How important is time management for your online work? Warriors?

Hello Warriors,
I hope all of you are doing good. Its Michael here. I am working on SEO and E-commerce related projects since last 7 years. There were many ups and downs during my journey. But I remain consistent and I kept working hard.

During this time, I experienced one thing and that is "time management for these projects is very very important". Now, you tell me , what is the value of time management in your field.
Thanks

Is there any field where time management isn't critical? Whether it's IM (or any income source online), fitness, retail, construction, Government (for those who actually work), laboratory, farming, medical etc. time management is imperative to working efficiently and getting more accomplished.

I'm in a few different fields and the only way to make sure I accomplish everything I need, I must have good time management skills. We can always make time for the things that are important to us.

I have an app on my phone called "Quality Time" (no affiliation) that I use to track social media usage. I get alerts when I've opened my phone a certain number of times or reached certain usages for different apps. Keeps my time wasting in check.

Sir, it is a great pleasure seeing the reply from such an experienced and old member of the great Warrior Forum. I think you better know the worth of time. Time management was very important in my field. I have to take and complete the orders on time. In freelancing, if you cannot deliver on time, you are going to get nothing. When I have multiple orders, I thought to manage my time. Because it was very difficult to manage multiple things at the same time. So after using some time management software, I managed to focus on one project at a time. I planned first, when to work, break, sleep, exercise etc.

    Time management? Or self management?

    Which is it?

Time management is non-existent for me, i just wake up and do what i feel like...whenever i make a timetable, i never follow it, so i don't bother with making them anymore...what works for me is that i don't take on too many projects. i just take on one or two and do them till the end then move on to something else.

Its like ur at the Buffet line and trying to fill 5 plates all at once, its gonna be difficult...but if you just use one plate..... finish that, then refill it with another item...its a lot less stressful for me doing things this way.

I think it depends on everyone's different situation, I normally have multiple things going on at once so time management is critical to me but it may not be to someone else.

time management..how is outsourcing and building a list of freelancers to farm out tasks you need done..and i guess who get that done in good time ..time management ..

you worked hard for years and hit the point where you learned what tasks you could farm out tasks to.. seems like a different and way more vital set of skills than time management ..

time management is for those who havn't figured out how to do the outsourcing yet..

anyway it would be great and valuable if you explain a little how you chose people that you consider talented ..where you find them.. and how you learn to trust them ..

you don't need to give us names .. but if you have a system that others may be able to replicate .

Actually, I was telling about my past. I explained that time management was necessary when I was working hard and new to this field (when I was a newbie).

Outsourcing is a little bit difficult task sometimes when you do not have enough time for the project to be completed. For me, I use to search in the groups that are related to my niche.

About the only time management l used was doing 13 flyers a week, but that was more technique and not being lazy than watching a clock.

And after three months of keeping that pace up, l was on the verge of burning out, and slowed down.

So l am grateful l did that many, and to this day it brings in a nice trickle income, but not something anyone could do forever.

So forget about time management and concentrate on technique and shortcuts.

That statement would have been great if you had included it in your original post. It would have explained to others "why" time management is an important part of your business. Now, that does not mean "time mgt" is an important part of other peoples business. Yours alone.

I agree that "time mgt" skills are an important part of any online business. I also agree (in part) with this statement from Tag..

Tag is more task savvy than a lot of people because he does this for a living. He knows that techniques and shortcuts will always improve "time mgt", so think harder to work smarter.

Once a person learns how to "concentrate on technique and shortcuts" for any project or task that person can also learn how "time mgt" for that project or task. For specific projects or tasks the "process" may or may not be automated in full or partial to better manage your time.

If you can, try to be more detailed when you start a thread which would better explain your "intentions" to help others, otherwise it appears as if you have an "agenda" and Warriors despise agendas.

    Good thread though.

Time management is everything man, if you are not using your time working you are doing something else. Our monkey mind always wants pleasure and believe me work is something that not everyone finds pleasurable so you end up doing less work and more wasting time. If you manage your time carefully, you can get done your job more efficiently. As an internet marketer myself I follow a very strict time management routine. No excuses to waste time.

Thanks Jeffery, and l did end up with 300 odd flyers on two sites, but was also ready to bite through a table at a local coffee shop, since some jerk next to me, (and not buying anything) was tallying up how often he could use the F word in a sentence, (well, him and a gang).

At that point l was stressed out to the max and just wanted to sit somewhere quiet, but at least it showed me that the pace l set for myself was not sustainable.

And outsourcing in a way was part of the reason l could do 13 a week when most professionals in my industry could only manage half that number.

so how many times did he use the f word - wonder if he beats my record but that was set in a public bar

    So sir,
You asked about time management... I wanna tell you, how I spend my whole day doing a lot of things... I am 20 and a student persuing BCA... I go to college, take tutions, do dance, study, make blog on sketching and drawing. And yes I do all these things in just one day.. I got this trait from my mom who taught me how to manage time efficiently... I make prior time tables daily for every task I am gonna do the same day.
Yes time management is too important in everyone's life.. Because without that you won't be able to show and practice your talent to the outside world... You have to make your own time if you are dedicated for something. You should give your hobby a part of your time table. Infact, my teachers are also impresed from me as I always keep my projects and home work complete.
I just shared my experience with that how managing time can be so fruitfull in fulfilling your dreams..
So at last, i wanna say We all should manage time efficiently and effectively to succeed in life....

Most of the jobs have become time critical now and by time critical, I mean that it has to be done in a time which is 2/3rds of how much time is actually required to finish the job. Not saying everyone sets targets as such, but then most of them have the habit of over promising and then rushing things up to finish in time.
And time management is even more crucial when the work happens in a linear fashion where there are a couple of other people waiting in the conveyor belt, who can do their work only after you finish yours first.
In our line of work, medical transcription, we have patients waiting for their report on the other end or a claim which has to be processed. And unless we don't give them the required reports at the right time, there's going to be a physician there who is going to be answerable to lots of patients. There could also be cases where allergies of a patient is not updated in time and so they end up getting injected with what they are not supposed to and may lead to serious complications."

I'd say "pretty important" is underrated. It's like the most crucial thing, whether we talk about online work or whatever. Time is of the essence.

I am of a contrary opinion. Time management is only but something that stops people from doing what they love most. In most cases, they feel that time has run out so they change their engagement. This is not good. In fact, it negates the gains of specialization. According to me, one should do what they love doing as long as they have the drive and have not achieved their goal. It allows people to perfect the skill and become the best. So forget about time management. It just derails people.
