to that dominant level of existence.

So if you have spend most of your life working for a boss, and win the lottery you will revert back to that state given enough time, or very likely be unemployed and looking for the same job you had before.

PS And a thanks to the FL Mods for nominating this thread as the "best discussion on the Warrior Forum" and for putting it on the front page or feed.

A couple of points. Good stuff. REAL researcher. NO B.S. I got her book when it first came out in 2007. The book itself is a more thorough research of a concept made popular by Maxwell Maltz in his work, PSYCHO-CYBERNETICS.

But what I want to point out is...how she followed the PATH to leveraging a book, into a great money making funnel. Her site, mindsetworks dot com has this history.
    https://www.mindsetworks.com/about-us/our-history

When you read the history, you can glean ideas. About,

HOW to set up your back-ends, CREATE ancillary properties, expand markets and build a high INCOME, high happiness business around your work. At Amazon, you see people also bought work by SETH GODIN. And as you look at what people also buy, you'll play the game of going down the rabbit hole.

You'll see Ryan Holiday, Gary Vaynerchuck, etc., etc.

See, a book can lead to a life time of business activity. IF you have a book that gets read.

I want to suggest a book to this sub-forum. We see a lot of fluff, and regurgitated positive spinning of the wheels here, but here is a practical and useful work, by a Warrior (now deceased), Jim Straw, who has written one of the best MIND POWER books out there. His book is:

MUSTARD SEEDS, SHOVELS & MOUNTAINS. How to Succeed Using Your PHYSIO-PSYCHIC POWER.

As an affiliate marketer, Jim went from zero to over 6 figures a month, in less than a year with his online business.

He was the real deal, also. It is nice to see this section with a few people with a foot in reality too.

    Thanks for post.

Welcome Gordon, and nice to have a positive reply; l know that he started at age 9 and made a ton, so as you are saying he is worth listening to.

These days with the planet going through its stages of growth, 20+ year olds gaining tremendous success, when most spend a large part of their lives getting no-where, is becoming more prevalent.

And unfortunately the occurrence of some beating up these teenagers with all of the breaks is also occurring.

This subject also covers setting up brick walls in our minds to protect ourselves from information that unsettles our worldview.

Or all facts are filtered through our emotions, so they become unfacts or bad facts, etc, as a firewall against any hard evidence that threatens our viewpoint.

The Wright Brothers fly a plane, some still don't believe, but they have to eventually, same with walking on the moon, etc.

i would say that when a world changing paragrim shift occurs, forums across the planet will go quiet. Except the ones that put facts first, l expect that they will be pretty outspoken, lol.

for football players to make their millions .. the stands have to be full and millions have to watch from home ..same with any major sport..or music videos ..best selling writers ..it call tremendous .. or grate or oustanding .. because so few manage it..

now then how many who earn millions a year or large somes from profession.. lose it all after they stop earning that ..

the mindset for building long term wealth ..is way different for earning high amounts of money ..most are only looking at high income earners . big hits

as for the facrs thing.. people see the same set of facts differently all the time ..an most highly inteligent people search for facts that support their worldview and discard facts that do not support their worldview .

the mindsets i am more interested in ..arethe long term mindset verse the short term mindset.. the growth mindset falls more in to those who have the long term mindset and the fixed mindset fall in to those with short term thinking .

most people with million dollar plus net worth save and in vest 15-20 percent of their income for at least 20 years ..and build the skills to grow and manage the money after or while they build the skills to earn more ..

yet most people hink millions are made in short term bursts .. writing a best seller ..or putting out a hit song.. winning the lottery , inheriting it..suing some rich person or company..hitting the jackpot on a slot machine in las vegas ..

and there are many people with mindsets fixxed on the past ..thinking there is nothing the can do now and there was some much better time usually when they where children or before they where born..where it was so much better than now ..or that there opportunity was missed .. because one parent wouldn't let them sing in the show..or they didn't get the main role in the high school play .. or they had a mean teacher in school who rtold them they sucked and would never amount to anything because they couldn't grasp the correct use of there ..

the reason for their failure in their mindset is some or sever anchors in their past ..verse a grpwth mindset that accepts that failures in the past where results of skills that can be learned ..and ahem that it's better to compete where you will get into the top half or top ten percent ..than plunge into a competician where you are in the bottom half

"most people" - "many people" - 'their failure' - 'their mindset'

The most interesting point on the page linked in the OP is this:

Recognize that you have a choice.

What others do is their choice - their problem - their reaction.

Your life is a composite of your own choices - not the choices of your family or friends or strangers or 'people' - YOURS. It's not a word exercise - or a brainstorming session - it's the only life you have and the quality of it is up to you. It's a harsh reality - and often not comfortable to admit.

It's the most difficult thing to accept - that where you are is a result of the choices you have made. That where you will be 5 years from now will be a direct result of choices you are making now.

you ae right and the cool thing about the world we live in today .. is there is so much data about the choice a person is making now and have been making ..you can put it into powerful computers and based off of what most people do who do the same things a preson is doing .. predict about where they will be in 5 years .. well it more like a year or two at this point but can bee drawn out to 5 ..

you do not have to have written goal or a vision .. there is a place the choice you are making will get you in the future.. the choice once you know then turns out to be do i really want to go there .

you can take a 30 dna test now that will tell you the likelyhood you will develop certain diseases as you get older .. you can chose to not know .. or you can chose to know and see it as fate .. or you can start making choices know with changes in diet exercise .. sleep patterns .. environmental factors .

do you learn how to use the data being collected now about you.. to make better choices.. or try to hide from it and let companies put adds in front of you to get you to make choices more for their benefit than yours ..

now i use the term most people a lot .. because i detest the word average or normal.. I've yet to meet any one with fractions of a child .. as the average woman on this planet has 2.5 children..and i don't going into percentages of people eccept in top income..because ahem most people have no idea how percentages work

If there were such thing as overnight success, surely there will be overnight poverty. Success is a process and to anyone who were handed success right off the bat without the proper mindset will still lose it all.

I mean, there's a lot of crap our parents and environment give us when we're kids that's hard to get past.

But people DO get past it. Not many, but it's possible.

So what makes the difference for these people?

    I think it's a few things:

    - Self Awareness: They know they have to overcome some crap to get where they want to go.
    - Persistence: They spot the things that trigger old behaviour and patterns, and learn to ignore or reverse their effects.
    - Forgiveness: They learn to forgive themselves, and others, for smaller things much more easily.
    - Gratitude: They don't take ANYTHING for granted. They know it's possible to lose everything at any moment, and it makes them incredibly thankful. It also makes them want to keep working to keep being grateful.

I know none of this is backed by anything beyond my own opinion. But it makes sense to me, and I've noticed how those things have changed my life for the better too.

Not sure that l believe in the "losing it all idea" not unless l take out a second mortgage and go to a high roller casino and put it all on black, and then ram my four wheel drive car through their front door, since l am delighted with the outcome.

yes information can be modified or burried.. and you can ignore the wealth of new information being made available ..that can be used to change your life for the better today ..in the push to get the hidden or buried unaltered information ..

or worse you can discount the value of what is being made available.. having been led to believe the supposedly hidden or alterd information.. is far more important than it may actually be

Armm, true to a point, but usually hidden information gives a grounding to new information.

Especially when new is doubtful and old is more solid, hence buried.

The best way to keep a secret that is hard to keep, is to tell everyone, but alter some of it.

Some will filter it through their emotions and believe in anything remotely plausible, but usually sounding insane to individuals who rely on evidence only.

oh people who rely on only the evidence.. they are like the fully self made person who has everything they have based on only their virtues and choices.. the easter bunny, santa cloths .. the people who actually buy low and sell high most of the time ..

in other words fantasy .. no one ..not one living human believe what they belive solely on the evidence available.. even the smartest people cherry pick the evidence they want to believe and toss out evidence that goes against their beliefs..

the more evidence you show a real living human being that they are wrong the more they will dig in and defend their believe even with all the facts against them .

If people financial position and heal depends on their current beliefs system.. no amount of facts will change the beliefs of that person and even if you do.. they will still earn their living ..

so if you believe all it takes is educating people with the facts to get them to believe what you believe.. then you are mistaken.. if you have no idea why people believe what they believe ..or make the choice they make.. you can get people to play along short term.. but long term they will revert back .ahem.. those are the facts

Until you believe you are capable of amazing things, you won't have success. You need to believe in yourself and the power you need to create outstanding things, you really need to tell it to yourself till you fully believe in it.

Nice statement, but not quite right.

You can't keep going to the Roulette table with a "I Am A Wealth Magnet" affirmation, since the laws of probability or the house will always come out on top.

The Stock Market and cards, l believe can puts the odd's in your favour, but cards requires, (i read about it) mundane repetitive actions and no emotions.

And the Stock Market requires short gain options with predictable outcomes.

Of course it is impossible to win 100% of the time with pattern analysis and company research, but most successful traders get over the 70% mark with this method.

A handful can achieve much better results than that, but l guess that is getting into magic, lol.

Walls in your mind can crumble and come tumbling down, (yeah, l know) if someone takes action, and see's results that affirm that they are right.

The magic happens, when someone is open to a possibility that most are not, and takes action.

The ones with walls up, rely on established laws and also rely on mass beliefs.

The same beliefs that keep most in a rut and keep wealth at a distance.

I think your mind gets in the middle over a great many, things.

I threw myself a "convincer" that I live in an ideal reality only limited by my imagination.

It's a mental exercise actually, tried it for two days and the results are fantastic.

It is so simple to see when you are present, in the moment; you cannot get over what is still in you.

Meaning if you cling to some energy aka dominant thought-feeling, you see the world through the prism of that energy. No way to get over it until you feel the feeling and get out of the mind and into the heart.

Monkey mind is all over the place, judging, doubting, skeptical, wild, excited....but the heart is love, calm, at peace, all-knowing....and it only promotes increasing success and expansion. Never anything else other than harmony and growth and freedom and fun and success.

Cool thread. Also note; the next person labeling my loving advice as woo-woo should study this thread carefully LOL. If you see the world through skeptical eyes or you resist something, goodness knows you have some serious stuff to clear. Got some sh*tty programming to feel and release. I am doing free coaching/clearing for folks but WHOOSSH over their heads LOL.

Of course, you have to question the mind before reaching conclusions.

Sometimes you have to be diametrically different than your usual self,
reject many notions and cherry-pick the thoughts that matter the most.
