I'd rather die than settle for average

Stop it.

Take Saturdays off.

I heard this over and again from my friends and mom in the last couple of months.

My entire life people called me crazy, weirdo, or just strange.

I never give up no matter how hard or painful it gets.

I'm like Spiderman
(he died in the last Avengers movie, I know)

The "problem": this attitude never fits into today's society.

People just wanna chill and smoke weed, spend their money on vacations every 3 months, and then complain about their life...

Don't get me wrong- it's a free world and it's their right to do so.

Looking back, I now realize that I'm probably going to live the rest of my life like that.

A never-ending hustle to achieve what I want (while taking the time to rest of course)

The other option is to be consumed by mediocrity and end up depressed.

So do you really have a choice here?

You've got to walk your own path, no matter what.

It's probably going to get a bit lonely or at least not that easy.

But I'd rather work my ass off all week and make my dreams come true, than settling for an average kind of life.

How does your dream-life looks like?

Nice one Jonathan, and sure people can live the life others do, or not.

For me the thought of working in a crap job til l am six feet under, doesn't really motivate me.

And sure your friends will disappear and call you crazy, while your family will call you nuts, but nothing new there, and believe me it is a common occurrence.

And sure being online can produce some friendships, and make some enemies, but that is ok, it is easy to read between the lines, and they usually tend to hang themselves in the end.

I have been online for 10 years, and am starting to get there now, unfortunately still learning, but showing good results.

Don't give up the good fight.

quick question .. what is average ?

i don't believe there is an average or an average person ..have you ever met a woman with the fraction of a child ..

There are thing most people do in different areas ..that get a certain range of results.. and if you do not want the results that most people get.. go look at what the people who at one point where kind of like you but now have a part of their life the way you want it .. and learn how they actually did it ..

so so that means if you are not going to be a famous athlete or movie star .. or elon musk or bill gates .. or jeff bezos ..don't compare what you have to what they do ..

life can be long or can end suddenly .. the hardest part is actually figuring what you really want..because it is so much easier to get .. than you think ..

      Hi Odahh

      Thanks for your comment

I never meant that there are "average" people out there

Maybe the title of this post should have been "I'd rather die than compromise"

And that's what I really mean- Staying true to yourself and accept the challenges life gives you, rather than turn away from them and settle for less

i understand .. the only one you can really compare yourself to in this world is who you where yesterday ..some days you have to cmpramise ..and others you don't really know what you want... do you risk trying something you might not like or do you play it safe abd try things you liked in the past .

people tend to try to play it safe to minimize bad experiences ..if you want a better life than most ..you have to also be willing to have more bad experiences than most.. taste new things that may be disgusting to find the new things that may be tasty beyond imagine

adding to this ..one of the main places you can start designing the way above average or exceptional life..is to take the idea of retirement out of your perspective for the future ..and study the idea or concept of skill stacking verse mastery ..and answer how long you can work like you are before you burn out ..

there is another concept you get from studying something like permaculture ..which revolves around building systems that require less input and physical effort over time but give more and more return over time ..

One of the secrets to a happy life is learning when and how to compromise in a given situation, without compromising your core-beliefs.

There's nothing worse than being totally intransigent in order to support your personal dogma.

Most people do not have big dreams for their life. They are more often stuck in the reality of day to day life. Building a dream life requires a great deal of passion and commitment to move forward.

edit: I see some negative backlash on this thread. I am not surprised, it's a very big forum and most people do not really have the entrepreneurial chops or the will to work on your dreams 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. I truly believe in the concept of average people and it's 100% okay being average, nothing bad about it. But you can't achieve extraordinary results by living an average life. Average folks will get offended by it and get defensive and that's completely all right. You do you.

we are on a planet with over 7.6 billion people .. and many different people from many different countries have posted in this thread ..it is easy to beat the average of those in your country ..and still be far behind those at the top or even the average in other countries or local areas ..

i believe most of the people do not have wealth and only maybe 10-20 percent have some kind of wealth ..and about 10 percent of the people on the planet with wealth have most of the wealth on the planet .. so i study what they do ..

I read something recently that suggested we're wired that way. So yeah, it'll be like that for you forever because that's who you are. Except it won't be a never-ending hustle because at some point your intent, focus, ambition, life purpose, meaning, desire, whatever you want to call it, will probably change. At some point "what else must I do, what else do I need, what else has to be done?" may become the question for you. That may or may not require the same hustle but it will be part of who you are. And from what I've heard, people like that leave this world with things yet to do. So, sounds like we have to accept in one way or another this never ends, doesn't it?

    Great Post!

To answer your question: "How does your dream-life looks like?"

    It looks like this:

    -Having a thriving business
    -Helping build thriving business
-Ever Growing and Developing a persopn
    -Building meaningful relationships

As far as being called weird, constantly hustling to success, and being focused....that is the story of my life. I think that is a great way to be...

I've been online hustling and bustling over 10 years trying to make it happen.

    OMG. Consistency is the KEY
It took a real long time before I truly understood how to be consistent and manage time.

It's lonely at the top and on the way up too.

It's not easy, I'm just now getting the hang of it. One thing for sure, It definitely won't work, if you don't work at it, every single day!

    I Refuse to Settle
I want everything out of life - I know I'm not supposed to say that, but it's true.

    "Remember, Life Any Forever"

My family thinks I'm a weirdo and I guess I am. It's super weird to see someone actively working towards their goals.

Wow, it feels ao good to know that there are actually other Crazy Ones out there.

And i used to think only I was crazy.

Shunned and mocked by my closest friends for trying network marketing at an age when my friends were busy partying (they actually thought they were thinking good for me and helping me by mocking me and trying to stop me.. :-D), then went on to open my restaurant, from there to set up my own kitchen appliances C&F business, and finally from there to starting my own digital marketing business.

The last 7 years have been exciting as well as challenging. But one thing i surely say that "Never had I had so much fun that knowing that I am chasing my dreams."

There is no feeling better than that and nothing satisfies my heart more than this..

I feel alive and awesome when I'm doing that and so dead when people want me to be average and settle for a mediocre life..

Ohhh I have been pouring my heart out.. But it feels so good to bring everything out when you know that people will understand.. :-D :-D

working jobs tend to at some point make me consider suicide ( that not an overstatement)..so it is a matter of living the life i can outs of a job .. making money from what ever legal method i can..and not giving someone else the power to essential decide when i sleep eat my meals can shop for food or take a rest day .. when my energy collapses .

Those types of people don't want to get out of their comfort zones. They like their comfort zone so much that they are afraid to step out of it to live the life they wanted. And when they are old they have lots of regrets about it. History then repeats itself. Countless people have had their dreams taken away when they learned to settle for less.

I was a miserable failure until one rainy night, I used hypnosis.

How can I possibly forget that spine chilling night, where I
was just about to transfigure into a page turning case study,
    of inglorious success.

The results kept piling up as long as I programmed my mind
and using visualization to imagine things coming my way.

And things started snowballing ever since. I know, in a
hard-pressed world, it's a tough call to tap into your
unfounded potential...opps slip past our nose and we
tend to forget about the true potential that lies within.

Mind programming sounds like mumbo jumbo, but it is real
and can change your life once you realize that you have
made a quantum leap ahead of the masses who burn the mid
night oil only dreaming about success.

With the proper mindset, success is just around the corner.

I won't say what you are doing won't work. But I will say it's not the only way to get where ever it is you think is satisfied with your accomplishments.

I look for some way to help someone else every day.

I look for some way to help myself every day.

I speak the truth to those around me as I see it.

I look at challenges as a game.

I've removed negative people and things from my surroundings.

Heard a lot about this quote, but believe me you, this is something we should actually focus on. We have just one life. So are we made to spend it like average or are we gonna get it hard and smart to have a king size life. I think its completely our choice on what we gonna rely on.

For me, there is no life for average, either be rich or die poor. One more thing, a very well spoken quote by Bill Gates, "If you are born Poor its not your mistake, but if you die poor its your mistake".

Seems Jonathan so many folks are scared being a wee bit uncomfortable here and there, let alone doing things that genuinely terrify them. I love following my fun more than anything but that fun pulls me into some fears too. Some deep fears. But going into my fears regularly helped me feel so much clearer, confident and at peace. I love working and living from that peaceful vibe because all flows to me much more easily, the more allow myself to be nudged into my fears.

Guys; do something a little scary today, then tomorrow, and eventually you'll cultivate the habit of being highly comfortable with being uncomfortable. Awesome way to live your dreams.

Yes, feathers are certainly being ruffled here, and l am certainly facing fear regularly, with some long held views being questioned, or overturned.

But face up to a new fear, and it goes away, and new horizons and possibilities open.

Evidence is in the eye of the beholder, and if you don't pick up the breadcrumbs you could one day find a loaf of bread.

Hell Yeah, Jonathan, I'm with you on that. Why settle for a life of mediocrity when you can go for it and live the life of your dreams. Most people are making the choice to just settle for going the Just Over Broke everyday and collect a paycheck, be told when they can take vacation, when they can see their family, and be limited in how much they can achieve in life.
Even if you're working a job now that doesn't mean you can't start a business part-time and work toward your goals and dreams.
In my experience most people want to be entertained all of the time and will settle for whatever makes them comfortable.
There's nothing wrong with having a certain level of comfort but being too comfortable is dangerous in my opinion. Being to comfortable causes you to stop dreaming and striving.
When I was in bootcamp I remember the drill instructor shouting "Never Eat till you're Full" "Always Stay Hungry".
The best security you can have in life in my opinion is the ability to create health, wealth, and abundance without having to depend on jobs, pensions, programs, whatever.
None of these this is as stable as we think and in the coming years we will really see how unstable these things are.
So Jonathan or anyone else in the forum who is dealing with friends or family who are calling you crazy, telling you it can't work, stop, or anything else negative, I say, congratulations on not following the crowd over the cliff of mediocrity and live your life the way you choose.

    Enjoy your outcome!

Leave the past behind and celebrate the day you gave in to a higher cognition.

I don't know what, "it" is, but zero resistance to me means an inability or unwillingness to fight for ones beliefs or ideals. When you're young it's easy to surrender your beliefs because what kind of experience can they possibly be built on? Most of them should be shit-canned and replaced with new ones as you learn from life's lessons.

After one spends a lifetime developing concepts, precepts, beliefs and methods that work for them, they certainly won't surrender them without a fight - nor, should they. At some point in life, you generally attain all of the benefits of "higher cognition" that you will ever need.

While it's true that you may never be too old to learn, there's a possibility that gained knowledge will be utterly worthless.

Using, my higher cognition has taught me that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :-)

Am I driven? Yes, my batteries are fully charged and I enjoy every minute out of it.
I knew Elmo Q. Suggins, at the time, the reigning cosmic master manifestor. A simple but brilliant scholar from two hollers down.

Elmo said, that if you don't use these things in your Cosmic Manifestation Chamber, you are either a fraud or an idiot who doesn't know better.

      One must have:

Candles (and matches or lighter or flint to light them.

Noise. Could be music, sounds of nature, white noise, or a low hum from a neaby fridge.

Smells, Some might call them aromas. Pine, berries, vanilla, or, if asking for a more sinister manifestation, the person smell of the target.

Water. Preferably a waterfalls. Or boiling water.

Touchstones. Could be amulets, talisman or totem. Maybe a charm or sigil.

Hard candy. Or mint. Something to taste. Sometimes an expensive chocolate or toffee.

I don't know who the current Master is, perhaps you can share a link with us. But Elmo Q. was a force of nature.

He said the list were representative of our senses. Taste, touch, smell, hearing, and sight. A candle floating in water, could serve as the sixth sense, where one gets in touch with the real cosmic UNIVERSAL Master.

If you lack any of these elements, then you really don't know much about manifestation.

      Do you?

      GordonJ

PS. Somewhere in my EQS notebook, Old Elmo gave me some exact chants for an exant connection to the Cosmos. I'll see if I can find them for you all.

Nope, sometimes being an average works better than those who really excel. It's kindda stressful sometimes when you're place at the limelight.

So much depends on how you succeed. If you follow your passion and face your fears, the journey to the top is sweet.
