Sometimes people tend to think that English is a language of "origin", and by that I mean that they give sense to words and meaning to words in the English language refering to them as the ones that were as if English was spoken in the time of the bible.
This notion is incorrect, and as such analizing words in their English meaning takes away the real escense of the word.

Most words have their origin in the Romantic Languages (greek, roman).

Gratitude is in English begin thankful.

When people explain that being grateful and feeling gratitude for things manifested they mean that one should have a sense of thankfulness.

This is part takes away a big escense of the word and its meaning.

Gratitude was born in the Romantic Languages, in Latin, "gratus- Thankful, pleasing" and "gratia- which means grace"

It is not far fetched to say then that Gratitude is to be thankful- yes, but it is also to "fall in grace" of the one who has done something to you, without you having to have paid for it "gratis- meaning free".

So Gratitude is to fall in grace of the one who has given you something for nothing.

Falling in grace is a sense of joy, a sense of awe and recognition.

To not be thankful, is then to fall out of grace.

As it is said in the book "The Science of Getting Rich" a lot of people who are doing the right things are deprived of the things they want because they lack gratitude.

To fall in grace with your creator, the universe, and acknowledge the favour being done to you by his infinite love makes it possible for you to be connected to your creator in high vibration.

The lack of this recognition disconnects you from this energy, and puts you back in the place you were.

This is all up to you.

This is why the Law of Gratitude is so important, it is recognizing that it is someone else who does the creation for you, it is recognizing that that someone else loves you, and in return you acknowledge the favor, and pay back with love.

The entire purpose of the world as we know it (according to myself) is to fall in love with our creator.

The jewish prayer says "and you will love God your God with all your heart and all your soul and everything that you are" and this will bring you blessings (there is a mention of the material kind)

I want to wish you to fall in grace, and fall in love of your creator, even though sometimes you think you are separate from him, or apart from him, know that he is always in you, you are not different or separate from him.

Again in "The Science of Getting Rich" this is the thinking substance that permeates all, and is in between all, and in the spaces of all.

Quoting Sai Baba "You are God, you are not different than God, All is God"

Gratitude! "The science of getting rich" is an excellent book. Very insightful. If you are unaware of this book, you can download it for free by going to google. Just type in the title and put "ebook" after it. It is about 60 pages long. Great stuff! My wife makes fun of me when it is a hot day in Arizona and I grab an ice cold water and I say, "Water is
good!" Just being grateful for what we have in our hands.

Sometimes we have get away from our computer and enjoy the day!

Just like one of the things that I saw in "The Secret". There was a guy who picked up a rock and called it his "Gratitude Rock". He kept it in his pocket and it reminded him to give thanks for the things that he had. He would grab it in the morning and put it in his pocket, remembering to say Thank You for the stuff in his life. He would also grab it in the evening when he emptied his pockets and remember again to say Thank You. It doesn't matter who you thank, just that you do it.

I think along with gratitude, one must practice being present. Stop focusing ahead for a moment and focus on the moment, smell the air, feel the temperature, etc... This can bring on a great feeling of relaxation and get you back on track in no time. I frequently practice this at the most random times, like riding an elevator, walking to my car, getting the mail, taking the first sip of morning coffee. Give it a try and be grateful for the moment.

              Gratitude is a wonderful thing.

Not only with money (I say thanks when I pick up pennies and nickels), but also with your loved ones, material items, etc.

My fiancee LOVES when I randomly tell her how thankful I am that I'm marrying her soon. It makes her feel absolutely wonderful.

              Why?

Because she never hears anything like that from anyone else. Ever.

And that's not b/c nobody loves her or anything like that, it's just that most people don't express their gratitude!

I also belief in the power of 'gratitude'. But when we are saying thank you to anything, don't just say it because we have to say, but it should comes from your heart. Saying it straight from heart with sincere...then the power of gratitude really works!

Being thankful in everything you do and everything you have, creates a positive aura and a happy disposition. People who are always thankful tend to be happier and more forgiving.

I have seen this from my officemates. When I started saying thank you to them after I asked for help for just a simple favor or task, they would reply, "anytime" or "no problem". Plus there was a smile on their faces. It also makes me happy

Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely check it out. I agree Gratitude is the way to success. I wake up every morning and speak out loud the things I'm grateful for. Since I started doing that life has been great. Stress free, fun and more money.

I learned some years ago, that instead of saying "I appreciate it" when speaking to a person who did me a favor, that when I began saying "I appreciate you" it made a completely different meaning to my message to them.

Oh, I just realized that I forgot something nice about languages.

In Spanish something free is said "Gratis" or "Gratuito" and Gratefulness is "Gratitud", to give someone a gift or a compliment is "Gratificar".

As you can see the words come from the same root, and again something can be derived from that.

Just thought to add that to the post.
