Which one is more appealing, Flipping the Iceberg or Amazing Secret?

I'm looking for suggestions on a workshop title about a systematic approach where participants will discover their real potential, success qualities and who they were designed to be.

I don't personally like either one - they both sound like 'designer' names that people thought up in a brainstorming session that went too far.

If you 'flip an iceberg' you have an upside down iceberg...doesn't make sense. "Amazing Secret" is too much like the same old 'secret' stuff of 'believe it and it will happen'.

I'd focus on descriptive titles - that reflect the inner you/real potential/ bring out success theme.

Reaching Potential - Finding the Amazing You
    The Success of YOU
    Finding Your Potential for Success

just off top of head but make the title mean something.

"Flipping the iceberg" is clever, but it doesn't mean anything. It has no appeal. It doesn't identify an audience. It doesn't convey a benefit.

    What does your audience want?
What are they going to be willing to pay to learn?

This has nothing to do with you...or what you find appealing. It's strictly what you audience wants.

If the title of your workshop is clever, that's nice. But it doesn't need to be. What title would sell the whole event, without any additional information? This should include a sub title that gives a huge promise.

May I make a suggestion based on tons of experience? Forget the title.
    First....

Figure out who you want to talk to...your audience.
Know...absolutely know..how to get a hold of these people, and how to get them together.
Find out what people are willing to pay to learn..what they want.

If you don't do these things first...you will fail.

    And then...
Write the program out in full.

During this process, an obvious title will present itself.

But trying to come up with a title before everything else is done? A waste of energy, because you'll absolutely change it a few times before you create this whole thing.

Of course, you are in the section where...if you just wish hard enough..and repeat aphorisms......everything will come true.

It reminds me of people that ask about the title of a book...(and it's something clever but meaningless). Do you know what it tells me? They haven't started writing the book. And they have no idea how to sell it. They are still in the "Imagine if I wrote a book and I became famous" mode.

I am highly disillusioned because I create my own reality. So for me, it's the Amazing Secret.

I mean it has to the the Amazing Secret and what not.

    Hypernoesis galore.

Think simple and to the point Cris.

Like sit in a quiet room and think about this link:

"participants will discover their real potential, success qualities and who they were designed to be"

Create a title clearly matching the benefits: discovering your potential, discovering your success qualities, and who you were designed to be.

No need to be fancy, witty or clever. Simple wins because folks understand simple easily buddy

blah this is a grumpy rant .. with a title

Your potential doesn't matter and that the amazing secret ...

100 years ago the average size of a wheat farm was 150 oe so acres and produced like 15 bushels per acre ..today farms get up to or average 500- 3500 acres and one farmer can do that farm on several fer hundred acre plots .. and have a full time job off the farm .. and produce 60 bushels per acre ..

it not because we have farmers who have been bred to be super super human with 1000 time more personal potential than farmers 100 years ago .. better crops , tractor , harvestors .. herbeside , fertilizers , pesticides.. blah blah blah ..

you want a goot title.. THe secret to getting others to do the hard work ..

Lol. If People put in all the work, they could eventually work that amount a week. (I'm not sure they'd want to depending what they do with their time ...) However it certainly is possible. And, or course, it's a good title for a book. : )

I still listen to a lot of tim ferriss info .. and he doesn't write a thousand plus page book then edit it down to 400 plus pages .. almost ever year and a half..working 4 hours a week ..

Productive people.. who become entrepreneurs .. doso to make stuff they love to make and use ..the 4 hour workweek and much of tIM ferris's message ..has been focused on cutting out as much of the unproductive crap ..that fills time and parades as work.. but accomplishes nothing ot takes away from actual productivity ..

that doesn't surprise me.. there are many who stop at the title and either get angry at the idear ..or lost in the dream of only working four hours a week.. then there are people who actually read the book a few times ..and understand the drug dealing for fun an profit was frowned upon by walmart ..and the 4 hour workweek title had the highest response in a google adwords test ..

I prefer the term.. be productive ..verse work ..hard work.. and many time tiol is involved.. but productivity.. is very satisfying.. and if working for others puts you where you are the most productive .. or you need to put your own business together to be the most productive .. and limit others opportunity to f up your productivity ..

I did state that as a personal preference ..

I disagree. Productive work is great. However sometimes just hard work can be satisfying.

that's fine.. but at the point you are at hard work also contributes to experience ..now if you get in a zone where ..you are doing the same amount of hard work every day.. and pretty much having the same experience day after day.. producing the same amount ..

                    that satisfaction fades away .

to keep that satisfaction or get more you need to be able to look back and say i am producing more.. better or faster.. than 1 month 6 months a year ago ..or when you max out your productivity.. you are probably building other assets with the proceeds

the secret to really living in the now is to have a point you want to be as far out in the future as possible..and understand how what you are doing now ..will get you there

Agreed. Months and months ago (when I began working on YourHealthyKnowledge.com) it was kind of difficult. However as I learned from Claude, the more you do something the better you get and the more "satisfying" it becomes.

Anyway I started out just doing 20 minute chunks or so and now I'm doing something like 1.3 hours. So I appreciate and understand what you mean.

I have attempted to carefully word this to attempt not to be critical or negative ..

in the case the site never gets to the point where you let others set it ..has building it given you more skill or ..a work ethic.. that you can build other sites a lot faster than this one you are working on now ..

I'd hope so. It's been years. I'll be dead before that goes live.

I decided 3 days, ago to start a 'personal journey' website on reversing my diabetes. I needed something to combat the boredom of swimming in the lake, everyday and driving around South Jersey in my beautiful Bimmer with the top down. What a sucky, life. lol

I purchased a domain name, set-up hosting, purchased and installed a theme, gathered and configured the necessary plugins, organized the blog categories and started writing content.

I'm taking the day off to cruise down the shore, tomorrow, and will write my initial content over the weekend, when I'm not bobbing up and down in the lake working on my beautiful tan. I'll be getting my initial stats from my VA doctor and Deborah hospital on Monday and my site will have enough content to go live by the end of next week.

Bought a copy of Webinar Jam to do live group discussions for anyone that's interested in having some support integrated into their struggle.

It was either that, or talk about my dreams for years and years and years. If you're going to constantly state that you are building websites with the intention of helping people, well - you have to actually build them and launch them. Otherwise, you are helping NO ONE and are exposing yourself as someone that does nothing but talk - and talk - and talk - and talk - well, you get the idea. lol

Those who can, do. Those who can't feed you a steady diet of bromides and platitudes. Unbelievably - you can't even embarrass some people enough to get them to do something - anything!!! What a world we live in.

I'm doing in a week, much more than I've been hearing about for years. One week.

Something to think about - or, ignore - depending on the type of person you are. :-)

Off to bed. Busy, busy day, tomorrow.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but if you are really qualified to show people how to discover their real potential...and teach success qualities that are proven in your own life ...

What are you doing here asking these questions? Personally, I'm operating at about 20% of my potential...on a good day.....and I'm doing really well now.

Flipping the Iceberg is a catchy line however it doesn't really convey where you're going at and Amazing Secret is kind of a cliche. Many people have used the latter in so many cases. Go with something that tells the audience what it is that you're trying to say but make sure it broadcasts a powerful message. Personally, I like Leaving the Old and Discovering the New.

I see a lot of that, here - or at list I used to until I flipped the 'make it invisible' switch. I cannot tell you how better each day is not having to read the dreck that some folks here try to pass off as enlightenment.

I've seen more meaningful words of enlightenment in a Little Lulu comic book.

          Yes - I'm THAT old!!!

belief is powerful ..but if you do not act from those beliefs and those beliefs don't lead you into a state of improvement.. but only convince you to feel better and that's it ..

that's not enlightenment ..thats engaging in karmatic chasing of your own tail ..

not having money or lack of financial abundance.. is a great excuse to hide behind for people not to improve themselves or their lives.. on my path of enlightenment the last year it has been about tearing away a lot of these heavy crap concepts about money and several other thng and dropping them.. and then putting the effort into not replacing them or picking them back up ..

I honestly believe i Can live at least another hundred years ..and for the past two years i have been improving my health and long term mental stability ..and recovering from almost ten years of exposure to heavy black mold exposure .. and getting control of my compulive tendencies ..

most of the stuff that was hindering my freedom and the little that is left is not stuff people could see.. and the ripping away and dropping..has not been a kind and gentle process .. but getting it all out in a few years .. instead of several decades ..or maybe even lifetimes ..

in any case my dream business is a small type of resort in a tropical country.. the worksop idea was a joke..and if i end up island hopping at some point.. it will be because the first one is successful enough that i can replicate it over and over ..and live on the resorts as i run them ..

one thing i don't believe in is retirement ..or the other consept of making a huge pile of money and living off it for the rest of my life ..or that i will have to wait to enjoy life untill after i pile up the money ..

if i continue improving my health the way i have been i could in many way physically be better than i was when i was 20. in a year or so .. another belief ..

there is a lot of the voodoo woo woo stuff here ..but many of you drop some real good gems of knowlege from time to time..

Well, it's fine to believe it, but it won't happen. Even if you do, at what age will you start wishing you were dead rather than live the life you are living?

I hope you don't also believe you'll be playing tennis at 100 plus whatever you are now. lol

oh i had a goo 7 years of that .. that i stopped 3 years ago and have massively shifted my mindset .. and outlook ..my parents got to 75 and 80 and abused their bodies ..so that is in my probable current lifespan.. if there are no improvement in health and longevity and nothing that science can do to improve the life span and massively improve the quality of the added years as we go forward ..but there need to be changes in diet and personal behaviour .. and reduction in stress .. also other changes .. many i have made .but some i am still working on ..

in any case it involve making the changes now to live better today .. so even if a bus hits me or some other event happens that ends my life ..before 100 year .. learning to better enjoy each day and not living by default or on the differed living plan .. of waiting until retirement .. or the older plan of hope there is a better after death if one is a good person .

my health and mental state and outlook are already massivly better with huge jumps in the last year .. now its about focusing on learning to have a better actual living experience day to day verse dreaming of better things.. or simulating experiences ..but not really having them .

which i am still learning ..and not that good at yet ..

there is a lot of research in life extension and it will start to show real fruits in the next 10 or 20 years ..there is already some thing people can do ..if rich enough ..

My father smoked and drank himself to death. Had a massive heart-attack at 43. Sad, because all of his relatives lived to be quite old.

Mom is 90 and getting a kidney biopsy on Wednesday. She buried 4 husbands. Two of them were dead.

I am doing likewise. Sadly, I never cared much until now. I'm not looking fto extend my life beyond what I'm expecting. I just to be as healthy as I can be during that time. I have a tough battle, before me.

in any case it involve making the changes now to live better today .. so even if a bus hits me or some other event happens that ends my life ..before 100 year .. learning to better enjoy each day and not living by default or on the differed living plan .. of waiting until retirement .. or the older plan of hope there is a better after death if one is a good person .
I'm not expecting that there is anything beyond death, other than being worm food. I'm cool with that. :-)

Reality always trumps fantasy. I live each day as if it's my last. I figure that one day I'll be right about that.

which i am still learning ..and not that good at yet ..

Not really. Not outside of affording the best foods, medicines, supervised health care, surroundings and the like. Most of the 'science' has not shown to be very promising. Most scientist agree that the life extension dream is falling by the wayside as far as being the primary goal and are gearing more toward eliminating the crippling illnesses that make old age so horrific for so many.

well i will be personally growing the best food as time goes along ..it a big part of what i am studying.. and i am big on not doing the things that bring on degenerative illnesses that are the current bane of old age .. do not need to actually live another hundred years as i expect to die in some event ..like getting eaten by something or whatever .. but i am going to at least be as healthy as possible weather that event happens in 40 50 or 70 years ..using the best research available to stay healthy .. and doing what i need to do to stay healthy ..

actually implementing the stuff ..makes life better now .. so it has instant gratification with long term positives .. the hardest has been reducing the amount of food i can eat at one time .. as the is one of the common factors among people who grow old and stay healthy and active .. and also restricting the amount of time between the first and last thing you eat to under 12 hours .. so the digestive system can rest and clear out ..

if i do what i can do now to achieve the best health i can.. not only will it extend the years of quality living .. i should manage to be young enough to get benefits from the actually therapies that come out in 15-30 years .. i'm not to up on the idea of medical vampirism.. as the first therapies they are test amount to taking blood from young people and infusing into ld people ... and there are some rejuvenation benefit.. i saw the health burst my mom go after she got plasma ..the last two years of her life ..

I don't want my old age to be like my parents last 15-20 years ..

Off to the Wilmington VA in the morning for a complete work-up and evaluation before I jump in. I had a evaluation at the ocal VA on Friday and my blood pressure was getting dangerously low. That's a result of the heart failure.

Last time I did this I lost 114 lbs., but I was a good deal younger, less sick and more active. My goal this time is 60 lbs. It was 80, but I have lost 20 in the past six months, even before officially kicking off my journey.

Feeling good about this, since I kick-ass at everything I do. I'm pumped!!! lol

I applaud you for having the courage to do a workshop for self-improvement. The titles are ok but it can be better. Gotta go deeper than Flipping the Iceberg or Amazing Secret. Focus on pain points. I believe it's about targeting human nature traits. This internet thing is amazing.

Flipping the Iceberg is a tricky line but it does not actually convey where you are going in and Wonderful Secret is sort of a cliche. Lots of individuals have used the latter in numerous scenarios. Go with something which informs the viewer what it's that you are trying to convey but ensure it broadcasts a strong message. Personally, I like Leaving the Old and Finding the New.

When the title of this thread caught my attention I thought I might be able to ad some value here. From what I have learned from the current online marketing "guru's" its good to try to tie the benefit to the title. They suggest speaking your markets language. If "iceberg" is a common term your market uses to describe a problem or seeking benefit. That might be good. As Jay Abraham says ... Test, Test, Test.

I'd go with "Flipping the Iceberg" but it needs a very compelling photo with it to attract attendees. If you didn't find a suitable photo, a simple text will bring you the crowd you want, such as "Do what you like, SUCCESSFULLY", printed on A3 paper or larger, to be hanged in landscape orientation.

The word "Successfully" should be readable from far away to attract attention, small print like "Do what you like" should be above "Successfully" and maybe with a heart next to "like". You can add other phrases as questions, to give an idea about the workshop:
"How to discover your real potential?"
    "What are you success qualities?"

I know you are only asking for a title, but the design factor is also important and it should be appealing.
