I'd rather die than settle for average

Nice one Jonathan, and sure people can live the life others do, or not.

For me the thought of working in a crap job til l am six feet under, doesn't really motivate me.

And sure your friends will disappear and call you crazy, while your family will call you nuts, but nothing new there, and believe me it is a common occurrence.

And sure being online can produce some friendships, and make some enemies, but that is ok, it is easy to read between the lines, and they usually tend to hang themselves in the end.

I have been online for 10 years, and am starting to get there now, unfortunately still learning, but showing good results.

Don't give up the good fight.

quick question .. what is average ?

i don't believe there is an average or an average person ..have you ever met a woman with the fraction of a child ..

There are thing most people do in different areas ..that get a certain range of results.. and if you do not want the results that most people get.. go look at what the people who at one point where kind of like you but now have a part of their life the way you want it .. and learn how they actually did it ..

so so that means if you are not going to be a famous athlete or movie star .. or elon musk or bill gates .. or jeff bezos ..don't compare what you have to what they do ..

life can be long or can end suddenly .. the hardest part is actually figuring what you really want..because it is so much easier to get .. than you think ..

Most people do not have big dreams for their life. They are more often stuck in the reality of day to day life. Building a dream life requires a great deal of passion and commitment to move forward.

I'm not religious but amen.


edit: I see some negative backlash on this thread. I am not surprised, it's a very big forum and most people do not really have the entrepreneurial chops or the will to work on your dreams 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. I truly believe in the concept of average people and it's 100% okay being average, nothing bad about it. But you can't achieve extraordinary results by living an average life. Average folks will get offended by it and get defensive and that's completely all right. You do you.

we all live our own realities and if it means not compromising then go for it
and you will achieve extraordinary results

I read something recently that suggested we're wired that way. So yeah, it'll be like that for you forever because that's who you are. Except it won't be a never-ending hustle because at some point your intent, focus, ambition, life purpose, meaning, desire, whatever you want to call it, will probably change. At some point "what else must I do, what else do I need, what else has to be done?" may become the question for you. That may or may not require the same hustle but it will be part of who you are. And from what I've heard, people like that leave this world with things yet to do. So, sounds like we have to accept in one way or another this never ends, doesn't it?

I've been online hustling and bustling over 10 years trying to make it happen.

OMG. Consistency is the KEY
It took a real long time before I truly understood how to be consistent and manage time.

It's lonely at the top and on the way up too.

It's not easy, I'm just now getting the hang of it. One thing for sure, It definitely won't work, if you don't work at it, every single day!

Wow, it feels ao good to know that there are actually other Crazy Ones out there.

And i used to think only I was crazy.

Shunned and mocked by my closest friends for trying network marketing at an age when my friends were busy partying (they actually thought they were thinking good for me and helping me by mocking me and trying to stop me.. :-D), then went on to open my restaurant, from there to set up my own kitchen appliances C&F business, and finally from there to starting my own digital marketing business.

The last 7 years have been exciting as well as challenging. But one thing i surely say that "Never had I had so much fun that knowing that I am chasing my dreams."

There is no feeling better than that and nothing satisfies my heart more than this..

I feel alive and awesome when I'm doing that and so dead when people want me to be average and settle for a mediocre life..

Ohhh I have been pouring my heart out.. But it feels so good to bring everything out when you know that people will understand.. :-D :-D

Most people seem perfectly fine with mediocrity. I think we (those in the IM world) seek the good life and that requires a different level of thinking.

We refuse to settle for anything less than the best life we can live.

Those types of people don't want to get out of their comfort zones. They like their comfort zone so much that they are afraid to step out of it to live the life they wanted. And when they are old they have lots of regrets about it. History then repeats itself. Countless people have had their dreams taken away when they learned to settle for less.

That's very true Jonathan, average life sucks,this is exactly what I'm presently going through also. I'll never give up on my life's dream.I just hope all of us will have that zeal to push on harder. Great and insightful post.

I was a miserable failure until one rainy night, I used hypnosis.

Heard a lot about this quote, but believe me you, this is something we should actually focus on. We have just one life. So are we made to spend it like average or are we gonna get it hard and smart to have a king size life. I think its completely our choice on what we gonna rely on.

For me, there is no life for average, either be rich or die poor. One more thing, a very well spoken quote by Bill Gates, "If you are born Poor its not your mistake, but if you die poor its your mistake".

If you must put others (most people, average people, etc) down in order to feel important....are you truly 'successful' in your own mind? Something to think about.

OMG... That's inspiring. And I take it like this, As long as you love what you do, you are successful. target is important but you must love the process of achieving the target, not the target itself. We all know, once you achieve your target, you will create a new target and that is life... So loving the process of achieving the target is most important..

Seems Jonathan so many folks are scared being a wee bit uncomfortable here and there, let alone doing things that genuinely terrify them. I love following my fun more than anything but that fun pulls me into some fears too. Some deep fears. But going into my fears regularly helped me feel so much clearer, confident and at peace. I love working and living from that peaceful vibe because all flows to me much more easily, the more allow myself to be nudged into my fears.

Guys; do something a little scary today, then tomorrow, and eventually you'll cultivate the habit of being highly comfortable with being uncomfortable. Awesome way to live your dreams.

Hell Yeah, Jonathan, I'm with you on that. Why settle for a life of mediocrity when you can go for it and live the life of your dreams. Most people are making the choice to just settle for going the Just Over Broke everyday and collect a paycheck, be told when they can take vacation, when they can see their family, and be limited in how much they can achieve in life.
Even if you're working a job now that doesn't mean you can't start a business part-time and work toward your goals and dreams.
In my experience most people want to be entertained all of the time and will settle for whatever makes them comfortable.
There's nothing wrong with having a certain level of comfort but being too comfortable is dangerous in my opinion. Being to comfortable causes you to stop dreaming and striving.
When I was in bootcamp I remember the drill instructor shouting "Never Eat till you're Full" "Always Stay Hungry".
The best security you can have in life in my opinion is the ability to create health, wealth, and abundance without having to depend on jobs, pensions, programs, whatever.
None of these this is as stable as we think and in the coming years we will really see how unstable these things are.
So Jonathan or anyone else in the forum who is dealing with friends or family who are calling you crazy, telling you it can't work, stop, or anything else negative, I say, congratulations on not following the crowd over the cliff of mediocrity and live your life the way you choose.

Hi Jonathan, I am very impressed by your extraordinary thoughts. I am also a man with the same mentality and the only fear which motivate me to do hard work as much as I can, is the fear of being average.

If it weren't for cosmic master manifestation I'd probably still be a living dead.

Seriously...getting programmed was single handedly the best thing I did in my life.

Otherwise I'd be lost because the mind needs directives to be driven.

Am I driven? Yes, my batteries are fully charged and I enjoy every minute out of it.

Nope, sometimes being an average works better than those who really excel. It's kindda stressful sometimes when you're place at the limelight.
